  • ostia, para vostros joer!

  • was it just me or did the woman say " ehh bornd in the u s a di sprutalut"

  • @cenation968 She said, "An exclusive for us and for all of you, Bruce Springsteen, The Boss with "Born in the USA". Enjoy".

Un exclusivo para nosotros y para todos vosotros, Bruce Springsteen, el Boss y Born in the USA. Disfrútalo

  • this song is about when the Americans got sent out to Vietnam, and when it was finished the Americans said they were "baby" killers. Listen in.

  • sounds like a native american chant, i like it

  • love him!!!!

  • if there's a way to fuck a great song is making the acustic version.lots of fuck to MTv for that idea

  • @amapoorguy You realize what this song it about? It's labeled as a happy anthem but really it's about the harsh treatment of veterans and how he just wants to be respected and honored and to get a job but he was "born in the USA"

  • Menuda joya. Menuda joya!

  • Hoy yo rezei, me confissei antes me resocitei.

  • Beautiful version!

  • WTF Bruce...I like acoustic songs...but this definitely is not one of them...

  • I love this song......but have to say, this is horrible, no emotion and this is what this song is about. Born in the USA is an emotional song (not about the USA triumphs, but about our reality), unfortunately this version captures neither.

  • raw brilliance x

  • 0:08

    It's brutal.

  • @Nothingtearsthebeast AHAHHAHAHAHAHH I CRIED LAUGHING HAAHAHAHA ......... 0:08 "Its Brutal" AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

  • adooooroooo! Ele é incomperavel

  • Hmmm wird version, blues... not rock... but the direction is the same...

I got in a little hometown jam

And so they put a rifle in my hand

Sent me off to a forign land

To go and kill the yellow man..

that is true if you were born in the usa

  • hey you fat americans, how's the kfc these days? your veins ready to explode?

  • @juzu4me - come get you some you yellow bitch.

  • @juzu4me Come and get some you yellow baster, SdRacings' right!

Don't you understand that this song isn't a "patriotic" song?!

Is a son about the vietnam veterans, because they were treated like dogs as they came back home!

Learn something 'bout songwriting and history before i get your fuckin' yellow ass!!

  • @NerothrowsawahisTV what would a fucking nobody from neutral switzerland know about war or anything? Go launder some dirty money you german pussy and quit kissing ass to the yanks so that they'll save you and keep you in business

  • @juzu4me I'm sorry, we're enemies? I didn't realize. I was under the impression you treat every individual with respect. You're embarrassing your country with those words and I'm sure many Canadians would be horrified to be associated with your ignorance.

  • @blueballsredhair Wrong, we think you're all filthy dogs. And you're broke as well and you're going to look to us for free oil pretty soon but you can screw yourselves

  • @juzu4me At least I have friends...

  • Awesome version

  • he had to play it like this, so people could understand the meaning...to many people take the fist pumping, beat of the original version like its a patriotic song. its not. He started doing this after Reagan used it for his election campaign.

  • @jonnygb4

so right, when i was young i tought it was a song about how proud he was to be born in the usa. Then, when i started to understand english i was somehow surprised by the real meaning. But strange someone can use this for an election in a country where everyone SHOULD understand it, as its their native language ;)

  • i don't get it.

  • @jbro1313 Don't vote...

  • lol in spanish is like Bruce Espringsteen

  • @vladystrider Here in Spain we use to say "Brús Esprínstin"

  • @vladystrider almost.... but NO

    it would be: Brus Espringstin

  • Fine this isn't his best version but you're acting like it's his only version... I for one like this version a lot and it's only an experiment of his, what's the problem? Maybe this aint great but compared to his 300 plus INCREDIBLE songs it's forgivable!

  • hes 1 of my best artists but to be be honest this version was shite!!!

  • @ darcyjmorgan - What bluegrass stuff? I don't mean to be rude but your comment is just plain stupid.

  • @darcyjmorgan

always the same with most of the native speakers here: no feeling, no emotion, no social intelligence, nothing to say. so be quite and put your index finger in your stomache! big "G"

  • @darcyjmorgan Interesting... this is actually how the song was originally written before he presented it to the E Street Band... not with the slide guitar, but the simple E & B chord acoustic progressions.

  • Como ha cambiado la televisión pública española...

