People that say she isn't a good drummer don't know how hard it is to "pocket drum" - which is essentially her style. Lacks any sort of flamboyant fills basically. Playing one, simple unchanging rhythm without any fills is actually extremely difficult because you lose concentration eventually. Stewart Copeland famously said once "I'll do something now few drummers can do", and just played a simple, unchanging rhythm for about 4 minutes.

I play drum ( grade 7) I think the drums suck. she never does and off beat drumming and all that crap about the shit drumming is essential to the sound of the band, i think every drummer in the world knows that drums aren't just to keep a beat. they are very difficult drums to master and she hasn't. you could improve the sound by sticking a toddler behind the kit.

Guys, Meg can play the drums. She's been sitting behind a kit for like 13 years or something, but the White Stripes calls for the beat to be simple so Jack can do whatever he wants. It's not a hard concept to grasp. And it works pretty well, in case you haven't noticed. You see Meg holding back a lot nowadays, when she plays with Meg. So believe me, she can drum.
