google all you want, but alpacas are Not a scam, and many many farmers enjoy raising them, and do profit from it...
alpacas produce about $150 worth of fleece per year, so even with 100 alpacas, u only make 15,000 dollars a year. to care for 100 alpacas in one year it would cost a little over $10,000. So the profit from fleece will only be a few thousand dollars a year which you CAN NOT make a living from. I almost became an alpaca farmer but researched it and discovered its a pyramid scheme. improrting from S. Aerica is no longer allowed into the US so those alpacas are all US bred. They can be very expensive. The alpacas that they bought may be on the lower end of the spectrum depending on how nice their fleece is. A white alpaca with great fleece would be the most expensive.

Thank God I have connections with Peru, the Alpaca prices here are insane. For a nice Alpaca coat here is 800 dollars in Peru 200.
