More and more people are stealing and taking other people's dogs as these dog rescue places urge people not to hand in dogs to the shelters. Less and less people are giving charity to our shelters and are persuading people to donate to them instead.
i rescued an injured cat like 1year. nobody came to help it. pplsay: dont pick up that cat! but i said no u cant stop me and i carried it and then i told to my teacher (that time when i was coming to school.) as i carried it, it felt cold and shivering it was scared of me. it got away and i found it again i got him/her i hold the cat saw cars as i walk. it jumped out of my hand after that the princible called the vet and the saw it the princible said: its gonna be ok. as i walk i wanted to cry.
Two years ago, I adopted my dog after she had been abused. If we did not adopt her, they were going to uthinize her. She was very shy and would never let anyone pet her. Now she is the most loving dog and loves to be held and played with. ♥

I am not a dog lover but I wont stand for any asshole hurting one.You would have to hurt me first. I went a step further when I saw a small gray kitten next to a dumpster I came to it but certain it would run away with fear. Well, this one came to me and I looked into his eyes,then something inside me snapped and I yelled YOUR'E SO FURRY!then I reached and placed him in my backpack and took him home.When he got older i had him neutered and then he became 100% USELESS but a very good friend.
I got my dog from a petshop I know it's not the best choice but I went to the shelter hoping to find a healthy dog but all of them had some ingury or infection so I got one from the petshop for 50 bucks plz don't get mad I just couldn't afford all the extra money you have pay for a ingured or infected dog since the vet cost a lot of money I just wanted a companion it really didn't matter what dog I got

its just so annoying because they make it so hard for you to get a dog =/ even after all the paperwork and time and emotions you put into it, there's a chance you won't even get it. it's heartbreaking, to say the least. i just went through it...twice. i wanted to save a life but it's so difficult. i think that's part of the reason why people go buy a puppy. at least you know once you fall in love with it, it'll go home with you.
Obviously youve never met a liscensed breeder go look one up and email them asking for a copy of their buyers contract especially breeders for recognized breeds who specialize in a maximum of 2 breeds, read it so you dont sound ignorant by saying theres no such thing as a responsible breeder, pet mill breeders arent the only breeders.
I just adopted a german short hair pointer/german shepard/greyhound/lab/ BUT, he is the best dog i could ever wish for. he was put in a kill shelter in north carolina and then this organization called B.O.N.E.S adopted him and was placed in out local pet smart for the national adoption week. the second i saw him he looked up with these sad eyes begging to have a home. so long story short we adopted him :D. hes still only 7 months old but so far hes been living his life as happy as a clam :D

@mewtwo9887, it's good you adopted her, up until recently the state of Utah required shelters to surrender animals to medical science. Your dog could have found herself as a test animal when it's been proven that in vitro methods are so much more accurate. Good for you for rescueing her

I wrk at a No Kill shelter in DE..people will remain to ignore this problem until they see for themselfs.. Even the most "responsible" breeder...(NO SUCH THING) can't control what happens to dogs when they leave your care..that's when they end up in our care... Let's say you helped birth 50 pups and you sold them out to good homes..(SO U THINK) More then half were abused in some way or ended up in a shelter or dead... That's why people get pissed when u think it's OK to be a breeder..

I'm all about adopting a dog, I did 8 years ago (Coco RIP) and I just did again yesterday, but the breeders that sell, what happens to the dogs that don't get sold? And they get too big for them to keep? My guess is they will end up in a pound eventually. A never ending cycle.

Last week i asked my mom if we could get a dog ( i already have 2) and she said no. I said ur rite buying a dog is worse can we go to a shelter and adopt a dog instead. Someone gave them a chance, many were rehabilitated and are wonderful, loyal pets. I have 9 shelter dogs, have fostered many, they are so grateful to have been given a second chance.
Most shelters in the UK dont look like that, I once worked at one and the kennel's looked like that, but cleaner.. We also made sure every dog was taken for atleast one walk a day and had time in the run each day. We also washed every cage every day and groomed each dog.. Also spending time cuddling/playing each dog ^-^ But hey.. Mabye that was just the place I worked.. I hope its the same all over the UK atleast
write or e mail any pet shops in your area that sell puppies. tell them u wont shop there any longer and include how much u spend per month on pets...incl. food, treats, toys, bedding,collars, etc... the only way to get them to stop is to let them see a loss of money.

