I saw him live this year and he's amazing! He play 3 hours! As long as he play when he was young.. it think is unbeliveble! And he sounds so great.... absolutly amazing...
I was just listening to an old recording of him when he was 22, 23. Amazing, he sounded the same back then as he does now. He had an old voice then. Great stuff.
Ah, Peter...you take me back to carefree days filled with wide eyed wonderment of the future. I was having the time of my life during this time, loving life, looking for love and not really caring about anything except the moment. I got everything I wanted and more, but how the memories flood back to those beautiful carefree days.
He was touring through my area last summer when a woman walked in to a show with her little boy, all of the seats were first come first serve and full and the man stopped his show that had just began and asked the woman to please come up to the front with her little boy and gave them the best seats in the house! What a true human being Mr. Peter Frampton is, as I witnessed this first hand! :)
Other than losing his hair (we all do as we aged, ain't we?), Peter is still super charming & dynamiting as ever. Honestly, I now appreciate the guy more than I did when I was a youngster. He was very good then, only becomes even better as he ages. Shine.....Shine...............Shine!!!
You don't get to be a great song writer and performer without understanding the Jazz roots to Rock and Peter Frampton illustrates his depth of knowledge well here. Fantastic.
@andrewtones the only thing I can guess about that ...is someone must be rating the different versions of the song...only 1 like the rest dislike..which isn't a dislike but a rating :S
I really like this version; much truer to the original studio version that came off his “Frampton” album, which preceded “…Comes Alive.” The studio version is more of a soulful ballad with a slower tempo than the live version, which is the one most people remember. I saw him in the spring of ‘77 at Wings Stadium in Kalamazoo Michigan when he was on tour promoting “…Comes Alive”. Opening acts were Montrose, with Sammy Hagar still on lead vocals, and the Steve Gibbons Band. Great show.
@2attached Those are In-ear monitors. basically, when performing live, people have amplifiers that point directly at them. instead what is more common now is for people to use in ear monitors. This way they can hear exactly what their bandmates are playing (so they can all play together) with it not being as loud (since the traditional monitors would have to be REALLY LOUD, and possibly causing hearing problems later on)
Everytime I listen to this song tears almost come to my eyes in pure happiness for such a good song. So sad today there're no songs that can make you feel that way... Thanks God we've got cds and dvds for enjoying that wonderful music...
wow !!!!! il a tellement bien vieillit !!!! c est une si belle leçon de passion bien vécue !!! il a vraiment sa musike dans le sang... direct au coeur !!! bravo !!!! :-))
yeah.i watched the whole thing when they had it on tv.they had it where you could order that night with a ton of other dvd's that i didn't want for like $150 or something

not hearing aids, something to do with the backround noise of the amps, better for them to hear their own singing voice.
