  • blender is awesome, but impossible for tons of people to use...

  • @darkdorkninja I agree - I'm only learning it myself and it is pretty hard to understand but I wouldn't use anything else

  • BLENDER 4 EVER

  • Did this with endorphin LE

  • How did you give an initial speed to the ball?

  • @Mutusen I would assume that there is a ramp outside of the camera view and it is set to start at -100 so it is about at the end of the ramp at the beggining of the animation.

  • Tutorial?

  • @Jediknight846 There is "Record game physics to IPO" under the "Game" tab. Select it and play your game. Then play animation!

  • cool, nice job

  • Whenever I start the domino effect in blender I start the game engine and my dominos just fall down through the plane. Even before I do an game engine animation it does this. Help?

  • i dont really think bullet 3d was the best physics engine made... its a little off

  • Physx are too slow.. you need faster settings, this is not real time..

  • That's Awsome!

How long did it take to render?

  • errrr. don't you mean you used the GAME ENGINE of blender and pressed P so show it? Cause if there is another way to do it please tell me where to look for

  • you should use anim8or and cre8or together is great phisics

  • Norman899: Lalalala.. Oooohhh, a Soccer Ball!

    Norman899: * Kicks *

Blossommerz: Lalalalala.. Done with my Structure :D

    * Ball hits the Structure *

    Blossommerz: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, what happened!?

Norman899: * Findz Ball * Oh, there it is!

Blossommerz: Hey, is this your ball?

    Norman899: Yes.

    Blossommerz: * Smacks *

    The End.

  • Awesome!

  • neat

  • COOL!:D

  • awesome!

  • Good job, and I'm sorry for hitting your structure with my golf ball xD

  • oops...i didnt do it!

  • Bet it took four hours to render! Good job though.

  • Actually, it's the sim baking that would have taken the most amount of time here, as it is all very simple shapes, not the rendering.

  • Nah, not hours, It depends on weather he had some effects on...

  • WOW!! that was very realistic!!!

  • how do you render while playing it? cos wen i hit p it just ends up showing me the untextured models

  • You should turn on "Record physics to IPO", so all motion (except script) will record to ipo curves...

  • Wow, this must have taken a lot of time to render, with the radiosity and all... it looks great!

  • i have a question: how do you stack them without space between them so they dont sink together when you hit play?

  • i need help when i stack my thing high i hit p to test it out but then bricks smash down then bounce back up. i need help. i zoom in as far as i can so they are as close as they can be but they still smash down. any help?

  • that looks cool excellent vid a gold star for you

  • woulda been better in real time

  • cooooooooooool

  • hey i need to know how do i render the animation? or do i have to do it frame bye frame?

  • in Game up in the top klick on " Record Game Physics to IPO "

klick on it and press " P " and after that ALT + A and you will see the animation.

  • 3DS is much better, but much expensive...

  • that is a free, open source program called blender. its also very easy to use.

  • this is the program blender. he said that "3D studio Max" is better but expensive

  • he said much expensive but blender is free

  • Only easy when you learn the trillions of different functions lol

  • ya, but i have tried 3DS, and i still don't understand it as much as blender

  • I meant blender had trillions of functions. Once youve learnt the basics, then it is surprisingly quick how fast you pick up the rest

  • I can not for the life of me figure out blender. I understand how to use it but some of the windows dont do anything and they are abreviated so I cant figure out what they do. I have been so pissed off about it because I want to make things like this.

  • hey, if you want to find out how to do it watch super3boys tutorial on dominoes, its very easy, you could do this in a minute.

  • liphttam: Agent47crows is definitely worth a look

  • The physics engine blender uses is called: Bullet 3D and is open source. just google it

  • How do I make it faster :S ?? that's really slow, I need to do It faster, like a real collision

  • question:how to color the dominos

    ???

  • press "F5" add a new material and give them the color you want.

  • goood pc

  • is this free?

  • yup

  • jep goto blender org

  • it says cnt run programm zib.dll was not found?

  • how do you make colors look realistic

  • At 0:27 I thought it was going to survive but alas, it did not.

  • i have two questions how do you select groups of objects?

and how to you fire items?

  • wow! hem how do you made the ball go in the domino tower ? cauz i try to make it an hard body actor ect ans the dominos to but when i press P all just kinda explod and goes into every direction possible

  • Slooooo mooooooo

  • its not a slow motion, blender its like it ;)

  • sorry I marked that as spam I was trying to reply lol. A pyhton script can make it normal speed btw.

  • lol must have taken ages to build

  • cool, though the physics is a little messed up. the falling isn't very realistic- it looks they're box-shaped balloons or something.

  • Wow that was cool. Whenever I try to use rigid bodies, I start the game and it just goes to a gray screen. I tried re-installing it and it didn't help.

  • I have the same...you probably have an ati card right? Let me know if you resolve this please :)

  • Yes I Have ab ATI card. I tried Installing an older version(2.45) and I Encountered another glitch where, whenever I add an object instead of appearing normally, it appears with the top facing me. I reinstalled Blender 2.46 to try to get rid of it, but somehow it carried over to that version. :(

  • then press ALT + R to reset rotation

  • Cool. Thanks alot! Now I just have to fix the grey screen... =p

  • How did you make the objects snap perfectly to each other?

  • coooolness. one thing i found odd though was that the dominoes did not bounce when they hit the ground, as real dominoes would.

  • yes some do, it's becoz there landing on each other, also ther not falling that fast,

  • thats true, i forget that they arent that big, the camera is zoomed in. u sorta need a shoe or somethin to help u put things into perspective.

  • Well THAT must've taken a while to record... You should set the gravity up.

  • Hell, dude! It's amazing! What was the rendertime for this beauty?? (AO isn't exactly a quick sketch, as we all know by now)

  • looks like people are inside it

    people inside it: HELP!!

  • Yes make little people objects on top of it! LOL

  • did u make the ball an actor if so how did u make it move on its own?

  • hey i tried to make something a lot like this. but when i would stack anything it would just sorta hop around. up and down i mean. i had the bounds set to box and everything should have been working but it never did. did you have this problem?

  • I also had that problem!

  • i'm screwing around with the physics as well!

  • So cool! I also found this other animation, Plythora Particle Animation (maybe by the same guy?)

    You should check it out!

    God Bless

  • OMG you created this tower??? i cant create BOX or something like that in BLENDER... i dont understand how to modelling o BLENDER.... and how to texture models in it!!!

  • Cool!

  • awsome

  • how do you make it so when the ball hits the dominoes they move? when i try to make something collide and move something the moving object just bounces off the other one and that one doesn't move? HELP!!!

  • try making the mass of the hitting object high. like 100 and make sure the objects you want to hit have low mass. the mass button is found just under the button dynamic which you press when using physics on an object. just tweak these and you'll find the one you want

  • One of the better physics test in blender. Really good.

  • Looked real, can it be speeded up easily? And, pardon me for asking, but what is "blender"?

  • Blender is a 3D modelling program.

By the way, can you do realtime physics in blender? Just without textures or something?

  • Thanks Mathijsweb, any way you can post a link to a download site?

  • blender . org

  • Thanks, I have it on my computer now and am in the process of trying to figure it out.

  • its free go get it

  • Quite realistic indeed.

  • nice
