@carterc1sou Photoshop can be a lot more complex but powerful. If you want to do basic stuff, GIMP is your best bet, since no one buys Photoshop for basic editing and if they do, they're misguided.

@michael10725 you can get different skins for gimp, and he has his tool box set to where he likes it, once you get in an screw with it a little your gimp will look the same. ...or different but different from the og.

GIMP is terrible compared to photoshop. It's extremely difficult to learn

@michael10725 It's the development version of GIMP(i.e 2.7) with new features and GIMP has always been free.
