I gave you a pass on Blackbird because it can be a little tricky, but this is just bad. Your syncopation isn't correct and the subtle nuances that Lennon displayed are totally missing here. If you wanted to go for a more "swinging" cover, you missed the mark here. Keep playing though!
Yea, I agree, I have much to work on. Subtle nuances were totally foreign to me at this stage of my guitar learning process.
Since working on some Santana songs, my Blackbird has improved quite a bit. But still not quite perfect. When I can do it better than Paul, I will post another video.
Thanks for the encouragement, I will keep playing, and learning!
Hey, thanks for the comments and suggestions. You are totally correct, subtle nuances are way beyond my capabilities at this point. I'm happy to have captured the beat, though poorly. Six months ago, I couldn't have carried this beat if you wrapped it up and put it in a pail for me.
Thanks! The guitar IS fantastic, it's a rare 1982 Martin D-28 Herringbone and its sound is superb. I'm glad you liked it, and I appreciate the comment!
You called that flat picking? You call that sounds good? Sorry but you made that Great Martin sound like shit.

with all due respect, you should not be allowed to sing with that Martin even in your hands!!!
Keep at the playing tho ;)

Thank you so much for the, umm... encouragement.
It really is an awesome guitar, and there is no way that my voice will ever do it justice for accompany.
Thanks for the comment!

Good job, but your voice is not on the music. Great guitar. I'd appreciate your visit at my "strange" cover of Hello Goodbye (on a Martin).

I'm sorry, the guitar is not for sale.
My soul, on the other hand, is for sale, if you can make me play like Robert Johnson, or Paul McCartney.

I like the guitar but the singing is horrid Joel. :)

This is my first attempt at singing and playing at the same time. It's much harder than it looks.
i challenge you to show me how it is done, Elliot. :)

I'd need a guitar first. :P

You can pick up a cheap first act guitar at wal-mart for 50 bucks, or check craigslist for a better deal in your area.
Even without the playing, I challenge you to do better. Try singing Norwegian Wood without an accompaniment.
