  • The intro sounds like something vivaldi would make

  • Intro song was beautiful...

The baroque period was definitely one of my favorites. I would have had included Pachelbel's Canon. Try searching on youtube: "Johann Pachelbel Canon in D Major Fantastic version, classical music.

  • Just to precise... Baroque music has many combinations of instruments and VOICES...

I just think that this video gives a bit the impression that baroque is orchestra music.

And I smiled I have to admit on corelli played on piano...

  • Nice compilation for beginners. Hope it will help many people discover the incredible beauty of this musique. You should also include the "Passacaglie" from Lully's "Armide" as well as some airs from George Frederic Handel's operas ( especially "Giulio Cessare", "Rinaldo" and "Alcina" ) - you'll finsd all that on youtube, generally in several versions. You will be overwhelmed - I'm sure.

  • I adore Vivaldi and Bach! :D

  • Thank you for making me discover such great composers! I knew and loved Vivaldi, Bach and Handel but that was pretty much everything I knew about baroque. Thank you again!

  • love this music

  • Best music ever... such beauty, technique and elegance

  • isso é que de fato é música pra alma. se a gente fechar os olhos e só ouvir, estaremos por alguns momentos viajando por lugares magníficos que só mesmo nossa alma sabe onde. magnifica música.

  • I think you forgot to mention F. Couperin, A. Lotti and J.F. de Iribarren, but no matter, that was great, thank you ;)

  • I believe Baroque is most definately one of the peaking periods of epic complexity in classical music history.

  • hay quá hay ghê tôi yêu baroque ^^~~

  • Can you please upload a full version of Allegro ma non Troppo by George Friederich Handel? I cant find the same exact piece anywhere. Either the tempo is faster or its in another range.

  • Personally I think Monteverdi is both Renaissance and Baroque, one of the reason's why he's so amazing.

  • The Handel concerto grosso is far too slow

  • the song that starts at 3:00 I've played it with my high school band :3

  • how to download a musical score that is easy.

  • I read somewhere that Sinfonia Terzo Tuono was composed by Biagio Marini. Is that true or was it really Montiverdi who composed it?

  • What is the name of the Henry Purcell piece?

  • vivaldii the best

  • The name of the piece composed by Claudio Monteverdi in this video is called Sinfonia Terzo tuono. A very short piece.

  • What is the name of the piece in 1:38?

  • my teacher said i will be more focus on studying if i listen to baroque music and it did help me^^ yay

  • what's with the piano playing Corelli's music? it should be harpsichord...

  • @UKpatriot90 it's a normal piano here

  • @DafniElissa yes but it should be a harpsichord instead of a piano, the piano was invented way after Corelli's days...

  • @UKpatriot90 I know it! But it's not correct to think that piano was invented later (Bartolomeo Cristofori created in the last years od 1600), you have to know that a few people already played the piano in the Baroque age, but it was not popular nor appreciated. Conclusion: of course it is not right that they use a piano in that orechestra! but piano already existed, just they wouldn't use it there, at that time.

  • well it gained popularity around 1710 anyway, almost after Corelli's death...

  • @UKpatriot90 So would you have also told Horowitz not to play Scarlatti on the piano too? I love harpichord music but sometimes the piano gives a whole new meaning to a piece - no different than John Williams playing it on a guitar.

  • 2:52 i never knew anthrax borrowed this song and used it in the ending of "gung-ho"

  • OMG, Where's Lully??

  • ahhh! now this is real music! love it!

  • What is the name of the piece composed by Claudio Monteverdi that is featured on this video?

  • @yryu2 Sinfonia Terzo tuono

  • @yryu2 Sinfonia Terzo tuono

  • @yryu2 all titles and composers are in the information.

  • @adrich16 The information regarding the Monteverdi piece is not accurate; either the title or the name of the composer is wrong.

  • @nyo267n so what is the right title and composer?

  • @adrich16 I don't know. Someone has suggested Marini, who has written something with that very title, but that's not the one. Perhaps both title and composer is wrong.

  • Whats the name of the song by telemann? thx

  • Whats the name of the song by telemann. thx

  • Incredible and fantastic arrangement of music! Good job!

  • What is name of song played by Claudio Monteverdi??

  • does baropue make we smarter ?

  • @MrBuzzlightyear114 there's always hope

  • Anyone know the song name by Telemann?

  • I feel that Baroque music makes me lose my concentration when I study, because I just listen to the music and do nothing :)

  • @Krichardvn94 try ritalin

  • Ah, the world sounded like such a peaceful and happy time then. Assuming this music reflects the times, I would rather live during this period than any other since the middle ages.

