@FunnyCowboyDance I agree that I overemphasized the first display here. I'm not so sure whether it would be better to swap the first two methods to do the fairer display in the second stage. If the non-magician spectator believes you are doing the same thing again, then differences in what they've seen gets blurred. It depends on what they will concentrate on during the second viewing. I think it is better to get the dirty work done asap in the second stage so that there is nothing more to see,
@jaapsch2 Yeah, and I mean, I guess it's circumstantial. That's just always been a rule for me when designing shit. I always try and get the dirty work done in an initial phase, and set myself up for cleanliness later on so there isn't too much of a discrepancy between displays and whatnot. To each his own, I guess.
Smoothly executed, but don't make the first display fairer than the second. That's a no-no.
