This was the most boring documentary I've ever seen. Fucking solipsistic twaddle. The Jewish filmmaker is so full of her own sense of self-importance that she thinks people would love to watch her on screen for 120 minutes. Fucking ass.
Uhmm saw this doc... I must say I was a bit uncomfortable with the racial undertones. granted thee is a big problem here the comes down to family values and being a responsible citizen. I don't think Courtney is a bad guy he shows have to be shown a better path and karens Mom could perhaps guided him that way.. because he has never known better life than ghetto life. I think because of his color the mother was reluctant to help him see the light. in some ways like a silent sabotage agaist karen
I don't think Courtney did himself any favours, and he made it easy for Karen's mother to think badly of him because she was paying the bills! It was great to read that he and Karen were still together as of 2008, but I was disappointed that they were on their third child together - incredibly irresponsible. Maybe I'm just a harsh judge because I am also black!
I think the real hero was Sharon's boyfriend - he really seemed to be the glue that held everyone together.
what a great documentary ... quite upseting with maya and the strain on the family etc but overall a great documentary
