What is wrong with being the party of "NO"? The problem with Washington is that no one is ever told "NO". Tell the banks, the auto makers, the environmentalist movement, and the socialist "NO". You cannot judge a budget by the number of pages.
Again, not true! The Republicans have been fighting for many specific things. The fact is that the Democrats are never going to allow them to participate. So much for bipartisanship!
Cutting taxes always simulates the economy. Giving people the choice on what to spend THEIR money is always the best way. Raising taxes will only make the problem worse.
cutting taxes does not, in fact, always stimulate the economy. tax cuts for the poor and middle class usually stimulates the economy. in any case, Obama is NOT repealing the Bush tax cut right away specifically BECAUSE raising taxes during a recession is a bad idea.
Republicans created the recession through laying ground work for bank dergulation,
next, was staging 9-11.
after that they used the war, and paved the way to cover up slush funding selling out and farming out america to the highest bidder kickback donaters, china etc;
then they created laws to prevent anyone to not prevent their agenda from happening or to be timely protested to stop it .
then they used the war to keep the media out, and rip off other funds as emergency.
I'm tired of watching clowns with pretty faces blur facts and opinions together into a mash of uninspired crap. Fox started it and then the rest of the media followed right along. I'm done with t.v. news.
And people say MSNBC is balanced? I mean Fox News is conservative but I think MSNBC is at least as liberal if no more so than Fox News is conservative. CNN in terms of an all news channel probably the most balanced but that isn't saying alot.
"I think MSNBC is at least as liberal if no more so than Fox News is conservative."
I think you are right in several cses. But unlike Fox, they don't pretend to be "fair & balalced" while beating up on Liberal guest & treating Conservative ones with kid gloves.
Worse, I can't recall once where an MSNBC reporter lied or spun the facts as Fox people do, even after they are corrected. How do you trust what people say when they are regularly caught in lies?
The thing about MSNBC is that they are far enough in every direction to be balanced, if that makes any sense. The morning is All Far Right, the evening is All Far Left (Buchanan not withstanding). FOX is All Right All Day, and you're right CNN is the most centrist (or at least equally offensive to everyone).
I hadn't thought of it that way before but it sounds about right actually. That's not necessarily a good thing and they're worthy of other criticism of course, but at least they're trying. Also, they have Republicans like Buchanan and Scarborough that actually make sense most of the time. Yes, they tow the party line but they actually think before they speak. That says a lot.
well. i think it's just too soon. patience, that's what's needed. smoke a little if you need to. i think it's in the wind and it DOES make sense, and obama's a sensible man, so i think that legalization may be within reach at last. obama, however, has way too many things snapping at his boot heels right now. i can wait a little longer. the groundswell has begun, though. just you wait and see.
Well put hobnailrose!! I'm not a user but I have long thought the attitude toward marijuana was ridiculous, especially in the cse of people who use it for medical reasons.

