Well, If I were new to all this stuff, this would be just like a fun class in school! I had to learn this stuff on my own, so it took longer, like about 5 years longer. Thanks for posting this, because learning is one thing that gets the next generation involved. I don't know about that type of valve gear very much. S.Ry. #3 has Stephenson type valve gear, so this was somewhat new to me.
Thanks a lot for posting your videos, I really do enjoy them, I am also a 22 year old interested in steam and have been around steam since i was about 16, in full and miniature scales. Yet by watching your videos like This and part 1, I still learned something new. Thanks for posting, keep up the good work for you and your videos and everyone else at the V&T.
@Chatzi473 Thanks so much, I really appreciate what you have to say. I know there are old time steam experts who might look at this video and say, "I know all that." Let's hope that young people like you stay interested and keep steam alive into the next generation.
@virginiatruckee Well it is great for someone to take the time and explain all the information that is in these videos. I have been around quite a few museums and also miniature live steamers and find that it sometimes is hard to find someone who will explain it all. The people who know the parts and workings will eventually have to teach the new people. And many don't see that, to teach it, so knowledge is lost. A lot in the video I did know but by having the videos made i learned a lot more.
