  • @SeaGamer4life Yep, good job for him.

  • i had arealative die on the Arizona

  • @snakes3425 oh but its the same picture as yamato crew though

  • @joilk1

I had to cheat when it came to crew photos for Yamato and Musashi, at the time the ships were top secret since they violated the naval treaties the Japanese High Command did all they could to make sure the exact details of the Yamato Class were never revealed, so very few photos exist of the actual, their construction and there are even fewer photos of their crews. there are stories that baracades were built at the shipyards in an effort to hide the ships during construction

  • @BlAcKYeLlOw12

Torpedo Bomber pilots to be exact

  • Snakes, 2:19 is a picture of the Yamato crew.

  • @joilk1

Musahsi actually it was taken during an inspection of the ship by Emperor Hirohito

  • @snakes3425 dude keep making this videos these are nice

  • HMS VICTORIA! MY FAVORITE BATTLESHIP!

  • @snakes3425 hi umm the picture at 2:19.... isn't this a picture of the crew from yamato, and not the musashi ?

  • I dont mean to be disrespectful but at 3:24 the ship on the left is like "get up,everyone knows yours just doing that to get attention or "damn, did i do that?" its just so epic the way it looks

  • M/S Estonia? I will build submarine and go search for it next summer!

  • your'r probobally doing a great a grat job contacting the dead over youtube

  • Wonderful compilations! Also add the HMS Britannic.

  • @scorpietta Correction: HMHS Britannic.

  • i am here to listen

  • there was a lot more to estonia sinking then just a storm

  • RMS Hesperian sank a day before my birthday

  • HMAS Sydney lost all hands 600? after battling german raider cormeron 1942? found 2006? in 2000mt water off west Australian coast

Hospital ship Centaur torpedoed by Japanese submarine 1942? found 2009 1500mt water off Queensland coast.

Exact dates may be wrong can google for correct dates both have dedicated websites.

  • The little letters crawling over the screen are annoying, and so is the music.

More fitting music would be "The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald".

Girls whining just don't get it when you're looking at tragic shipwrecks.

  • didnt the USS scorpion go to far under water then her rivets burst because of the pressure? or am i thinking of something else?

  • 99 people died on the USS Scorpion, not 85.....

  • what artist does the music? It is wonderful

  • @BillMah1 It is great music where can I get it?

  • @BillMah1 it's 'sleeping sun' by nightwish

  • uss scorpion was sunk by covert soviet action in retaliation 4 a soviet sub that was mistakenly believed to have sunk in a collision with a us sub.

  • i had a realative on the uss arizona

  • my greatgranpa was on the battleship that sank the mushashi japanse battleship the us battleship hid in a cove and when the musashi sailed by...BAM!!! except it backfired and the usa battleship was crippled because it fired all the 16 in projectills at once an cracked the ship in two!

  • empress of ireland sank 14 minutes because when the storstad hit the ship it hit two water compartments and all the windows were open

  • Comment removed

  • By the way - the story about the Morro Castle was that Captain Robert Wilmot was poisoned by the man who probably set the fire - the wireless officer, who became a hero (in 1934) for staying at his post while acting Captain Warms and the other officers botched their jobs. The wireless man had a post 1934 career including attempting to kill a boss (a police Captain) and murdering an old man and his daughter. The wireless man died in prison.

  • I like the fact that snakes3425 included that unexpected photograph taken on June 22, 1893 of the H.M.S. Victoria turning over and sinking. I was surprised when I first saw it in an account of the disaster - it was a rare shot of an on-the-spot catastrophe in the 19th Century.

  • how sad it would be to die at sea. You're freaking out, you dunno where you are, and you can't tell if there's a tomorrow for you.

  • You know, one could write a book just to correct all the incorrect statements in a lot of the posts in the 14 pages of comments so far.

The Shinano was a very good design, it just wasn't complete. The Torpedo bulge was not the same as the Yamato.

Archerfish was originally credited with sinking a cruiser. It wasn't until 1947, after the US had confirmed the existence of the third ship of the Yamato class, that the Archerfish was given credit for sinking an aircraft carrier.

  • titanic sisters : hms britannic and rms olympic

  • The U-20 sank the Lusitania.

  • wha the socrpions had only 29 mans no 85

  • The RMS Hesperian was a beautiful ship.

Infact, I like the non-war ships the best.

  • Perhaps you should have the HMS Rawalpindi in the next video.

She fought off the Scharnhorst and her sister for over an hour before she went down.

