They don't bend when dry before use. Once you start using the sponges they almost immediately get soft and last a long time, years depending on how often you use and for what purpose. Gotta keep them clean, maybe soak in white vinegar and water every once in a while. A shower sponge could be recycled for another use after 6 months if rinsed out and allowed to dry a bit every day.

@Dsfreak1397 Sorry for the late reply! They are soft once you start using them and last a years depending on what you use them for. Some folks use them in the shower of course but I've heard of people using them as dish sponges because they won't scratch but do scrub off the grub!