  • None are responsible for where they are born. It's never a choice, but it can be a lament.

  • Hot damn!! What an amazing rendition!

They don't call him The Boss for nothing!

  • Must 'a been listenin' to Ellen McIllwain.

  • hêh_åÑÿ_gÚýs_wåNt_tö_chÁt_wïth_më

  • One of the greatest anti-war song ever written, thanks bruce

  • magnifique voix ;)

  • I don't understand why people comment with politics on songs, especially those by Springsteen. This is a beautiful piece of slide guitar and vocals. Save the lyric interpretation for another time, or website. There must be websites where people can sit and talk about the hidden political meaning of songs. Appreciate The Boss for his music!

  • Comment removed

  • @harpdude07 Springsteen is a really political guy, and so are his songs. I could see not commenting on the politics in Miley Cyrus, but the Boss has always been politically motivated.

  • @DoctorMandible You are exactly right. When you go to a Boss concert, ( I never did) But, they have people there, organizing "Rock The Vote" and trying to get you to sign up for the Democrat party, and radical leftist causes, and their liberal political rallies. .

  • @TOPOFFMAN What constitutes a radical leftist cause? And how do you know this if you've never been?

  • @DoctorMandible The list of radical leftist causes usually begin with the word "anti" or "Students for" You don't really need me to list them all do you? And I know this because, I know people who have went to his concerts, and I've seen videos here on You tube, with organizers trying to recruit stupid young people, who are brainwashed already, and indoctrinated by public school educators, ripe for the picking. And, of knowing Sprinklesteed's liberal politics. Now he is just a washed up old fart

  • @TOPOFFMAN so if something is againsit violence or for students its a radical liberal cause? lol your one of the reasons the country is in the shape it is now...how is it being brainwashed if students dont follow the status quo or mainstream conservative causes?

  • @patsperfection "Mainstream Conservatism" is hardly the "status quo" on college campuses. Conservatives usually have to keep their beliefs a secret for fear of getting a failing grade, or being shouted down or assaulted. You know I'm right.

  • @TOPOFFMAN If you think that, then you really need to come to Binghamton University. Right-wing nutjobs control the student government and are the dominant voices on campus, even though they make up a miniscule proportion of the student population. You honestly think conservatives are being persecuted? If you do, then you really need to get out more.

  • @gracebasherguy92 Birmingham must be a hard science school, because that is not the "norm". Most major universities are infested with the intolerant communist white male hating liberal professors, and students ( and I'm speaking about the white ones! . But I am glad to hear that there is some hope in Birmingham. Sounds like a small school to me. But it's a start.

  • @TOPOFFMAN First of all, it's Binghamton, not Birmingham. It's in New York, not Alabama, it's a public liberal arts school (and no, not that kind of liberal) and it has 12,000 students, many of whom don't even vote, which allows right-wing nutjobs to control the student govt. And if you call "hope" having the student government call the Black Student Union a "shitty welfare group" in public during budget negotiations, then I'd hate to see what your idea of dispair is.

  • @gracebasherguy92 Binghamton, whatever. I find it hard to believe that story you tell, because the news media would be all over that one. But if the shoe fits..........

  • @TOPOFFMAN Yeah, I'm sure, in your little paranoid fantasy world.

  • @gracebasherguy92 BTW, "Sweet Home Alabama" is one of my favorite songs. But you already knew that.

  • @gracebasherguy92 BTW, I do get out now and then.

  • @DoctorMandible

.I was just touched by the song is all and it pisses me off when, like with most music videos/news clips/ movies there are always people who feel the need to spout their opinions. I listen to music for the music and its my right to say what i said, but I'll have to let it go I guess. Just my feelings.

  • @harpdude07 The lyrics make a song, a song is a poem, a poem is nothing without lyrics. Please, there's more to a song than fancy vocals and instruments. People are commenting on the politics of this song because THIS SONG IS POLITICAL. I just find it funny how Americans chant this patriotically, not realizing the meaning.

  • @harpdude07 because in this box, people (like you and me and the rest ) can write whatever they want. and you can choose not to read it (or thumb them down) if you don't like them. and because some of us want to share our opinions... even if these opinions are not music related.

  • what a gorgeous man. if this song was the only song i could listen to for the rest of my life, i wouldn't care.

