@cococo37 if you watched the behind the scenes special on this match, not too many people knew for sure that this was his last match. And wasn't this in Austin's hometown, or close to it? I know people would be cheering for Austin for this match if they knew it was his last one.
@slickcross In the extras of Wrestlemania 20 DVD they do a piece on this match. Rock told Austin that he loved him and thanked him for the match and Austin told Rock that he loved him back. Its a very good bonus to the DVD. Austin had a few health problems leading into it and they both wanted to have the best match they could. If you watch carfully on the extras, you can see they grab each others hand when he pins. You can't see it here, but they had so much respect for each other.

Jesse "The Body" Ventura does the voice over work for it. He talks about several other main events though out the history of Wrestlemania, but this one is so good. Worth buying it just for the extras.

@TSK619 Yea Austin was popular because he was always kicking ass. He did really jobbed to or put anyone over. I think The Rock was better overall is because he didn't always have to win to be the best. He didn't have to beat up everyone and win everytime. He didn't really need the belt for ppl to recognize that he's great. He was just there to entertain and perform, he didn't care if he was face or heel which is why you can't really boo him. Austin was in the game longer but Rock caught up.

He was just a plain white dude who supposedly drunk beer all the time and would put his finger up at you. The rock was just naturally better in my book.

@MeepMeepVroom Yeah, Rock's a sellout sure. He only singlehandedly carried the WWF when Austin had to get neck surgery and was out for nearly a year. What people don't realize is that Austin initially quit because he complained about not getting booked against Hogan at WM18 then no-showed several events afterwords. The Rock was always professional while he was in the WWF. Here's another thing to think about maybe Rock doesn't feel like WWE is a great product.

In its a place is an awful sterile PG rated crapfest that feature mediocre wrestlers doing the same 5 moves. In fact the only good wrestlers these days (with the exception of Randy Orton) are HHH (on hiatus), Kane, Taker, and Edge (All are attitude era). Sure the fans supported him, but if the fans are smart enough they realize that WWE sucks and they should stop watching it.

If Cena were sent back in time to the attitude era the best he'd risen european champion. They make him the alpha dog when he isn't even IC title material circa 2000.