  • THRE7MY 64E Y

  • this is also true... the oceanbed holds countless treasures.

  • What about Poseidon?

  • That's not a real ship..

  • USS Oklahoma was floated after the attack at Pearl, then lost while in tow on open ocean.

  • IJN Shinano was sunk on its trials. They had not fitted the water tight doors with gaskets yet.

  • My Grandmother, Cousin and Aunt Where on the M/S Estonia one month before it sank.

  • whats the song

  • Sleeping Sun by Nightwish

  • USS Arizona? it sunk in pearl harbor

  • yes USS Arizona sunk in pearl harbor.USS Oklohama also sunk in pearl harbor too

  • and uss arizona had many prople trapped below deck, right? so many fatalities

  • The movie is great, but not what it was about....

    So horrible about the gonners...

  • sany of yo videos m/s estlie.

  • MS Estonia is snuken becase of a massive wave pushing off the car door

  • Not only 'one' massive wave, it was a huge Storm, for us, Swedens worst storm for a long time, and the huge waves completely destroyed the Visators locks.

  • FERRY IS SPELLED F E R R Y

  • why do people keep saying uss titanic..... it was and always will be the RMS Titanic...

  • they are stupid !

  • Stupid!?!

    What do you mean!?

  • the uss titanic hit the ice on the year of my b-day

  • good music

  • The fairy sank???

  • hahahah fairy

  • It's spelled ferry not fairy.

  • What you mean Lost due to a Design Fault After being Torpedoed. And i heard tat they havent found IJN Musashi Wreck at the sibuyan sea? is this true.. well they found yamato Somehow they cant find musashi

  • Shinano was plagued by design flaws, specifically weak joints between her armor and her hull as well as poorly designed anti-torpedo bulge, also survivors claimed that Shinano was never tested for water tightness, and say some of her rivits popped out after she was torpedoed.

From what I'm awhare of Musashi hasn't been found, part of it is the depth of the water, Musashi is believed to lie at a depth of up to 4,000 feet while Yamato lies at a depth of 2,000 feet

  • Sorry, I dont agree! The design of Shinano was good, and as for her torpedo bulge, it was identical to that of Yamato's and look how many torpedoes it took to sink her!! Shinano was lost due to poor training of her damage control crew and the fact that many damage control items like pumps and watertight doors were not completed. She was being moved to Kure harbour to do this when sunk!

  • Shinano had the misfortune of being both rushed through production to get her into service, but her biggest flaw was the fact her design was changed midway through her construction. Had Shinano been completed as a Battleship she would've fared better.

  • True, but had she been completed and commisioned she would have been an awesome carrier!

My sources state she was to be a sort of support carrier, not actually having a strike group of her own, instead repairing other carriers aircraft and re arming them.

Very interesting ship. Shame no more pictures/film survive.

P.S. Thanks also for not getting abusive like other idiots on this channel!!

  • The Japanese did such a good job keeping her under raps, US naval intellegence didn't know that Archer-Fish had sunk a 72,000 ton aircraft carrier, at first they thought Archer-Fish had sunk a cruiser and not a carrier.

  • @admiraldma @the krazeone if she would of made to commission doubtful if she had pilots to fly the planes off her deck but looks like it was a very impressive big carrier too bad 6 torpedoes in on side sank her

  • @snakes3425 @krazeone only design flaw was taking 4-6 torpedeos in row and no pumps if read musashi took 18 yamato took 8 (in one side) themushashi has been read somwhere they where talking about raising parts of her and making a museam there in phillipeans ( i think)

  • @Iwantsanta @thekrazeone they did find her said the going to raise pieces of her for a museam like tamato has in japan

  • USS Arizona, what do you mean by magazine explosion?

  • A Magazine is the area of a warship where explosives and gunpowder are stored.

  • ok. thanks. this shipwreck stuff is so gripping

  • arizona sinks on the ancher

  • Thank you so much! Your videos help us to remember. So many people don´t really know how many lives are lost through out the years. Well done!

  • U-20... That U-boat has one nasty reputation.

  • Thats sad, the Estonia sank when I was one years old, it was a tragedy to all the countries near the Baltic sea. May the poor souls that have ben lost at sea rest in peace.

  • Intresting fact, the U20 also sank the Lusitania, In may of 1915

  • i like the fckn music

  • What Ship sinks After a battery Explodes...

