  • amazing i met her!!!!!!!!! NICE PERSON REALLY :D

  • I an an ex choir boy ofSt Mary's Cathedral, Sydney, 1961-1963 and I was just lamenting how much the standard of choirboys has dropped so low and just before I was about to go, I happended to notice your post and out of curiosity decided to hear it, and it made up for all of my previous disappointment. You seem to major in the very thing I was missing which was almost 100% diaphragm breathing. I never so much as saw your chest or shoulders even remotely lift and I cannot commend you enough on that

  • Amazing - excellent delivery! Love the top Bflat towards the end! WOW!

  • I have go to say your voice and your rendition is most intoxicating, I keep listening to it over and over again. Your high notes are light and crystal clear. You really use your voice as a beautiful instrument. Thank you for sharing and enriching my soul as I listen to this song.

  • I have attended the Houston Symphony chorus' performances of the Messiah for the past five years. I must say, your interpretation is much more entertaining and technically clean than any of the soprano soloists they have invited to sing the piece. Congratulations on an outstanding performance!

  • This is a Wonderful interpretation.

But I like Elly Ameling's even more.

    Thank you for Posting

  • Marcy is frickin' awesome!!!! Keep it up girl, you sound amazing as always. :-)

  • Marcy, you are fabulous. Your control is amazing.

  • Brava! This was a joyful rendition, and the runs and trills were impeccable and clean! Not to mention your dress beautiful! Thanks for putting this up.

  • I love your trills!

  • beautifully and excitingly sung

  • You should take voice lessons!

  • Fantastic Marcy!

Have a look at some of my videos! Hope you are well.

    -st

  • I loved your voice lessons video, I've had that conversation at least a million times. Great job in this performance. Every note in your melismas is spot on, well done.

  • Watched the "you should be a singer"... then saw this. Lovely... as a long time Lyric you are right on and this is a great idea! ... Off to Lady Macbeth for me... and the students I now drive through their lives... Thank you!

  • A lovely soprano with a sense of humor! Who did you study with? This lyric coloratura/ long time voice teacher hopes to see a lot of you in the future. Don't give up. You are fabulous. That reminds me-I have to go practice #$%^&&* Rejoice!

  • @wowSaelra Thanks so much for you comment! I have been working with Trish McCaffrey here in NYC since 2005. I hope you see a lot more of me in the future, too;)

  • Beautiful! Thanks for posting "Voice Lessons"...it got me here. What a joy!

  • what a lovely voice! Your coloratura is beautiful! Where did you study?

  • @mrsjostrander75 I studied at Indiana University, both BM and MM

  • How exquisite bright and lovely!

  • Such a pleasure and so wonderful to hear and see such a joyful performance!

  • I LOVE finally hearing someone else take it at the speed I like to do it myself. I always get such funny looks from conductors when I give them my tempo. Lovely job, especially on the ornamentation. I also greatly enjoyed your "Voice Lessons" video! SPOT ON!

  • This is wonderful!! I just watched your video "You should take voice lessons"--hilarious! I am an undergraduate student in voice, and that is pretty much the story of my life. Anyways, you have such a clear, resonant tone and it is great to hear you cut over the whole orchestra. Good luck with your career and God bless!

  • Wow! Absolutely stunning! Brava!

  • I hope everyone appreciate how incredibly HARD this is to sing!!! Great job Marcy!

  • This is exceptionally beautiful. It is SO refreshing to see the melismas sung with solid breath control instead of all the ridiculous mouth movements on every note, and also to hear trills sound like trills and not just a wide wobble. Major props!

  • Beautiful! Really nice ornamentation, too. Kudos & congrats from a fellow soprano who also loves to sing Handel.

  • Very nice!

  • That was awesome

  • I love that you controlled your breath well enough to be able to linger on the note coming out of that run at :36. I have said it before but this is really lovely!

  • Amazing! Excellent delivery - pity the other soloists look so bored... Super performance.

  • wonderful ornamentation, too thin high pitch, otherwise wonderful, natural and authentic

  • wonderful technique

  • Very well sung! Also, you look just like tennis player Tatiana Golovin, it's uncanny.

  • Marvellous! You need to be a good actor to sing well!

  • I like your ornamentation :) Fabulous!

  • Marcy-we are in grand lake colorado enjoying your opera singing. Your brother, Therese and dad and friends. Your singing is wonderful.....therese's friend Ellen (who does not have a utube account and had to depend on a 12 year old to communicate to you!

  • this song is so hard to sing...

  • definitely, by far, the best interpretation that can be found on the internet at all. She seems to manage totally each and every tone, every ornament, she is completely sticking to what was written, she and the conductor have total idea of the style, the tempo is great, and the singer seems soooo comfortable, that its truly amazing how easy she makes it look!! BRAVAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA grazie !! thanks for sharing this amazing interpretation! BRAVISIMAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • I totally agree! This is absolutely the best version of this piece that I have seen on YouTube! Stylistically nearly perfect with intuitive and seemingly effortless ornamentation. Amazing!

  • @twalker742 Thank you so much for your wonderful compliment. I do feel it's a shame that I'm currently not singing Messiahs all over the place! I Kind of a waste, as Handel is definitely one of my biggest strengths. Thank you again!

  • now i have a score of messiah which i look through constantly...and that triplet in the b section...isn't there....i'm SOOOO glad you added it! it was beautiful! that's at 1:45 for those of you who are wondering what i'm talking about

  • Absolutely BEAUTIFUL note on 44 seconds -- on the "shout". So many singers open their mouths so wide on high notes and they don't realize the the space is all INSIDE, just like you did. As a singer myself I was so adverse to the idea of singing basically with a closed(ish) mouth, but it improves the sound by leaps and bounds! You obviously understand that -- brava on the whole piece too! ;)

  • lovely...

  • I'm working on this and searched youtube, and I was happy to find you singing it...you sound amazing diva! :)

  • Bravissima!

  • Delightful performance. Outstanding job. I really enjoyed your ornamentation.

  • Excellent! Bravo! :-) I'm now practicing this aria, it is so hard but hopefully I think that I'll manage it till December.

  • very good!

  • Absolutely gorgeous!!!

  • superb!

  • AGAIN AMAZING! =)

  • I recently discovered this great voice? where is she from? seems like she's very young.

  • IU Bloomington School of Music grad (I think around 2004)
