No If your thinking about the 8800 Series. Then the 8800GT Beats the 8800GTS 640mb/320mb version but the 8800GTS 512mb wins there.. And 8800GTX/8800Ultra wins all of them.. but if your thinking about buying a new card then go with the newer series because that card was awesome 1.5 year ago. ^^

Sonic Edition means It's overclocked or higher specs than normal 8800 and PALIT is a brand of a graphics card.

you don't plug them into the mobo. you just connect the 6 pin connector from your power supply into the card and its ready to go!

the only thing you need to plug into the mobo is the card itself.

if your power supply is good enuf, there should be a 6-pin power connector that you can plug into the card. if it doesn't have that, you can use an adapter and plug in 2 molex connectors instead. JUST MAKE SURE THAT YOUR POWER SUPPLY CAN GIVE OUT ENOUGH JUICE TO POWER THE CARD!

2.40Ghz, I wouldn't bother, build your own or buy a gaming computer.

Coz you'll spend more on little parts like that, and then it'll be cheaper by making something like a Core 2 Duo 3.2GHz, and 4GB of RAM and a good graphics card etc, just save up.

Though depends how many games your gonna play, if only a few, jsut get a card, but at 2.4GHz most games need like 3.2GHz P4 or Celeron D.

So unless you have a comp at that spec standard, no overclock, then you'll be okay.

But if your gonna play lots of games, just buy a gaming computer, or build one up.

I have 2 of these card in SLI. I did A bios mod to increase the clocks, but changing the voltage doesn't work because these have a 3-phase psu. I was able to get them to run in SLI at 750/1900/1000(2000) and the system is insnae with 4gb of ddr3 1600mhz 790i motherboard and a core 2 quad q6600 at 4ghz.

Might be a bit late but get the EVGA 8800GT Akimbo, got the same, if not better cooling solution, nice and chunky and is overclocked much more, this has the same clock as my Superclocked 8800GT from EVGA.... mines single slot but the AKIMBO is dual slot, type in 8800GT AKIMBO in the search box on YouTube and watch the review, by Logan himself.....

For anyone out there who is going to buy a 512MB 8800GT version; do not buy it, buy the 1GB version of it because in games like Crysis,Oblivion and NWN2 the memory will be full about in 2 or 3 hours without loading(when a game loads the memory will refresh itself) when the memory will be full the fps will start to drop, but you can refresh it by hitting alt-tab. So just buy a 1GB version of 8800GT instead.

8800gt is still gunna be around for a while because there is no 9 series equivalent also the 8800gt use the g92 chip and 65nm technology. the g92 is basicly the same chip thats used in the 9600gt

The 9600gt is very similar to 8800gt and eventually the 8800gt will become the 9800GT most likely. The 8800gt uses the G92 which is what both the 9800gtx and the 9800gx2 use. The 9600GT uses the G94 chip. Swing and miss there eh?