No offence But tats a little Poorly Prepared Hull

  • It wasn't the explosion that sank the Sultana, it was the fire the explosion caused

  • Lost Ships I has Titanic and Lusitania. Lost Ships IV has Britannic

  • The worst maritime disaster in British history HMT " Lancastria" June 17th 1940 which was bombed off St Nazaire, France. There were over 4000 lives lost .

  • a read a book about the morro castle

  • yeah i heard about morro castle in a shipwreck book by keith eastlake. the morro castle was the crew onboards fault.

  • Its just dumb how the captain didn't want to send an S.O.S.

  • thats right but the captain comitted suicide and first officer warms was then captain

  • Captain Wilmott may have been poisoned, he certainly didn't commit suicide from the accounts I've read. On the slow SOS remember it was during the depression a false SOS would have cost Warms his job and jobs were scarce. There is a strong line of thought that the fire was deliberate too.

  • some say that he might have committed suicide, but one thing for sure is that he died of a heart attack

  • The cause of the Scorpion's loss is not unknown. It was a Russian torpedo. The Scorpion had been sent to investigate suspicious Soviet naval activity west of the Azores on her way back from the Med, and is known to have been shadowed by at least one USSR sub. She was ambushed. SOSUS heard the Scorpion running and turning to dodge the torpedo. Some reports say she may have fired back, and a Russian sub was seen on the surface 2 days later with damage less than 100 miles from the wreck site.

  • I think cruiser war ships seem so pointless.

  • also what about the American Star

  • even sader then the first one

  • I'm joining the army after college

    semper fi

    bro's ...

  • phh yea btw, the sub was carreing 2 Nuclear tipped torpedoas at the time, if a explosin had taken place it is very likely that those woulda gone up as well

  • i had an uncle killed on the arizona... since i was born 30 years later i have devoted my life to teaching history.. i have 16 years in now and plan to remain till i am let go...lol...

  • the Pallada was rised and sold to japan.

  • That was a different Pallada, which was built in 1899, she was captured by the Japanese during the 1904-05 Russo-Japanese War after being sunk during the Battle or the Yellow Sea. The Pallada I'm referring too in the video was built in 1911,

  • It was rumoured that USS Scorpion sank due to a HTP Torpedo exploding in it's launch tube. I'm not sure if it was ever confirmed.

  • Forward part of the hull is INTACT, no explosin took place

  • ok just a rumor i heard. Which part of the sub did the explosion take place?? Because i did read that an explosion occured of unknown origin.

  • There was no explosin, the sub IMPLODED cause of immense pressure since it fell below crush depth, i have looked at pics of every square inch of that sub on the bottom that can be seen and no explosin took place

  • oh hear us when we cry to thee

for all in peril on the sea

  • the Scorpion was sank after a crack appeared in a pipe, it began to take water and sank but after a few meters down a room where it remained air imploded

  • That was actually the Thresher

  • no scorpion was hit by its own torpedo

  • USS Scorpions torperdo is proved too be intact, it fell below crush depth, it was never hit by its own torperdo, nor did one blow up in the tube, its hull was crushed by immense water pressure, the only other possible explanation is collision, which is even more unlikely the the crush depth one

  • Sad. So many lost. God bless them and their families.

This is a good vid and I liked the other one also. The vids are good in a way. Reminds us that we shouldn't forget.

  • I just done something and the out come shocked me. I am really just..kind of speechless and can't believe it.

I watch the first vid made snakes3425 and totaled the people lost. And then totaled the ones in this vid. The total is.. Get ready--it's probably going to hit you hard...

---32,789--- lost just in these 2 vids.

Shocking, sobering, mind blowing, numbing number of lost people. Unbelievable. And that numbers only a handful because theres many more ship wreaks. MANY. Say a prayer tonight.

  • my god, i that must be really sad for those families, god bless <3

  • Two others that are noteworthy but forgotten are the HMS Hood & MS Willhelm Gustloff

  • Hood and Wilhelm Gustloff are in my Lost Ships I video

  • o.....

    yeah...

I watched it after posing that & felt really stupid...you win

  • IJN Shinano was still being outfitted when she was moved from Yokosuka Navy Yard to escape B-29 raids, and so still had workers aboard. Her watertight integrity hadn't been tested, and she hadn't had builder's trials yet! Even her engines weren't fully tested, so she didn't reach flank speed. About 1400 out of 2516 crew perished 7 hours after USS Archerfish sent 4 shallow running torpedoes into the 72,000 ton carrier...