But like you said, patience & perserverence is the key.
thanks. let's remain sensible. obama's been president for only a short time. just now it's more important that he deal with and, sometimes, fend off very strong and varied resistance to his presidency and what needs to really be done to even begin to set things right. i don't think we should be jumping up and down, waving our arms off, shouting, "hey, what about pot?" might prove to be more irritating than helpful. wouldn't want that.
Both parties are fucking this country up, lol. War, bailouts, stimulus packages, pork, etc. Our politicians don't give a fuck about this country as long as they get voted into power; empty promises everytime and we never learn...
Ok I will agree Democrats are not saviors by any means, but they are the party who are ready to invest into what this country needs, like energy and education unlike republicans who think investing in pointless wars and saving companies and filthy rich people an extra 15% on their taxes even tho they export our jobs and play around with our savings.
The Democrats are just as bad, if you haven't noticed Obama just mandated another 50,000 troops to Iraq and Afganistan. He supports government bailouts and stimulus packages that further enslave us in debt and inflation. The democratic party has had the majority in congress since the economic crisis began! They are not our saviors in any way whatsoever.
I mean look at this with the point of view of the person that needs to make a decision. 50,000 troops most of them are going to Afghanistan to support the few troops that we have there. Why are we in Afghanistan? Because Alceda is an actual treat to us weather u like it or not. We are in Iraq because Bushy thought we would march in and make money which he did but sadly is that the money was from us not Iraqis.
The economic problems began when deregulation began which was when Republicans had control, and Dumb Democrats like Dodd thought shit like this would work. Just because we began learning about this crisis when Democrats took over was because they were the ones shinning the light into it the last two years of Bush's Presidency.
And just like a tell everyone who complains about our goverment, either start a revolution or shut the fuck up because No one knows what to do to change a goverment 200 years in the making with out overthrowing the current their ideas and structure. Greed and Corruption affect us all no matter what religion, color, race, or political party you are.
You couldn't be more on the money! Revolution is the solution! But what if keeping my mouth open is the way I revolt as opposed to violence? Is government elitism more sovereign than anarchy? Who should have the right to dictate morals, violence, coercion, force, and theft? Is this really a democratic republic or is it an oligarchy that claims democracy and representation? The Constitution is completely raped of its authority and people care more about the superbowl and american idol. lol

its good that we have a professor president, who will take any question, analyze the different points of view, reflect on it, and give you a fullly rationalized point of view.

