After watching quite some anime, I've come to the conclusion that anyone who cant pronounce japanese words correctly, either watches dubs, or doesn't watch anime... (or just started watching w/e..)

I think you should give the reporter more credit! I've seen some other Japanorama episodes and he seems to read a lot of horror mangas, he's a big fan of Junji Ito and Junko Mizuno.

It wasn't nessecarely directly aimed at the reporter btw, more or less something about people and their pronunciation of japanese words after hearing them. Although it varies for people how fast they pick up what they hear. But the general lines remain the same. (Although some people are just....wth =.=; watching 200+ episodes of naruto and still not being able to say ''sasuke'' correctly D:)

1. A lot of kids love it and watch it

2. TONS of merchandise have been made -games, toys, cards, costumes, movies

3. Its widely known across the world, the US, Japan, Korea, Phillipines, China, Mexico,etc.

Why isnt EVA on the list? because its aimed a different audience, i dont think it was originally made to sell all these merchandise and games and movies and plushies, and w/e. When was the last time u saw an EVA game on shelf?

ガンダム　which romanized directly is Gandamu the problem is that Jonathan Ross has a speech impediment for one thing... but the closest they have in Japanese to the English word gun is ガン. That's what the person meant.
