Fans talk about it cause it's what they hope for, so if something they hope for actually happens then it would make a big impact whether they talked about it or not.

@fpascale789, Nip Tuck is supossed to be the rating that it is, Wrestling doesn't have to be TV-14, Cm Punk vs Jeff Hardy last year was something that the kids hated and yet it was TV PG, both HBK vs Taker storylines was during PG and yet grown men are saying that their matches were the greatest wrestling matches ever, a TV rating has nothing to do with how good or bad a wrestling show is, the creative writing team does, TNA is TV 14 and yet they still suck with their storylines.

I don't think the merch argument is a legit concern for the IWC, it's just a factor into why they may or may not do it. Right now it looks like it'd be a bad business decision since the WWE doesn't have The Rock as the guy to step into that #1 role.
The Austin argument is sort of like a double edged sword, was his turn short? Yes. But so was his run at the top. And he turned in the attitude era where no one was really heel or really face and SWERVZ EVERYWHERE! so it was a different beast.

Buyrates vs Rating? Tough one for wrestling companies. For one thing, you want people to watch your show because it can lead to more fan intrest and bigger buyrates. On the case for buyrates, well if you none is watching is your show then they'll probably not buy the PPVs. Therefore, once in a while have big matches on TV but try to have bigger matches on PPV. John Cena turning heel at Summerslam would be big.

I've seen many say they think that's the reason he hasnt turned heel, which is just giving their opinion.. Big difference. If a fan says "TNA should have made that match a ppv match ", it's because they know without good ppv sales TNA will be doomed eventually. So it does make sense to worry about that as a fan.

I have said this plenty of times about people worrying about the merchandise sales. WHY THE HELL DO THEY CARE!!! The WWE will NOT go out of business if Cena turns heel. I never cared about the merchandise. The only thing I bought from the WWE was a picture of the Hardy Boyz back in 2001. Like you said. Heels DON'T stay heels for long. Some of them do, because it works for him. The only reason I want Cena as a heel to freshen up his stale gimmick and then he can become face again.

@fpascale789, Nip Tuck is supossed to be the rating that it is, Wrestling doesn't have to be TV-14, Cm Punk vs Jeff Hardy last year was something that the kids hated and yet it was TV PG, both HBK vs Taker storylines was during PG and yet grown men are saying that their matches were the greatest wrestling matches ever, a TV rating has nothing to do with how good or bad a wrestling show is, the creative writing team does, TNA is TV 14 and yet they still suck with their storylines.

I don't think the merch argument is a legit concern for the IWC, it's just a factor into why they may or may not do it. Right now it looks like it'd be a bad business decision since the WWE doesn't have The Rock as the guy to step into that #1 role.
The Austin argument is sort of like a double edged sword, was his turn short? Yes. But so was his run at the top. And he turned in the attitude era where no one was really heel or really face and SWERVZ EVERYWHERE! so it was a different beast.

Buyrates vs Rating? Tough one for wrestling companies. For one thing, you want people to watch your show because it can lead to more fan intrest and bigger buyrates. On the case for buyrates, well if you none is watching is your show then they'll probably not buy the PPVs. Therefore, once in a while have big matches on TV but try to have bigger matches on PPV. @shakysyxx So you're saying Cena is what keeping the WWE on the air. Only Cena's merchandise is selling. No other wrestler merch is selling. Trust me, the WWE isn't and won't be losing money if he turns heel. The kiddies will eventually find someone else to like.

I've always wondered why so many fans worry about the financial status of the WWE so much. They should ask themselves: are they WWE fans or WWE shareholders?
Also, Cena turning heel at Summerslam would make no sense. He's been targeted by the Nexus more than anyone. They've beat him down several times and have cost him championship matches. Not to mention that Cena has beaten the piss out of some of them. Cena joining them makes no sense, and it would just be surprise for the sake of surprise.

Have you seen WWE lately? It's become watered down and is obviously more sponsorship driven than fan driven. If WWE actually gave a shit about what would make a good show, Cena would have already turned heel. The reason fans say he won't turn heel because WWE will lose money, is because they're trying to justify why it isn't going to happen! It's unlikely because as long as WWE is making a decent amount of money they don't need to take risks.
