Ive been a longtime user of the Dewalt 18v Nano tools and have had nothing but dramas with them, however before deciding t make the switch to makita etc, i made the decision to give them a chance with the 10.8v range, i must say that ive been impressed and once again have a sweet spot for Dewalt. very comfortable and perfect in size if youre downsizing from 18v
@samuelhorsman Glad to hear you stayed with Dewalt Samuel. Their new 18V lithium ion XR range is great as well if you wanted to stay with 18 volt.. Check out our videos on them
These tools are fantastic. I've used many diferent brands of cordless tools including the new 10.8 (we call them 12v in NA) tools that everone has been releasing. In the past I've shyed away from DeWalt, however I opened my mind to try these out starting with the screwdriver, and I've since purchased the impact driver and drill as well. They are by far and above the most comfortable power tool I've held in my hand. So solid, light, powerful and handy. My two cents
10.8 ???? they look like 18 volt ... these drills are too big . Dewalt is lagging behind competition . Milwaukee is stepping it up making making quality tools.
Capacity is VERY poor. They stole the battery connection idea from Makita and the 3 LED lights from Hilti. I guess that is what you get from losing so much of the market to Makita and Hilti. Good try DeWalt but the problem isn't drill innovation it is your battery warranty.
The drill driver is very poor torque for the size. The equivalent bosch punches out the same torque and probably about 1/2 of the size. The point of the 10.8V range is the size. Dewalt have completely lost the picture with this.
@jsmc84 makita blows bosch and dewalt out of the water? Just sold my makita 10.8 to get the Dewalt. Everything about it is better than the makita i had. Better balance, better fit in the hand, belt clip so i don't have to wear that holster that takes time to put on & take off the belt, better power & battery life, one handed bit change, can stand up were they makita has to lay down. Use one for half a day and I bet your makita will start gathering dust.
@TheForza1000 I agree most of the name brands are like bosch, makita, dewalt, rigid are all good and I think most people will get great service out of any of them. But the idea that makita blows dewalt out of the water like jsmc84 said is just plain hogwash. My comparison of the 10.8v makita I own with the dewalt 10.8 I own and use every day in my sign business holds true. The dewalt is superior IMO. The makita is nice just not as nice for the several reasons I stated below..

@makeet0
If you see them in person you'd change your mind. They quite small, I was suprised actually when comparing it to bosch/makita/milwaukee.
However I'm not a big dewalt fan I still would prefer a bosch/makita.

@skjoyner ; My Makita cordless drills are still going strong after 10 years of daily site use, you won't find them gathering dust.
I have a few dewalts ie chopsaw drills, circular saws etc and slowly will replace with makita and metabo.
Dewalt is no better than any other brand.
