  • i love it! played lost odyssey too! if you love FFVIII you <WILL love LOST ODYSSEY!!!!!!!

  • No matter how many times I replay this game... In every scene this song shows up in... a bawl like a baby. I'm the kind of person that doesn't give a crap when a dog dies in a movie or something, too. I freakin' love this game.

  • it reminds me on christmas ..... i love it :)

  • This is the kind of song I wanna be listening to right before I die or I want it playing during my funeral. XD Really a beautiful song.

  • Silent Night/ holy night/ all is calm.... now you hear it don't you?

  • Lost Odyssey is far from a masterpiece of the RPG genre, and even the soundtrack isn't terribly memorable (by Uematsu's standards anyway)... and yet, I can't help loving it. It's obvious that a lot of love went into making this game. It's one of only two games (the other being Crisis Core) to bring me to tears, and the ONLY game to make me cry more than once.

  • Lost Odyssey is FAR from perfect but it won't feel like wasted time by the end either. The story does a superb job of forcing you to see just how bleak the prospect of immortality really is.

  • This game was so beautiful. I got tears at the end man. For real.

  • My favourite game on 360.

  • Best JRPG of this generation. The creator of FF left to start his own studio, creating this, and it shows; in both the declining quality of FF, and the great quality of this game.

  • By far, this has the most amazing story of any RPG i have played. Game mechanics are simple and satisfying. Couple this with the absolutely stunning memories that you will encounter, and you have a game that you will NEVER forget once you play through it. Seriously, each short story from the memories you have will invoke every emotion possible, and, strangely, you can relate to each one as well.

  • You uploaded a Christmas-like song in August?

  • @electricmastro what are you smoking?

  • @SamFisherCell ??? I was just saying what was on my mind at the time.

  • @electricmastro but how is this like christmas music to you?

  • @SamFisherCell The soothing melody.

  • The tracks title is A Sign of Hope and I hope to see sign of Lost Odyssey 2. Thank you Hironobu Sakaguchi for bringing old school RPG in a new jacket and thank you Nobuo Uematsu for bringing memorable music.

  • jes the forgotten dreams are so god, i love theme thank you for this music

  • Not afraid to admit that I teared up in half the Dreams where this played. Such a ****ing powerful song.

  • @CrouchingCrab haha yeah me too. what got me was the one where that old woman remembered kaim, calling him "big brother kaim". i forgot what the dream was called, but that's the one that got me

  • @idxrider

That one's called "Don't forget me, You hear?" I believe, pretty touching one too.

  • I cried on a lot of the memories stories in the game. fml

  • Load times are actually great if you have the discs installed. Not even really noticeable. Without it though, it is pretty long sometimes.

  • "Don't Forget Me Now, You Hear?" is definitely a tear-jerker. Mostly because of this music. Haha, but I didn't cry... I swear...

  • @jonbacan

Psshhhhh... sure you didn't. :P But yeah, that story really hit home, hard. But to me it's sad for a personal reason as well as it being a touching story in general so it's even more emotional to me.

I found one of the very first dream sequences to be the most touching, about the little girl with the illness who never saw the outside world.

It touched me a lot due to the philosophy behind it, how Keim had to lie about meeting her in heaven even though he can't die.

  • @YinYang19 "Hanna's Departure" I believe that first one is called... Definitely the saddest of all the Thousand Years of Dreams.

  • reminds me of some of the sad lost memories o granny bread maker we love you

  • This really might be one of my favorite video game songs ever. The dream sequences were so good.

  • I've avoided playing this game for some time, for one reason and one reason only.

The dream sequences and this very music track are extremely emotional to me, I always tear up during a sad sequence...

I bet when I go back to it again, nothing will have changed... it's just extremely beautiful and moving, the music does it all... and I'm a HUGE sucker for classical melodies, a very beautiful piano score will always make me shed a tear or two.

Can't help it... music does that to me. >:(

  • Is it sad that this game, not just this chilling elegy of a song but Keim's sad 1000 years of memories...?

Every single dream almost moved me to tears or close to sorrowful emotion... all of the stories were so touching and I'm sure maybe a lot of us can relate to some of them, except that we are not immortal and have never lived 10 lifetimes full of anguish.

This song will always remind me to appreciate the life I have, as it will end one day and to cherish every memory.

  • these stories , very good writing skill . make me cry , and wonderful music! lost odessey , it is worth for it to but xbox360!!!!!! best game ever! i feel love and mercy in my heart play this game...

  • Parts of this song remind me the ending music in The Truman Show which can only be a good thing.

  • To people complaining about the load times, install the game to your HDD. It's a big file and if you only have a 20GB drive you'll probably only manage one disk at a time but it makes a massive difference.

  • Some of the music that accompanied the short stories made me cry lol

  • Lost Odyssey plays like a 90s RPG, it doesn't try to be too cutting edge, it just sticks with the basics. One of the reasons it was such a good game.

  • The words on the gravestone were chosen by Greo himself.