  • Topoffman, Are you saying that there weren't any vets who were "cool rockin' daddys in the USA". Moreover it's not about "mistreated veterans". It's about bringing the Vietnam vet's experience to a popular awareness. Are you saying that the Boss is a draft dodger because he got rejected by the draft board (he was 18)? Besides, the Boss became one of the most sucessful American song writers\ musicians in history. What are you? You're "any fool can write their opinion" about a legendary talent

  • @thefearsome2000 I just find it ironic, that this so-called boss, who cowered when asked to serve, is the spokesman for the veterans?? And he got paid millions of dollars in the process??

  • @TOPOFFMAN, the Boss is an artist and he like every other artist was simply bringing a situation of his times to the fore with verbal images, and a rhythm evoking both positive and negative emotions about a situation that is still unresolved in the collective consciousness of America. He wasn't a paid spokesman for vets, and he would've made millions regardless of his attempt to bring awareness to the V Vet's experience. Proof being, most people think that Born in the U.S.A. is a patriotic song

  • @thefearsome2000 You say "like every other artist". Every "artist" is not a liberal, and they do not all bash America like this man does. This man is hollow. Where is his outrage and concern for today's veterans with the wars we have going on now? Not a peep, nothing, from this boss, when a democrat is in the White House. He loves Barack Obama. That's why. BTW, Anyone who actually listens to the verses of born in the USA would know that it is not a "patriotic" song. It is a anti- American song.

  • . We all know that America isn't perfect. There has never been a perfect nation. But, then he says, " I'm a cool rockin' daddy in the USA." What in the hell does that have to do with mistreated veterans?? This song never helped any veteran. All it did was make them more bitter. Thanks draft dodger

  • 31 people weren't born in the USA.

  • @Omaley42 I wasn't , but i like the bluesy approach. It least your comment wasn't related to beiber.

  • Comment removed

  • @TOPOFFMAN wow, you are ignorant.. nuff said. by the way ignorant means stupid if you cant understand.

  • i can't decide if his worst instrument is (1) guitar (2) slide guitar (3) harmonica...great singer, songwriter, epic performer

  • Comment removed

  • @radishrose haha lets see you play a guitar harmonica or slide guitar bud .. put the video up and well see if you are better than bruce

  • Didn't know this was the original version. It's very soulful and has a contemplative 60ish vibe to it that was a total surprise. Contrasting it with the popular version it's like two different characters are performing the song. This is just a reminder of how talented a musician he really is.

  • Comment removed

  • @TOPOFFMAN really.? really eh so im waiting for your video playing slide guitar, or even just guitar. hes playing a 12 string with a slide thats difficult. so you make a video playing guitar and singing and well see how good you are . or do you not play any instrument so you have no right to comment on someone elses playing.

  • Comment removed

  • Wow..love this rendition too.

  • Love the original version! This was dropped from Nebraska, then became the hit everyone knows

  • Best versions of this song are in LIVE and I hope see him one day shouting : born, in the USA.

  • LOVE OR LEAVE IT ITS THE AMERICAN WAY

  • this version gives me chills! bruce you are really "the boss" as they call it home! we too love your songs since years to 20 years !!!!! I'll still many years a "french" cette version me donne des frissons !! bruce tu es vraiment "le boss"comme ils disent chez toi! nous aussi on aime tes chansons depuis des années pour moi 20 ans!!!!!allez encore encore de nombreuse années "un francais"

  • Cuando fue esto grabado?

  • why there was no cheering for the boss at the end? :(

  • There is another acoustic version of this track. It is by Skeggs and is brilliant

  • Comment removed

  • This is a performance , by a man who is ashamed of where he came from. The USA. A country, that allowed a mediocre folk singer like himself, to become grotesquely wealthy. He should feel guilty. He ain't that great if you ask me. Lucky draft dodging bastard.

  • @TOPOFFMAN What does your sorry republican ass listen to? Lemme guess ONLY RUSH LIMBAUGH. Why does every right winged son of a bitch think they are a walking breathing god? A song can have many meanings you stupid fuck. This song is about the life these Vietnam Vets have/had. You think your patriotic? I bet you are one of those stupid right winged dip shit that want to get Obama out of office ASAP because "he hasnt done anything" Oh trust me he has done more than you can count on both hands

  • Comment removed

  • @TOPOFFMAN Yep, and bush did the public a great job with his policies. Explain how Obama has hurt the US. He hasnt. Hope and change for me is great, as a school student i get longer insurance BECAUSE OF OBAMA. Bill Clinton was one of the VERY FEW good presidents we have had. FDR, Washington, and Clinton are the three main presidents that have made this country what it is. Obama will be among them when he is out of office. The economy is slowly making a recovery.

