Wow.. you have beautiful nails (: I would do this design but my nails are a little short and it won't look right. lol. and um.. where did you get your brush..?(: plz reply.
@ilovegeorgeharrison4 I'm really not sure other than don't bite them! You can try to find a thing you paint on your nails that makes them taste bad so when you go to bite them you stop- I've never had that problem though so I'm not sure
ATTENTION SALLY HANSEN LOVERS: PETA HAS REALEASED PRIVATE TESTING INFORMATION ABOUT THIS COMPANY: S.H. @georgialinda24 Then your supposed to put it on after? I'm sorry that just makes more since then just have to wipe it all off! No hate I LOVE the way she did it but she still needs to but the clear coat on after it's all done!
@TheBiloxibabe I'd like to point out that the base coat that is under the white tip of the nail doesn't actually get removed in the process. It stays under the white tip to act as something which a) holds down the white longer and b) protects your natural nail from the pigmented polish. The top coat is then put on after to seal everything down and protect the white further. A base and top coat is not the same thing and they serve different purposes.
@TheBiloxibabe when i do french on my clients i just put the basecoat on where the white nail polish is and then a pink top coat then a white top coat
@dwachholz I got it from a shop called Sportsgirl.. I live in Australia and it's an Australian brand.. otherwise its just a synthetic angled brush which you can get pretty easily off ebay or other makeup stores. Even try just an acrylic nail brush?!
@trenolea Not for me it's not :) I know it's not how everyone else might like them but given they're MY nails I thought I'd do them the way I like them. So why don't you just do yours thinner and keep your comments to yourself? X
lmao at the comment up top....SANDRI she prefers the line thicker, YOU do it thinner if you want but WHY should she do it YOUR way?? lol that goes for anyone! I actually prefer the line thicker, too so georgialinda, thank you for the great tutorial and I hope you simply laugh at the silly comments that these people say! :)
@Rienei Hehehe... have patience and try to steady your bad hand on the table or something when you're doing it. Took me aaaages! (and I only filmed me doing my good hand) :P
You could just tape it off and then peel the tape off and not have to use polish remover and a brush.....but yes....you do a good job and they look really nice !
@xTrendsetter The tape idea is good for people who will have a hard time doing it the other way with the brush and polish remover.. ... There is also curved nail tapes out there that you can buy if you prefer a curved guide line.....and yes , her nails are beautiful too !
@sandri36 Didn't really understand what you said. Anyway, as I've said in a lot of previous comments, thicker white tips is my preference and If you don't like it, I suggest you do yours thin :)
I am growing my nails at the moment (they are taking ages!) and I can't wait to give myself a french manicure. Your method seems the easiest so far, thanks!
Omg this is truly amazing! It looks like you have an acrylic set of nails (I mean this in the best way because I truly love acrylic nails!) I just have to try this out!!
I tried this and it's not as easy as it looks...the white paint didn't come off very easily with the brush...I have an angled tip brush and nail polish with acetone in it...why isn't it working for me? I even tried doing it right after applying white polish to one finger and it still did not come off easily.
@jacnjoe might be that the white polish is just really strong? or it might be that your nail polish remover is too weak. sorry.. don't know why it's not working for you :( try like soaking the brush in remover, so really have a lot of remover on the brush before you try to wipe it away.
@lankangurl123 ahh thankyou :) i got it from an australian brand called sportsgirl and they do mostly fashion, but this was in their small makeup range. I originally bought it to use for eye makeup but it really wasn't ideal for that, it was too synthetic and i had better angled brushed, so i turned it into a nail art brush :P
@georgialinda24 that's nice thanks :) i was trying to find a box shaped brush to do what u were doing here i guess an angel brush would work as fine :)
@emcool111 I'm not pro or anything, and I only really started taking a proper interest in nails this year :P BUT... China Glaze is a pretty well known and trusted brand, and I've had no problems with it. It's better than the other white polishes I own- it's more pigmented. The Top coat is from Manicare, and I probably won't buy it again, it's not bad.. but I reckon there are better top coats out there. As far as whites go, it does the job well :) and I've had really good use out of it!! :D
WOW thank you SO much, finally an easy french maniqure iv tried SOOOO many times at home hahah but I can never EVER secceed hahaha im such a fail, I think i might post a vid response to this one if it works on me ! but hey, should i wait for the white base to dry before i use the angled brush ?
@Ourmakeupcorner ahh you're so welcome :P Yeahh, I was always trying to do a nice french manicure but always always failed miserably and then after getting it done properly I tried the salons technique and it worked :D I don't really know, I think its a little easier if you don't let the white nail polish completely dry. So pretty much do one hand with white and then go right ahead and shape it with the brush and remover.. :) x