He explained his choice to Kaim this way: "I would say the words to each new pair of shoes before I handed them to the customer. I always said them to the customer, too. I never once had the experience, though, of someone saying the words to me."

"May your journey be a good one!"

These were the words the old man always spoke. Coming from his mouth they could be brusque, but they were always charged with feeling.

  • @Alphaomegix I remember this one!! These stories really made the game. Excellent writing skills.

  • if i had the money to buy a 360, this would be the first game i get

  • The dreams you unlock are total emotinal roller coasters. I will admit that the writing is so good that the stories make it hard not to cry. the dreams are best enjoyed alone LOL

  • You said it dude! I never knew words and music can make such an emotional atmosphere! man the amount of times i felt my heart melting inside and tears inside......gosh nobuo is world class man! best composer of all time! XD

  • i never read the dreams :) I dont really like reading.

  • Are you serious? People like you are the reason secular humanism and ignorance is destroying the bright future of the Human Race...

  • Does it help to say I love lost odyssey? IT was still very emotional for me.

But what makes that so bad that I dont like to read. It strains my neck to read the box tv I got. I read a couple of dreams and I admit they were good. The dreams are not really for me though.

I loved the music in the whole game! Just wanted to say that.

  • so do you read any books outside of the game?

  • no i dont.

unless I have to if its for school :(.

  • Beautiful! :( The scene and this piece just bring tears to my eyes really...Nobou is a god XD

  • Haha keep talking. I like it when people like you shun a game just because it doesn't have shooting in it. It's quite amusing.

  • 1:52 woke my ass up

  • LOL, me too.

  • This is really a respectable song.

  • this game was great! i can't believe so many magazines gave it bad reviews for having a classic battle system. this song alone is so moving..

  • Yeah, I bought this when it first came out, it's gorgeous, and the music is great. I guess there aren't many of us who miss the classic battle system, I was so happy when I played it and it wasn't a crazy-dumb "revolutionary" battle system. Also, it let you have 5 party members, which was awesome, like old times.

  • Yeah it was cleverly executed and despite the immortals being revived, it still proved to be challenging!

Great game and I remember crying my eyes out over the stories you collect along the way. In fact, I just read Hanna's Departure and it had be choked..

  • @SvenRosencrans i agree. a lot of people didn't like the "classic" battle system but i found it very refreshing and i can't think of how to play this game using something else

  • Beautiful song, and beatiful scene when "the Lirum´s miracle"

To me,the best Xbox360 game. I enjoyed SO MUCH this increible title. Since FFVIII I didn´t played a nice j-rpg like that

  • I think the Lost Odyssey OST is very underrated. There´s true beauty in it, espacially in the songs that play in Kaim´s memories.

  • I remember the first time I heard this song in Lost Odyssey. It's such a beautiful song. I think of Lirum when I hear it :)

  • The scenes with Lirum were just so great!

To evoke such emotion in a person is something not easily done by video games, but this went all the way and then some!

    Best game I've ever played!

    EVER!

  • what an outstanding game. the music in it is pretty damned good imo,too

  • This is really good. It sort of reminds of me of christmas.

  • MY GOD! That's my favorite track in the game! Always plays in the dreams sequence, when things light up in the story.

    *Sways*

  • Totally agree!

  • A truly magnificent game of epic proportions. Glad to have some of the soundtrack on your list, Darky.

  • Ouch, 360. Don't have one yet. I'll probably get one after Tales of Vesperia comes out. Beautiful song here, too.

  • Sweet, I'm getting this game soon.

  • I'm a huge fan of FFX, and I heard Lost Odyssey is very similar. Now, normally this wold excite me, but I heard that the load times are long, there is a lot of grinding, and the game is slow. See, things like that bother me.

  • The load times are pretty long but to be honest they're not to the point of bothering me. Also there is absolutely no grinding required, at all. :P Great game so far and I loved FFX too.

  • No grinding? Halleluya!! i'm getting a new Xbox 360 elite at the end of august, together with a new pc.

The first game i'm going to buy is probably and rpg, either this one, or Eldren scrolls, but i don't know which is better.

  • the load times don't seem much worse (if at all) than most other RPGs on CD/DVD to me, and the game makes FFX look slow & grindy in comparison IMO (although you'd prolly disagree with that :p). It's a very solid game and the reviews really didn't do it justice.

  • I had to do a bit of grinding, but there are dungeons at the end that pretty much level you up every battle. I got a little carried away and was a bit overpowered though >_>.

  • @KeeSomething Load times are long,it can be frustarting, but im a big FInal fantasy lover, and to be honest,Lost odyssey is a whole lot better then the new FF 13,in every single way, story wise, gameplay, towns, scenerys, lost odyssey has everything that FF13 doesnt have.Buy it ,you wont regret it,one of the best games ( storys ) i ever played.

  • Very moving

  • Nobuo Uematsu definitely hasn't lost it. I've just started playing this game and this music directly hit me. Invoking emotion like this in a song takes a lot of talent, my eyes sometimes get misty when I hear it in the game (especially in the dreams) because it's often during a beautifully sad scene.
