I'm still looking forward to this game. It's just why do game devs kind of take the "dick road" when it comes to release dates. I understand wanting to hype the game, but the whole "yeah we're making the game, but we're gonna wait a few more years before giving a release date" thing is getting old. 2 things:

1) the graphics look absolutely PHENOMENAL considering the facts that it is still in alpha testing and that they will work on a huge scale of PC systems.

2) i cant wait to do every single quest in this game just like this where theres branching outcomes, fully voiced characters, and a reason to make you want to do the quest.

The EA Investor's conference call stated that TOR was scheduled to be released after the end of Fiscal Year 2011, which ends on March 31st, but before the end of Calendar Year 2011 which of course ends on December 31st. That means it'll come out anytime between April 1st and December 31st. However, Daniel Erickson has stated that they are still on track for a Spring Release, so I figure sometime in April or May.

@Grannbone Honestly, it just means there is no chance of you getting the game before April 1st, but you will have it before December 31st. Providing they don't announce a delay. Brace yourself though, this is a AAA MMO title, and they get delayed all the time, though. All comments from Bioware point to them being on schedule for a spring release, but I try to give them the benefit of the doubt. This game is a massive undertaking. And they don't want to release a product that's not finished

I personally think the combat looks a bit static. Obviously this is alpha, but I hope the combat becomes a little less turn based, and a little more dynamic and interesting :) Only thing stopping it being my WoW replacement at the moment :)

The Imperial Agent appears to have an Australian accent; I believe the Sith Warrior has a British accent, and I think the Sith Inquisitor might have one, as well.

I am not sure about the others, but there seems to be many different accents represented in the gameplay shown thus far. It is too soon to say how many more will be present when the game launches, but I would imagine there will be more.

The Imperial Agent is extremely upper-class English. Star-Wars has always had a thing for making villains upper-class English, probably something to do with the 'Empire' thing.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Republic had some Irish, Scots or Welsh, though. So don't rule out British republic.

The only republic voices to be announced are female smuggler and male trooper and Jedi knight. You don't know that.

The Empire always has upper-class English toss-pots true, but Most of the prequel series Jedi were British.

@cmwissy I agree that Star Wars has always had a tendency to make their villains English. However, I would say right now, this Empire is, arguably, the cooler of the two sides in SWTOR. Here, you can play a Sith as a complete ass, or someone fighting against his darker tendencies. At least this Empire won't be as pigeonholed as the original one.

Also, many of the Empire villains may have been English, but the most emo Jedi in existence (Anakin) had an American accent. I'd say we're even.:P

I'm so tired of hearing about "graphics" from the same ppl that have been playing WoW for the last 6yrs. These are graphics for a game in alpha. A successful MMO should be designed to be scalable on a variety of different hardware. That is what they're going for. That is one of the main things that WoW did right. What's wrong with SWOR following a successful format? If you want graphics, quite simply put: Play one of the many graphics intensive mmos that have flopped. Flopped hard.

@AcrossTheTen It's a very not-Bioware thing to do, restricting race based on your class selection. Allegiance in Star Wars isn't as rigid as it appears in other vidya series like Warcraft- there's no legitimate reason for the Republic to have, say, the Twi'lek available when the Empire doesn't.

I really dislike how the smuggler pulled that imperial agent shield. When did Han ever pop a shield? And, now the sith running around with force push! It saddens me, I thought they were looking to differentiate each classes.

@nap3182 I agree on the portable shield part. That should've been IA exlusive - after all, the IA is a trained murderer with hi-tech equipment while the Smuggler is hardened by a dangerous life and relies on guts and cunning to survive.

@nap3182 My guess is, this Smuggler was more of a "Scoundrel" (what they called a Smuggler path that focuses more on stealth) than a "Gunslinger" (a path focused more on sharpshooting and damage - and more likely that Han could be classified as in the movies).