GOP straight answer: well we thought if we drew a big house, with a big car and a smiling married couple that everyone would understand it. Jindal made the house, i made the SUV and colored it with big flames on the side(it is awesome) and Michael steele drew himself holding hands with Rush lim.
thats hilarious. they get bugged about their not having a budget, so they put out a pamphlet of nothing that was no bigger than an elementary school report. i love watching them try so badly! so funny! XD
I just finished watching the Obama Deception and it was terrible. The subjects interviewed presented no evidence (at best they're credulous sources, at worst they're paranoid), the narrative is not cohesive and the argument is supported by weak circumstantial events, documents, statements, etc.
Obama took more money from Wall Street than any other candidate in history. His financial team in place has longstanding ties to Wall St, AIG, etc. This is all true.
democrats / republicans are the same. you are all sheep. all of you. this whole system is meant to distract you, the republicans appear stupid and the dems appear smart, when really you are changing roles every few decades. i'm getting so sick of these partisan assholes, keeping up with politics like its a goddamn soap opera. baaaa
It keeps going back and forth because republicans keep making huge messes, then democrats come and clean it up, then republicans destroy it further.
Americans only want dems when they're really in trouble, all other times they fall for the simple bs gimmicks and smear tactics of the right, so usually we have republicans in charge, but things always go steadily downhill, and then eventually, we grit our teeth and vote for the smart guy. Then once things are fixed, we get bored with or mad at him
I agree wholeheartedly. What is most fascinating to me is the fact that somehow we have been conditioned to believe that two parties can represent the interests of over 350 Million people. Where are all the radicals? The US political system has devoured all the freethinkers and has stunted social change, making us all mindless consumption robots who are entirely ignorant of the world. It's a sad time to be a citizen of The Unconscious Empire.
well said. i just love the drama that unfolds on the moving picture box. this political play, this soap opera portraying which of our owners are fucking each other. like pro wrestling: when the camera goes off, they all go out for drinks together. been putting on the same show for almost 100 years.
Both parties are fucking up horribly. The republicans have completely lost thier way and the democrats seem to be moving away from the checks and balances of capitalism to giving away money to major corporations. This has been the biggest robbery of all time.
Mind you it started under Bush but now continues under Obama and Geithner.
Quoting Johny Depp in a fashion,¨Are you going to be a Republican or a Republican´t, because what this Nation needs right now are Republicans!¨ LOL!!!
Why is everyone obsessed with a stupid plant? Why do you care if it's legalized, you'll continue to smoke it even if it is, as you have been doing already.
It's clear that many people who submitted a question referring to its legalization were more concerned with getting high than it's medical values, and in that case the DEA needs to brighten up against people who need it and were therefore subscribed it.
It's not clear. They didn't show any statistic. Until you can show me proof, I won't believe that. 75% of the Drug cartels earnings are from marijuana. If we legalize marijuana the cartels will fail. In any case, I rather sit next to a pothead than an angry drunk.
There was a study done on smoking cigarettes and pot. I don't know the name of it, off hand. It was : cig smokers, cig smokers who also smoked pot, and folks who just smoked pot and no cigs at all...
Highest cancer rate was cigs alone
Lowest by far, (way, way lower) was the pot alone, group
Yea, I know about this research. Marijuana kills cancer cells. Point blank. That's why you will never hear someone dieing from marijuana. Ignorant old folks are always going to deny it because they've been taught to discriminate against users, however generation X has the internet to get all this information out. Obama can make light of this issue but it will never go away. What does this say about the online community? We're much more smarter than you Obama.
Obama knows that he would be wasting his political capital if he took on the pot prohibition issue. He needs all of his capitol for his budget with reforms on HealthCare, Energy, Education and Environment.
He doesn't need to "take it on," but to pretend that the question isn't valid, or to imply that the people asking this question are stoners, is only a display of either cowardice or ignorance.
It's the same attitude that marginalized DFHs about the economy, the wars, and is currently keeping us out of the loop on dealing with Wall Street, Afghanistan, health care and education.
Obama is proving he doesn't take progressive reform of failed policies seriously. At least he has the Blue Dogs.
it is incredible that you set such a high standard for yourself especially on important sites like youtube. Continue to take pride in your capitals and complete sentences and let Obama run the country.
Lol, says the one who wanted talk about grammar in the first place. Dude, you contradict yourself too much. I'm laughing at you. Obama is just another puppet. Medical Marijuana hypocrisy and now war hypocrisy. Keep being the puppet's puppet. Lol.
i didn't want to talk about grammar specifically, the substance of my statement was a person whose intention is to exhibit erudite qualities undermines the impact of their statement by using bad grammar. It wasn't the grammar more than it was the impotence your bad grammar gave to your original statement. In regards to Obama it seems that most Americans voted for Obama which is why he won, so in essence you are an outsider in a nation of puppets.
