  • I dont know why people say it is too fast - thats what rewind is for. Really great job. I pretty much have it now. Happy holidays!

  • @TheMusicmaam THANK YOU! THANK YOU! EXACTLY! My take is that they really dont know basic chords yet...this song can be quite challanging to an entry level student....but even at that they can print out the tab or just pause the vid....that's what I do when I can't keep up! I use paper and pencil, I pause and write-pause and write.

  • Thank you so much!! I'm sure the family is going to love it!! Merry Christmas!!!!

  • Learned it fast and will be playing at our school Christmas program. Thanks!

  • :D Hou Hou Hoou :D

  • I think this is a great tutorial, goes right along with the ultimate guitar chords i found. When i have this down i'm going to see if i can sneeak those little bursts of high notes bobby sneaks in there in between. Think it's doable? did u try it? as well, on the intro, i think it sounds richer if you keep the last little bit of the intro played with two strings, not just one-i think the one thins it out a little too much. but thats just me. whattu think? overall really helpful though man thx!

  • @dirosaga I agree on all accounts, yes, you can embellish it, see my lesson on the more advanced two note intro and those bursts of high notes you are reffering to.

    This is an easy version.

I really tried to make this simple, but if you read the comments, some still find it challanging , don't know the chords, say it's too fast etc.

    Thanks for the support!

    -Pick

  • @PICKNGRIN000 i dont really get the "in the frosty air" part.. help?

  • Thank you ;D

  • Dude, I gotta say, your the bomb! That was the best tutorial I've seen in a long time! Great job, and thanks!

  • I have done it!!

    Best teacher!!!

    It's easy

  • I cant fucking do the d6 chord

  • when i grow up i wanna be as good as u

  • What version is it of jingle bell rock in the intro? Who is playing? :-)

    Great lesson, thanks.

  • how do you play the g to gimnor chords and theb chord, please help... other than that i have the whole song wrapped up :)

  • @rickster326

Use the Interent to get a complete chord diagram or chart. There are also free chord generator programs that are very helpful, especially for more complex chord arrangments.

    -Pck

  • I have a question about this. Please help me i got basically the whole song i just dont get how to do the b and g to g minor chords please HELP!

  • It's to quick for me

  • @Samseldi

Your not the only one! But others state its its an easy lesson. Truth is...It's an easy song to play for an established guitar player, but can be quite a challange for an entry level student. Use the link to print out the tab and then just hit the pause button to slow the vid to your own pace.

    -Pick

  • whats the song at 5:30 ???

  • @TDogMartinez

Doesnt it sound like a Vince Guaraldi Trio song? ...From Charlie Brown's Christmas?

    ...heh heh heh heh

    Rock on my friend

    -pick

  • @PICKNGRIN000 Where'd you get the tab for that?

  • @lifestraight

Tab for Charlie Browns Christmas?..It's Vince Guaraldi and I think the song is "snowfall" But I'm not certain...no tab, just playing by ear....you'll have to do an internet search and get lucky or else pick it out by ear.

    -Rock on my friend!

    -Pick

  • whats the struming pattern

  • how you do the b chord

  • I know its not xmas now but still.. MERRY CHRISTMAS ! You'll be expecting a sock from me for this lesson =)

  • @jess3336677 you don't have musical ear then ...

  • @jess3336677 i learned it just fine, it was good enough for me?

  • @jess3336677 Um.... Pause it? :D I started the parts I needed to watch over again like five times each, so I basicly watched this video over and over for forty five minutes... But it's great!!!

  • this is great, thanks so much!!

  • what the deal you can't play this is why you call it gay man

  • Ur going to fast aaah!!

  • what is the tuning for this song?

  • Yours is a simplified version but it works and it sound okay. Very good for beginners. Thanks a lot for sharing. Merry Christmas from Calgary, Alberta

  • i like your voice ! :)

  • sweet i only kno the intro but sweet

  • thanx man, i look at the tab on ultimate guitar before but couldnt figure out the right way to play it till now

  • Hi Pick! I could play the intro all day too - it's got that cool 50s pre-classic rock classic feel that is so infectious. I am going to try and post my video as a response. I hope you enjoy :)

  • Your intro version is better than my simplified version. I'd love to see a slowed down version that hows us how you play it.

    Very nice traid work throughout!

    thanks for posting!

