was a huge Edberg fan as well... remember these finals at the All England Club, really loved him, so what if he dint win a single game against Becker after this, in the count that matters Edberg is 3-1 in slams or 2-1 in Wimbledon finals.. liked Boris too as I just hated the yanks baring Sampras, but he was a very boring player..after years of adoration, the year after Edberg called it quits, he gave birth to a son, and he shares the same birthday as me.. was sublimely happy later when i knew
Becker was great, but he got involved in scandals and had intercourse in a cupboard, he is a terrible role model for morality, despite being a great tennis player.
I remember that after this 3rd final in a row everyone expected a long rivalary between the two players ... but they never met in wimbledon again and none of the two won the champioships again ...
@bar78de Interesting point. It's sort of a sad thing neither of them won again, because they were so amazing on grass. I must say I was such an enormous fan of Edberg and I never liked Becker much.
Such a shame Edberg didn't beat Stich in the 1991 semifinal. As you'll probably remember, Edberg didn't lose his serve in that match. Had he won it, it would have been the fourth consecutive final against Becker. But looking back, I preferred him losing to Stich in the semifinal as opposed to losing in the final against Beckter (unless Edberg would have come back to beat Becker in the 1992 final.)

What a great video, also because of all the quotes I'd never seen before! This is my favorite match of all time. I was such a huge Edberg fan.

Edberg was really ice-cool, I think he was even more relaxed than Borg.