Sure, it's easy to point out a 15 year old's grammar than to argue against his strong point. Most Americans are sheeps, so thank-you, I take being an outsider a compliment. =) Keep ''bailing out'' your so incisive and profound President. I'm a young black male, however, I never swallowed that first Black President bullshit. Medical marijuana hypocrisy, gun hypocrisy, and now war hypocrisy. I'll vote for the right people in 2012.
You keep reintroducing grammar. I quote "Lol, says the one who "wanted talk about grammar in the first place."(btw that was bad grammar). Your a sophomore in high school now assuming you were not left back so you should have a grasp on basic grammar. Your opinion is irrelevant because you were not old enough to vote in the last election and have a voice.
buffalosouljah18: Bam isn't the messiah he is a politician, he knows the benefits of marijuana because he smoked it, now isn't the right time to push legislation for it just because your anxious to get high with your friends in the bathroom during homeroom. As you get older son you will realize that you need to play the games of life to get ahead. Also Bam never said he is against war, he is against dumb and unnecessary war. Al queda and Osama were not in Iraq, troops died and resources wasted.
Proof there isn't a God, because no force on earth could have created such an idiot. The dumb bama said, ''No, I don't think it would ''grow'' our economy''. The question wasn't asking if bama thought that marijuana could increase our economy. The question asked bama if it made sense to legalize marijuana because it's filling up prisons. His memory is shorter than a fish. Either that or he wanted to minipulate the question.
I don't smoke marijuana and I never tried it, therefore your idiottic assumption fails. I see the benefits from it and under bama's administration a California medical marijuana shop was raided by the DEA ( Drug Enforcement Administration ) even though bama promised the raids would stop. That's the hypocrisy I was talking about. Notice that I said ''medical marijuana'', if you could read.
And you contradict with yourself again. You keep bringing up grammar whilst telling me to stop. No I still have a voice because in 2012 I will be able to vote and idiots like you will hopefully be dead.
you keep saying I contradict myself yet fail to show how. No you don't have a voice because you can't cast a ballot your voice at this point is impotent. You should stop wasting your time on youtube and prepare for your PSATs so you can get a great education become a senator or House Rep and have your staff introduce a legalization of marijuana bill. Btw It isn't good to wish death on someone, plenty of young people just like you die everyday.
Let me show you where you contradict yourself. You keep saying that I should stop bringing up grammar, yet you pick and choose small grammatic errors of mine. That's contradiction if you didn't know. What's the future? The youth, my friend. Bama is making sure we pay for today's debt. I have the right to be concerned and voice my opinions, like many other future debt collectors.
Just got a corporate annual report (not a Fortune 500) that's 112 pages, ALL freakin' numbers, no freakin' pictures, and that's kind of lightweight. How stupid do they think Armericans are?
The GOP is like a stand-up comedy club. Everytime I see one of them on the "news" I can't help but laugh laugh my ass off. They should come up with a DVD, or maybe a tour or something. Thanks GOPers, you always make me laugh !!!
I think he doesnt want any more distractions now. We have to many problems right now to try to deal with such divisive and emotional like legalizing pot, I think if they bring that up it wil be during his 2nd term. That is if by then enough Americans are willing to look at this subject in an honest way.
but by legalizing pot a lot of the BS that we are having to deal with now would be less. More taxes would be raised, less on fighting the war on drugs, less crime. more people working. Better for the envierment as we can start to use Hemp to make millions of thing including BioFules
No worries, masterhook. Pandora's box has been opened. Obama didn't even answer the question the way it had been put to him - he fudged it. The blowback is going to be fierce, and I'm already seeing it happen.
Nixon ordered an in-depth study on marijuana and the reason nobody uses it's stats is because it identified alcohol as the 'gateway' drug. The Shafer Report also states marijuana has NO LONGTERM EFFECTS and does not kill - impossible to overdose.
as someone who smokes from time to time when I need it to help me sleep and sometimes for the fun of it I know its good and bad parts. I know when I smoke I dont wake up the next day feeling like crap and cant work. When I drink yea that happens. there are a million reasons why pot should be legal, time we see it for what it is and just grow up.
I'm with you... but I 'm just pointing out that even if he recognizes that keeping marihuana ilegal is stupid and counter-productive, the issue is something that the political opposition, the religious right and the media are going to make it impossible for any President to deal with this issue. I think it would probably take a good 20 years before pot is legalized.
When there isn't anything but stupid liberal socialist big-government free-spending policies being put forth, the GOOD GUYS ARE the obliged to say "NO!" And with force! The American People are also saying "NO!" But the idiots at MSNBC still just don't get it - too thick, I guess! Nobody cares - OR WATCHES - them anyway!! Ha! What a joke.

