Why get into a 360 hp car and bitch about the gas mileage? 2 things that are pisspoor about the g8 are the low center armrest and the orange dash and center stack displays (especially the battery & oil gage on the center stack...butt ugly). Brakes are a bit soft but the car is outstanding, piss your pants exciting in all other aspects.

@whtswrngwthupeople Honestly? GM should have kept Pontiac and cut GMC Truck, instead. GMCs are just Chevy trucks with fancy chrome and a bigger price tag. Pontiac could've been saved, made once again into the Excitement Division. I love GM, but they were stupid in how they handled Pontiac. They gave the division a crappy car (G3), a bunch of okay-but-not-exciting cars(G5, G6, Torrent, Vibe), and two awesome cars (G8 and Solstice), and then wondered why they didn't sell enough.
@whtswrngwthupeople - People weren't buying them b/c GM fucked up the brand -- THAT was GM's mistake. They diluted the "excitement" brand with crap like minivans and rebadged Daewoo compacts that you could find on any Chevy lot. And then they made the Chevy lot more attractive to performance buyers by bringing back the Camaro but no Firebird, by making a high-performance Cobalt but no hi-po G5. Then they finally start getting it right with the G8 and Solstice just in time to ax the whole brand.
Watching this vid. kinda makes my heart break. Last week I totaled my 2007 Pontiac G6 GT. Stupid old woman drove her 98 BMW through the intersection when it was red! But anyway... I've driven Pontiacs for almost the past 10 years and it's saved my life/kept me safe twice. They looked good and drove great. I don't think I've ever been more comfortable in driving a car than in a Pontiac. GM... You've made a grave mistake cutting a great make of car. Hope to see you again Pontiac
personally i'm a fan of the window controls in the center, primarily because if you're using the manual mode on the shifter, or if you're lucky enough to have a stick shift G8, you won't have to switch hands on the wheel if you want to roll up a window. just my 2 cents

Considering the comfort, power and handling this car has, especially for a larger sedan, and how it's $25,000 less than a comparable Euro car it's quite dumb to put it down for the glove box having a gap of 1/16" or the radio control, just like the vid presenter says. It is so much fun to drive and I used to have an Accord, Prelude, Acura Integra and 325i convertible and it's more fun than all of them.
I've owned a GT since July 2009 and it's not really true that the economy is bad. I have a short commute which hurts fuel economy yet still avg 20 mpg, which is incredible considering the HP the car has. The power controls are in the center to save money since the car is sold in left and right hand drive countries.
I only got my first car just short of a year ago (2004 Grand Prix GT) and it performs great, but looking at the G8 just makes me want one even more since it reminds me of a badass version of my car.

but the L76 engine was never in a corvette. So it technically doesnt have a corvette engine. Plus that L76 is made in Mexico, which could be somewhat scary, then again..probably no worse then made in america stuff.
You want to know what's cheap? My 2005 Corolla is falling apart. Cheap plastic . The front driver side door handle, the interior front bin, the radiator. All fell apart. Great fuel economy. Horrible fit and finish. Lousy power and passenger comfort. My first Toyota, and my last.

I just bought a G8 GT yesterday, I've had 4 Vettes (2 C4's, 1 C5 and an 02 Z06) and 2 late-model GT Mustangs; the last a Shelby.
The car is built better and faster that either of the Mustangs with a build quality comparable to the Vettes.