  • Guys, let's not forget about the AHS Centaur, which is by chance sank on May 14 1943, and the 63rd anniversary of its sinking is today

  • She was sunk by torpedo attack by I-177, at 0410 local. Japanese records released in 1979 confirm this...

  • i dont care if the hitler ship sink

  • The uss scorpian didnt sink due to a unkown explosion, apparently one of the subs torpedos motor started when it was in the submarine, unable to stop the motor the captain decided the best thing to do was to jettison the torpedo, unfortuantly the missles lock on system went on and it locked on to the nereast object:The uss scorpian. The missile blew a hole in the boats cunnig tower and she sank into the depths.

  • Best evidence is the warhead of the Scorpion's hot running torpedo exploded inside the torpedo room before it could be jetisoned. The accident is similar to the one which destroyed the Russian nuclear submarine Kursk in 2000.

  • How can you forget the Britannic and the Carpathia, yes the Carpathia sank in 1918.

  • I've got a Lost Ships IV planned dealing with lost ocean liners. I hope to include Carpathia and Britannic in that

  • What is that song??? I NEED TO KNOW PLZ

  • Nightwish: Sleeping Sun (2005 Verson)

  • That Can't be a photo of shinano, she was never photographed.

  • Actually she was, but this is the only known photo taken of her the day before she was sunk. If you look closely at her bow she still has the distinctive Yamato class bow flare of the forecastle below the flight deck. What sank her more then the flaw in her design was she wasn't finished in alot of the small details, gaskets, valves that kind of thing caused her watertight system to leak.

  • Thanks for telling me.Your right about the yamato class bow.

  • holy crap!!!! the u-20 was the german sub that sunk the lusitania!!!!!

  • holy crap!!!! the u-20 was the german sub that sunk the lusitania!!!!!

  • i agree that is suprising, i'm wondering if the U-20's captain didn't follow rules, because the RMS Hesperian was Hospital ship at the time of the sinking, and subs were not to attack Hospital ships without having a good reason (for example: armoury on board).

  • Many german submariners ignored the rules.

  • i know the U-20's captain especially, look what they did to the Lusitania, and they have searched the wreck and there are no weapons to be found.

  • that's bullshit ... germans warned in every newspaper over week to if that ship comes to europe it will be sunked .. and it still came .. theyr own fault to they were idiots

  • any ship that flew the british flag

  • Actually, the Lusitania was carrying munitions. I saw video of it on a documentary a few years back.

Check out Castles of Steel. It's a great book about World War I naval warfare.

    Great video.

  • to think the storm is not what sank estonia

  • Isn't the wreck of the Sultana in a field? I've heard the river shifted course and people forgot all about it until a farmer plowed up a bit of the wreck!

  • True

  • The Estonia sank because of a malfunction on the loading ramp: the locks and hidraulic cilinders broke. This was due to the waves.

  • hard to believe shinano is the same class as yamoto

  • how did the HMS Victoria sink????

  • Victoria was taking part in menouvers and through a string of blunders on the part of the squadren's commander Admiral George Tryon, she collided with another battleship.

  • oh thanx :)

  • She collided with the Camperdown (not Camberdown as you have in the vid). Interesting sidenote is that Lady Tryon was hosting a party in London that night and several of the guests claim to have seen and spoke to the Admiral who was actually onboard the sinking ship. John Jellicoe was also on the Victoria but survived, going on to lead the Navy in the great war.

  • How can a modern ship like M/S Estonia sink?

  • all ships can sink!

  • the bow was ripped off

  • I'll almost cry when I see Estonia :(

Many in my country was anboard and some in my famely

  • give snakes3425 a break the man dose his best!

  • when will you do a lost ships 3

  • hmmm.......yeah, you should use a different song. you use this song over and over again. It's a nice song, but...come on! we get tired of it eventually...you should use some Titanic Music from the soundtrack.

  • Can't you ever use a better song you use the same song on every one of your videos and it's not even fitting

  • You spelled boiler incorrectly.

  • Common it's just a spelling error ignore it.

  • oh and also the SS America ........one of the greatest ships ever...

  • yeah, 2 bad shes n 2.

  • you should talk about the normndie the oklamhoma, and also the wasa....

  • i still cant believe uss oklahoma was not scraped

  • Oklahoma was going to be scrapped, but she sank while being towed to the breakers.

  • i know

  • did the ever find her

  • No, Oklahoma has never been located.

  • Great video man. You really showed the wrecks really well.
