Detroit itself is actually nothing special, its got some nice historical spots and some good restaurants, but its by no means a tourist hotspot, it just does a lot of business because of the automotive industry. However, the state of Michigan itself is very nice, and there are many smaller places to get away to and explore, such as Grand Rapids, Traverse City, Mackinac Island, etc. Detroits suburbs are nice too, but nothing for a tourist to do. Its just over 7 hours between lhr and dtw

very nice i fly delta from ams when i can last year in a 747 661us from dtw to ams.loved it.
this year seattle in an A330 looking forward.Love the A330 and delta airlines.

@NightSlacker1 global warming. and the weather in the area is bipolar.....we actually havent gotten a real snowy winter, we had rain, sun, spring-like weather.
