@snowskatesnow To be fair I think it was a deliberate decision to allow the crowds to get rowdy and cheer and shout during the play. It is more difficult for the players no doubt but makes for a more vibrant atmosphere at the venue and on TV.
The caption guy has been waiting for many years to press the button that brings up FIRST PERFECT GAME IN A TELEVISED MATCH. Credit to him for bringing it up so instantly

the audiences clearly showed so much respect back then...could probably hear a pin drop whilst he was throwing - would never happen in todays game.