I have adopted parrots, dogs and cats. One was a full bread border collie. Her mother got killed. I tried to get my sister to adopt rather than buy on two occasions, what did she get? Two defective and eventually sick.

try contacting the local pound/ shelter in your area. like the local SPCA or ASPCA if youre in nyc. They're ALWAYS looking for volunteers (cleaning cages, walking, etc). I hope this helps
In my country you can adopt virtualy, meaning that you pay for a dog or many dogs for as long as you like in order to provide them with space food medicine in a shelter. In this way you make sure they keep their life in there. However, this means the space is kept and other dogs can't stay in the future. This cannot really solve the problem . This option is for people who want to help but cannot keep the dog at their homes.
you made all the difference in the world to the 3 dogs you adopted, and that is the most anyone can expect. If enough individuals went and adopted a dog, plus a good spay and neuter program, it would make one hell of a difference. I have one dog that I got from the local pound and there's another on the way from a southern shelter, so I'm going my part.

i adopted my baby simon about 4 months ago, he was 6 when i adopted him, i love my boy!! he's just the most lovable mutt, my parents bought from a breeder, when they met simon, they regreted not adopting, he is 10x more behaved then their 350 buck puebred breaks my heart.

As a longtime employee of an animal shelter, this is my reality. Thank you for helping to spread the "don't buy" message. Maybe I'm a dreamer, but I believe that if they REALLY knew the magnitude of the overpopulation problem, people would care. Not everyone is going to care, there are always a few lost causes, but most people are GOOD and want to help. There are so many ways to do so, but the most important thing people can do is TALK. Maybe we can make a difference in the longrun. :)

I am not a dog lover but I wont stand for any asshole hurting one.You would have to hurt me first. I went a step further when I saw a small gray kitten next to a dumpster I came to it but certain it would run away with fear. Well, this one came to me and I looked into his eyes,then something inside me snapped and I yelled YOUR'E SO FURRY!then I reached and placed him in my backpack and took him home.When he got older i had him neutered and then he became 100% USELESS but a very good friend.

I got my dog from a petshop I know it's not the best choice but I went to the shelter hoping to find a healthy dog but all of them had some ingury or infection so I got one from the petshop for 50 bucks plz don't get mad I just couldn't afford all the extra money you have pay for a ingured or infected dog since the vet cost a lot of money I just wanted a companion it really didn't matter what dog I got

its just so annoying because they make it so hard for you to get a dog =/ even after all the paperwork and time and emotions you put into it, there's a chance you won't even get it. it's heartbreaking, to say the least. i just went through it...twice. i wanted to save a life but it's so difficult. i think that's part of the reason why people go buy a puppy. at least you know once you fall in love with it, it'll go home with you.

I just adopted a german short hair pointer/german shepard/greyhound/lab/ BUT, he is the best dog i could ever wish for. he was put in a kill shelter in north carolina and then this organization called B.O.N.E.S adopted him and was placed in out local pet smart for the national adoption week. the second i saw him he looked up with these sad eyes begging to have a home. so long story short we adopted him :D. hes still only 7 months old but so far hes been living his life as happy as a clam :D

i got a dog from the shelter from a pound in enoch utah and her names maya (mahya) and she hates other animals even little puppys but i still love her i need to be very careful with her she loves one person only thats me ive got most of my dogs from shelters only one from a breeder and he was a great dane he sadly died from parvo rest in peace amadane and maya also loves to go on runs and shes a labrador pittbullmixx

I wrk at a No Kill shelter in DE..people will remain to ignore this problem until they see for themselfs.. Even the most "responsible" breeder...(NO SUCH THING) can't control what happens to dogs when they leave your care..that's when they end up in our care... Let's say you helped birth 50 pups and you sold them out to good homes..(SO U THINK) More then half were abused in some way or ended up in a shelter or dead... That's why people get pissed when u think it's OK to be a breeder..

