  • I appreciate you so greatly for this. I got to meet Joe about five weeks before he died and he told me these words "Say what you mean and live it, thats how I try to live" Such a great man and an amazing musician. That goes for all four of them.

  • before those two great collections on crap CDs I had this on vinyl baby (B-side of one of two USA 45s of "Should I Stay ...")

  • this was one of their best songs and it definently should've been on Combat Rock at least...

  • listen to the cooL Confusion Band..

    Greetins From RosariO CiTy ArgentinA

  • Ooookaaay....

  • Thanks my friend. This all started with my neighbor (a "Clash Expert") egging me to find some Clash. I graduated high school in '81 and was hipped to Sandanista about that time. We were a rough bunch of druuggies and I was try to place where I got exposed to The Only Band That Matters. Long story short. Little did I know we was pretty close to the cutting edge at the time. The work you do has reintroduced me to a major force in my development. Thank you. This has made my day and this recession

  • I envy you who was around at the time of the conception of such great music.

Me myself, a wee lad a the mere age of 14, hadn´t even heard the name of Joe Strummer the day he died. Shame on me.

The Clash have inspired me a lot too. They pretty muc introduced me to music, which is now probably my biggest interest. Just 2 years ago I never ever listened to music, now I listen hours upon hours a day.

Indeed, my entire attitude to life has changed thanks to The Clash.

    The greatest band ever.

  • I agree. There are some excellent documentaries out there. They're pretty kinetic, but then, they liked speed.

Can't think of the name of the docu, but I saw them play for the first time. Until that moment, I had only heard audio recordings.

I was stricken with great sadness with the knowledge I'd never have the chance to see them play live, at least with the original lineup, as Joe Strummer had passed away the year before.

On my top 10 for what I'd take with on a desert island

  • Appo, I can't find "Kill Time" or "The Beautiful People Are Ugly Too", do you have those to post? Thanks for doing your thing!

  • For you darling, anything.

  • Appo, you are a god.

  • If I´m a god, then what must not Joe, Mick, Paul and Topper be? The thought staggers the mind.

  • Super Black Market Clash was my first exposure to The Clash, an album my brother lent me. Probably the best thing he ever did for me was turn me on to The Clash. I like this song plenty, only stuff of theirs I don't like is the dub, like Robber Dub.

But it's The Clash. Even their worst stuff is better than 99% of anything else out there. And I wouldn't say this is bad at all.

Appo, I totally applaud your mission to put all their recordings on Youtube. Maybe the kids will learn something.

  • Thank you.

SBMC really is an amazing album, if only for its many uncommon Clash songs.

And yes, when I say that a Clash song is pretty mediocre, I mean that it´s fricking awesome, just not as good as most of their other ones.

  • now im sorry i think this song from the clash is a real let down one of the worst they ever did apart from some of thouse stupid sandanista dub pieces its the worst sorry.

  • I used to think it was pretty bad too, but no longer. I don´t know why, I guess you´ve just gotta listen to it with a open ear and accept it for what it is. Okay, that sounded stupid, it´s a freaking song, not a mentally retarded kid or anything. But anyway, I kinda like it now a days. Far from my favourite Clash song of course, but still.

Really don´t understand how a song can be a letdown though, I mean, they´re just experimenting with different styles and didn´t even realese it on a LP

  • u know if u listion to them dub pieses of bankrobber and armagdeion (sorry about my spellig lol)with the orginal song first there pretty good to lision to dont u think?

  • Indeed. I´ve never been a huge dub fan, but Clash´s dubs are amazing. The beat is great.
