USS KIDD is currently in Port Klang,Malaysia as of now..just visited them in a media tour by Commanding Officer Ellinger...met the team and were shown around the ship..thanks USS KIDD n all the crews..one of the best tours i had in years..youre always welcomed here in Malaysia!
@bloodhoun138 the 993 wasn't build for WW2, it was/is a modern ship. We took it over for a song, saving a ton of cash. They took the cash a armed her to the teeth. We had the same hull as the Spruance, but sat 7 feet lower because of all of our added weaponry.
actually, we didnt flim that on deployment. that was done well before when the movie was still being shot. and hollywood still fucked up. they called our name and showed the Preble (DDG 88)! just setting the record striaight!

@dlmarti Dude, this isn't WW2 where every inch of the ship was coverd in guns. It's modern and most of the weapons are laser guided missiles.

YEP! They filmed Transformers 2 on their ship during the deployment. Its the only destroyer in the movie.