GOP straight answer: well we thought if we drew a big house, with a big car and a smiling married couple that everyone would understand it. Jindal made the house, i made the SUV and colored it with big flames on the side(it is awesome) and Michael steele drew himself holding hands with Rush lim.

SubmarinerAndroid 2 years ago
I just finished watching the Obama Deception and it was terrible. The subjects interviewed presented no evidence (at best they're credulous sources, at worst they're paranoid), the narrative is not cohesive and the argument is supported by weak circumstantial events, documents, statements, etc.
Obama took more money from Wall Street than any other candidate in history. His financial team in place has longstanding ties to Wall St, AIG, etc. This is all true.
The film, however, is trash...

democrats / republicans are the same. you are all sheep. all of you. this whole system is meant to distract you, the republicans appear stupid and the dems appear smart, when really you are changing roles every few decades. i'm getting so sick of these partisan assholes, keeping up with politics like its a goddamn soap opera. baaaa
nickwatchesthis 2 years ago 2
It keeps going back and forth because republicans keep making huge messes, then democrats come and clean it up, then republicans destroy it further.
Americans only want dems when they're really in trouble, all other times they fall for the simple bs gimmicks and smear tactics of the right, so usually we have republicans in charge, but things always go steadily downhill, and then eventually, we grit our teeth and vote for the smart guy. Then once things are fixed, we get bored with or mad at him
zndprophet 2 years ago 4
I agree wholeheartedly. What is most fascinating to me is the fact that somehow we have been conditioned to believe that two parties can represent the interests of over 350 Million people. Where are all the radicals? The US political system has devoured all the freethinkers and has stunted social change, making us all mindless consumption robots who are entirely ignorant of the world. It's a sad time to be a citizen of The Unconscious Empire.
eros1057 2 years ago 4
well said. i just love the drama that unfolds on the moving picture box. this political play, this soap opera portraying which of our owners are fucking each other. like pro wrestling: when the camera goes off, they all go out for drinks together. been putting on the same show for almost 100 years.
nickwatchesthis 2 years ago 3
The Unconscious Empire... I LOVE IT! It's extremely accurate! I'll be using that in the near future.
grumpherys 2 years ago 3
Both parties are fucking up horribly. The republicans have completely lost thier way and the democrats seem to be moving away from the checks and balances of capitalism to giving away money to major corporations. This has been the biggest robbery of all time.
Mind you it started under Bush but now continues under Obama and Geithner.

DEA are raiding poeple such as myself for having medical marijuana. It's more than a ''stupid plant''. do some research, retard.
buffalosouljah18 2 years ago 3
It's clear that many people who submitted a question referring to its legalization were more concerned with getting high than it's medical values, and in that case the DEA needs to brighten up against people who need it and were therefore subscribed it.
SoySauceInAShotGlass 2 years ago 2

--The researchers were surprised
The cancer rate on people
greatbroad 2 years ago
(sorry)
The cancer rate on people who smoked both cigs and pot also was surprising because it also was much lower than the cigs alone group.
Is there something in marijuana that protects the body from developing cancer? They are wondering...
greatbroad 2 years ago
Yea, I know about this research. Marijuana kills cancer cells. Point blank. That's why you will never hear someone dieing from marijuana. Ignorant old folks are always going to deny it because they've been taught to discriminate against users, however generation X has the internet to get all this information out. Obama can make light of this issue but it will never go away. What does this say about the online community? We're much more smarter than you Obama.
buffalosouljah18 2 years ago
Obama thinks as good as he bowls when it comes to pot.
greatbroad 2 years ago
Obama knows that he would be wasting his political capital if he took on the pot prohibition issue. He needs all of his capitol for his budget with reforms on HealthCare, Energy, Education and Environment.
MonsterSound 2 years ago
He doesn't need to "take it on," but to pretend that the question isn't valid, or to imply that the people asking this question are stoners, is only a display of either cowardice or ignorance.
It's the same attitude that marginalized DFHs about the economy, the wars, and is currently keeping us out of the loop on dealing with Wall Street, Afghanistan, health care and education.
Obama is proving he doesn't take progressive reform of failed policies seriously. At least he has the Blue Dogs.
kusotarre 2 years ago
were "much more" smarter than you obama................your bad grammer is not helping your argument.
Product1999 2 years ago
What about your grammar? *We're *Your...not.* At least I can use capitals and stay away from run-ons. LOL
buffalosouljah18 2 years ago
it is incredible that you set such a high standard for yourself especially on important sites like youtube. Continue to take pride in your capitals and complete sentences and let Obama run the country.
Product1999 2 years ago
Lol, says the one who wanted talk about grammar in the first place. Dude, you contradict yourself too much. I'm laughing at you. Obama is just another puppet. Medical Marijuana hypocrisy and now war hypocrisy. Keep being the puppet's puppet. Lol.
buffalosouljah18 2 years ago
i didn't want to talk about grammar specifically, the substance of my statement was a person whose intention is to exhibit erudite qualities undermines the impact of their statement by using bad grammar. It wasn't the grammar more than it was the impotence your bad grammar gave to your original statement. In regards to Obama it seems that most Americans voted for Obama which is why he won, so in essence you are an outsider in a nation of puppets.
Product1999 2 years ago
Sure, it's easy to point out a 15 year old's grammar than to argue against his strong point. Most Americans are sheeps, so thank-you, I take being an outsider a compliment. =) Keep ''bailing out'' your so incisive and profound President. I'm a young black male, however, I never swallowed that first Black President bullshit. Medical marijuana hypocrisy, gun hypocrisy, and now war hypocrisy. I'll vote for the right people in 2012.
buffalosouljah18 2 years ago

