The Funk Mob had been doing the "satanic finger signs" since Funkadelic started touring in the early 70's, predating the metal groups who used it. At every single P-funk concert they do that because they were the ones who invented it and it's all about the P...and if you didn't know, Bootsy was a very important component of P-Funk and got his own group from them, hence "Bootsy's Rubber Band."