  • @kleban10 Lol, learn anything about history and be glad you were born recently.

  • But why are most of these performances by modern intruments, when nowadays it would be relatively easy to get Historically Informed performances very easily? It kinda destroys the feeling. Nice idea anyway and barock rocks ;)

  • Great video, but at least one of the two Scarlatti were to be put...

  • Music doesn't get any better than this!

  • just love it!!!

  • Thanks for posting this! Very informative.

  • a very nice and fun video - thanks for the upload....

Purcell is still my number one for chamber pieces, Handle for those passionate operas...

  • Very awesome video ! for me , Vivaldi is number one !

  • We do need for sure the name of Claudio Monteverdi's piece

  • What is the name of the second piece by J.S Bach? I love it but can't seem to find the whole piece anywhere. First time I heard was me watching "Patriot" with Mel Gibson, that scene where they ignite the powder room in a british ship anchored in a bay.

  • @FoxDonut77 Yeah I'm trying to find out what it's called too I'll let you know if I find anything. I also heard it in The Patriot but I've heard it before then.

  • @FoxDonut77 I found it, it's called Violin concerto NO.2 in E major 3rd movement

  • Bello!

  • I love the very first piece with the violin. What is it?

  • Tell me please if you know what the melody is called 1:09 SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH

  • @dfgyslk

The bit beginning at 1:09, by C. Monteverdi, sounds like something from a piece he wrote called "L'Orfeo".

I could be very wrong, and I know it's a long one to check - But it *is* worth checking if you really liked it! :P

  • 1.43 nice haircut, he probably got all the chicks in that day. But Tchaikovksy is not in this era he is in the romantic period so that is my favorite. I'm also a quite romantic guy and less baroque so...

  • Ah, music`s never been so beautiful...There`s something so exceptional, graceful, magnificent, indescribable about Baroque music that makes me shiver every time I hear a sample of a Baroque piece. There`s nothing like it and it`s so beautiful it makes me cry.

  • what is the name of the song in the very beginning with two violins playing together..It is a very NICE TOUCH and sets the mood for a Most Enjoyable Video! Thank U. .=)

  • thank you

  • what obout Jeremiah clarke

  • renaissance music is great to composers Vincenzo Galilei Orlando Gibbons

  • what about Girolamo Frescobaldi 1585-1643

  • The first is marc-antoine charpentier prelude

  • I prefer clubland :P jk

  • I must say I find Baroque the best classical music era ever. These are all great composers but I must say bach is the best of them all!!!! and then handel. But I like all of their music.

  • @quinn244

Baroque music predates Classical music. The era's are commonly divided into Baroque, then Classical, then Romantic, etc. :)

  • Bach's harpsichord concerto no.1 in D minor is the best. You can search it on youtube if you like.

  • And......Sacarlatti ?

  • I like your selections, but you can't leave out Dieterich Buxtehude. He anticipates the Romantic Age in the emotional power of his music. Whenever I play him I marvel at the depth of feeling he is able to convey through Baroque conventions. He anticipates Chopin by 180 years. Get into Buxtehude; you'll grow to love him.

  • what song is the one that monteverdi composed?

  • what is name of music at 1:14 please

  • @dfgyslk i belive it is La Folia by Corelli.

  • Lully my friend. Jean-Baptiste Lully!

  • What is the song by Claudio Monteverdi called? I really like it :)

  • @hr412 it is "Sinfonia Terzo tuono" ;)

  • @evilblades Oh, thank you very much! :)

  • what is the opening piece?

  • just great...fantastic...amazing! Even better, u saved Vivaldi 4 last! like da saying, save da best 4 last...next time, but Bach wit Vivaldi 4 da last ones. Corelli was great 2!

  • Who composed the opening piece?

  • Vivaldi 1st ,Bach a close 2nd.

  • bach - vivaldi the best

  • @wilm987 dont forget about händel.

  • some styles of music make people drive fast, kill, suicide or whatever... i guess one can't do something bad while listenning to baroque music... it's one of the best things on earth humankind experienced. this era of music was really strong enough so that it's still alive... on the best invention of this century (internet), we listen to 1600s-1700s' music... what a joy... thanks for this post...

  • What is the names of the songs?

  • I think I'd much rather be rich back then than today.I also really like baroque music because I get this weird feeling of adventure from it.

  • Comment removed

  • what is the name of the 1st song? Or do someone have the code of it?

  • vivaldi's the lastest, does that mean he's #1?