    -Pick

  • Ah... I used the Powertab version available on ultimate-guitar :)

  • I did not see that version on UG last night...but I was able to google and found one. Its more difficult but sure sounds better....I had to practice it to get it down smooth. Looking forward to using it playing out next week. Thanks!, your video helped too, I'll probably add some of the little grace licks that you use throughout too!

    -Pick

  • Ok, glad to hear it, and thanks for the nice words, Pick. I was going to tab it for you... so if you change your mind, just let me know :) Happy Happy Holidays

  • thanks a lot!

really going to use this in a performance i think.

  • great voice dude

  • although i'm more on hvy metal... THAT WAS AWESOME MAN!!! YEAHHHHHHHH

  • could you please send me the intro tab because its not on that web site please

  • I dont have a tab to send...honestly, if that video isnt clear enough.....I doubt a tab will help you...but...why not just grab a pencil and write it down? Thats what I do!

  • wow really great sound !!! what's the guitar?? plzzzz...

  • The guitar is an Ovation 1861 Balledeer, but a lot of the sound comes from my multi effects unit, a Boss GT6. Mic is run through a Digitec S200 effects rack, and both guitar and mic are run through a Mackie Stereo PA system. Record out jacks run the sound from the PA to my PC's sound card.

  • you are a great teacher!! Thanks ;-)

  • It was the first two "rock" notes/chords that got me. This is a great song, Christmas or no. I could play the intro all day long, and this is when you know you've been bitten by the guitar bug. its great. Thanks for helping me out!

  • Thanks for the positive comments!

    Rock on,

    -Pick

  • great lesson, well explained. :-0

  • thanks man

  • Great lesson, printed the tabs also. Great song for the holidays. Definitely will be singing this one with friends and family this season.

  • One more question plz xD...

What exactly do u play during what a bright time it's the right time??? And plz give generally the rthythm u play here.. Thanx in advance

  • I'd like to help, but I'm afraid if you dont get it from the video and the tab the best advice I have is to tell you to practice. Start with 3 and 4 chord songs and learn all the basic chords before attemtping this song.

    -Pick

  • lol wow, same guitar as mine

  • I know i'm not playing guitar but I think you playing very good ! :)

  • Wow very good :)

  • thx man good work so simple to learn :)

  • "Then back to that D thing again"

Haha great lesson, learned in a flash!

    5 stars

  • This is put together really well, thanks.

  • dang this is the video that taught me like 2 years ago. good to see it is still in use!!

  • I learned this last christmas

  • what if we only have 20 fret guitar for the intro any substitutes??:(

  • 20 frets is enough, my Ovation only has 21 frets....you mean you can't access the 15th and 17th frets because the body of your guitar is in the way? (a non-cutaway model?) If thats the case the notes will have to be transposed to the first and second strings, which I'm sorry I have not done.

  • yeah i cant access it

  • Great Video, but i have a question. What rhyth does the right hand play??

    Ty in advance

  • I always have trouble answering "rythem" questions with text. You just have to hear the beat, 4 beats to a measure. The simplest would be a down stroke for each beat.

  • I come back every year to relearn this tune for my family. Thanx for posting.

  • Great lesson! I learned this fast and very concisely! Keep up the good work hope to learn more in the future from you.

  • wow learned this in 7:08 minutes

  • gotta play this at me english, hohoho

  • But you are Mr. Bill Gates! Hi! Nice to meet you!

  • That was brilliant it makes me want to play it.

  • I was going fine until you got to the strange G's ... I can't do them, it sounds like I'm jumping on a cat...

  • LOL! Use the Internet and look up a guitar chord chart...There are many ways to play most all chords..some are easier to finger than others...Find a G and G minor that you can substitute. I use barre chords and most students find them harder to grab than most open chords.

  • Thank you, this really helped out

  • brill thanx :-)

  • you are our Guitar Santa Claus ^ ^ merry christmas

  • awesome! this made it really easy for me to learn! only took 2 days for me to get it down, and i've only been playing for 2 months :D

  • Only playing two months!?! Very good then! This is encouraging.

I made the lesson for somewhat established players who know the basic routine beginner chords.

True beginners usualy have trouble keeping up.

    Thanks for the comment.

  • yeah! i thought you made it really simple and easy for people to follow, i wasn't troubled at all ^_^ normally i look at the tabs, even when people have the video tutorials, but with this you made it really simple