I'm all about adopting a dog, I did 8 years ago (Coco RIP) and I just did again yesterday, but the breeders that sell, what happens to the dogs that don't get sold? And they get too big for them to keep? My guess is they will end up in a pound eventually. A never ending cycle.

Most shelters in the UK dont look like that, I once worked at one and the kennel's looked like that, but cleaner.. We also made sure every dog was taken for atleast one walk a day and had time in the run each day. We also washed every cage every day and groomed each dog.. Also spending time cuddling/playing each dog ^-^ But hey.. Mabye that was just the place I worked.. I hope its the same all over the UK atleast

Its people that breed just for money and people that think it would be fun to have a litter. Another thing, there is absolutely NOTHING second rate about a shelter, in temperament, beauty, loyalty etc. A shelter dog can match the best any pedigree dog has.

try contacting the local pound/ shelter in your area. like the local SPCA or ASPCA if youre in nyc. They're ALWAYS looking for volunteers (cleaning cages, walking, etc). I hope this helps

In my country you can adopt virtualy, meaning that you pay for a dog or many dogs for as long as you like in order to provide them with space food medicine in a shelter. In this way you make sure they keep their life in there. However, this means the space is kept and other dogs can't stay in the future. This cannot really solve the problem . This option is for people who want to help but cannot keep the dog at their homes.

you made all the difference in the world to the 3 dogs you adopted, and that is the most anyone can expect. If enough individuals went and adopted a dog, plus a good spay and neuter program, it would make one hell of a difference. I have one dog that I got from the local pound and there's another on the way from a southern shelter, so I'm going my part.
The best thing that can be said is that shelter dogs aren't second rate, and I think you'll agree with me on that.

i saved a dog from the street 2 year ago she had puppy i went through a rescue and they found good home every one of her puppy i,m like you people need to have ther animal spayed and neutered

that video all most made me cryed imagine they re is alot of great dogs but they have bad owners so they were left in the dark and cold and miserable shelters ... if you see those cage and exacly like a prison for them SO ADOPT DOGS it doesn t cost alot and you give a home to those poor dogs AND!!!! also do you guys know what they do to dogs that is not wanted... they put them to sleep... imagine they just want a HOME only that so please adopt dogs

i adopted my baby simon about 4 months ago, he was 6 when i adopted him, i love my boy!! he's just the most lovable mutt, my parents bought from a breeder, when they met simon, they regreted not adopting, he is 10x more behaved then their 350 buck puebred breaks my heart.

i have adopted a dog before, but it was an abused dog, i tried to help it but it kept lashing out, untill one time it did it caught me, badly, so i had to let it go, i have a dog at the moment and i found her in the streets, i'll post some video coments too and in them are a picture of my dog, she used to be skinny with no hair

As a longtime employee of an animal shelter, this is my reality. Thank you for helping to spread the "don't buy" message. Maybe I'm a dreamer, but I believe that if they REALLY knew the magnitude of the overpopulation problem, people would care. Not everyone is going to care, there are always a few lost causes, but most people are GOOD and want to help. There are so many ways to do so, but the most important thing people can do is TALK. Maybe we can make a difference in the longrun. :)

how can i get the word out across in the states of alabama my brother saw a lots of animal at a shelter put in a dumster that they put to sleep i rescue 1 from a street i wish i could own them all put i can,t rescue all the animal my sister had 3 dogs my brother has 1 dog

OMg this is sooo sad those poor dogs its more than 1.9 million are being euthanized its about 15 million, all of my GSDs are adopted and u know wat sometimes dogs that came from shelters are more smarter and sweeter than from pet stores or breeders poor dogs i hope pplz will have a heart and stop breeding their dogs alot soo euthanizing will decrease or stop! luv ur video