Product1999 2 years ago
Proof there isn't a God, because no force on earth could have created such an idiot. The dumb bama said, ''No, I don't think it would ''grow'' our economy''. The question wasn't asking if bama thought that marijuana could increase our economy. The question asked bama if it made sense to legalize marijuana because it's filling up prisons. His memory is shorter than a fish. Either that or he wanted to minipulate the question.
buffalosouljah18 2 years ago
I don't smoke marijuana and I never tried it, therefore your idiottic assumption fails. I see the benefits from it and under bama's administration a California medical marijuana shop was raided by the DEA ( Drug Enforcement Administration ) even though bama promised the raids would stop. That's the hypocrisy I was talking about. Notice that I said ''medical marijuana'', if you could read.
buffalosouljah18 2 years ago
And you contradict with yourself again. You keep bringing up grammar whilst telling me to stop. No I still have a voice because in 2012 I will be able to vote and idiots like you will hopefully be dead.
buffalosouljah18 2 years ago
you keep saying I contradict myself yet fail to show how.
Product1999 2 years ago
Let me show you where you contradict yourself. You keep saying that I should stop bringing up grammar, yet you pick and choose small grammatic errors of mine. That's contradiction if you didn't know. What's the future? The youth, my friend. Bama is making sure we pay for today's debt. I have the right to be concerned and voice my opinions, like many other future debt collectors.

I think he doesnt want any more distractions now. We have to many problems right now to try to deal with such divisive and emotional like legalizing pot, I think if they bring that up it wil be during his 2nd term. That is if by then enough Americans are willing to look at this subject in an honest way.
patitofeo76 2 years ago 5
but by legalizing pot a lot of the BS that we are having to deal with now would be less. More taxes would be raised, less on fighting the war on drugs, less crime. more people working. Better for the envierment as we can start to use Hemp to make millions of thing including BioFules
masterhook 2 years ago
@ masterhook
No worries, masterhook. Pandora's box has been opened. Obama didn't even answer the question the way it had been put to him - he fudged it. The blowback is going to be fierce, and I'm already seeing it happen.
Nixon ordered an in-depth study on marijuana and the reason nobody uses it's stats is because it identified alcohol as the 'gateway' drug. The Shafer Report also states marijuana has NO LONGTERM EFFECTS and does not kill - impossible to overdose.
The Shafer Report !!!

as someone who smokes from time to time when I need it to help me sleep and sometimes for the fun of it I know its good and bad parts. I know when I smoke I dont wake up the next day feeling like crap and cant work. When I drink yea that happens. there are a million reasons why pot should be legal, time we see it for what it is and just grow up.
masterhook 2 years ago
I'm with you... but I 'm just pointing out that even if he recognizes that keeping marihuana ilegal is stupid and counter-productive, the issue is something that the political opposition, the religious right and the media are going to make it impossible for any President to deal with this issue. I think it would probably take a good 20 years before pot is legalized.