  • @75z28 Hey, you forgot to mention LBJ on your list.. He started medicare, and the welfare state for crying' out LOUD! It sounds to me, that your presidential heroes are the ones that give us The freebies. Welfare, food stamps, EBT, WIC, etc. etc. The money is running out.

  • @75z28 P.S So glad you got your freebie insurance till age 26. When I was 26, I owned a home and wasn't a burden to my parents, or the taxpayers.

  • @TOPOFFMAN I dont see why republicans think the economy will be good again over night. Study your history so we can make a change for the better tomorrow. Its stupid fucks like you that destroy this country.

  • Sounds better with age on him.

  • i wonder if he did this because he realized he lost his voice..

    age, folks, age...ask hetfield

  • Może być, chłopaczku z Nju Dżersyj..ale kipol mosz niezły :) Pedziała Caryca ze Śląska :) :)

  • I wasn't born in USA

  • i prefer the album version

  • I'm sorry I don't speak dsddkrkirggnhtohkhn .

  • HO-HUM

  • 'sent me off to a foreign land, to go and kill the yellow man'...

  • Buckminster fuller cheKING~* in limp dip hit~*.

  • Bruce loves the hope & change of 10% unemployment

  • discusting...

  • Great, but very far different than the album version.

  • 1fthru99,com we love youMr. Bruce

  • Where ever we are from we believe is "home" and "the best", the difference is with the USA and Britain is that we have both been best at points, British empire, most powerful, biggest and best empire the world has ever seen, The USA fighting off anyone who try's to damage it at any point.

  • i wanted to watch this video to see how easy it was to play this song on the guitar and here he is playing on a 12 string guitar with a bottle neck and in a western sort of way.great

  • People misinterpreted Springsteen’s song as one of patriotism, and they were even so blinded to the true message of the song that they played it during some political campaigns. Anyone who actually read the lyrics to Springsteen’s “Born in the USA”, instead of just concluding what it meant from the title, could tell you that the song was highly critical of the United States, especially in our treatment of Vietnam veterans as they returned from war.

  • my god what a chick!

  • anti usa song !

    its cool :D

  • @LusiLu93 its not anti usa its anti usa government that why i love this song BORN IN THE USA

  • ITS ABOUT LOVE & HATE

  • The Boss! >> what a heartfelt version....

  • May the Fourth be with you...Happy Fourth of July!

  • Pro American song and anti war song. Other than WW2 I can't think of any other war that was for defensive reasons.

  • @jimmi161 One could easily argue that the current Afghan war is a defensive war.

  • @Gleebo Yes but you would be a fucking idiot

  • Bruce framed an artistic photo of the work hard be dedicated and devoted still get kicked in the ass scenario which is still alive and well in certain categories of our society especially the ones involving Government!!!! What is Clear and Positive is that we The people can depend on each other in times of Crisis if you doubt this just look at any of the past disasters in the USA and see how people reached out for one another WE MAKE the Difference ! Be a part of that

  • @TOPOFFMAN The USA government needs a slap in the face. I am from the US don't you think people that actual give a shit about the US would want to fix all the corrupt shit that is going on in it constantly. Not to mention the face that the only people that ever benefit in the corruption going on in the US government is going to people that already have millions of dollars and not to the people that could actually use the money like us. You're getting fucked too and you don't even care. I care.

  • Comment removed

  • @TOPOFFMAN I'm pretty sure this song is about how the Vietnam Veterans were mistreated after the war and their hardships, I don't see how that's a slap in the face of the USA, its a valid issue.

  • @Ghostboy177 It is a slap in our face because, when you hear "Born in the USA, Born in the USA" you think that he is being patriotic. But, when you here the verses, you hear his smart assed criticism. We all know that America isn't perfect. There has never been a perfect nation. But, then he says, " I'm a cool rockin' daddy in the USA." What in the hell does that have to do with mistreated veterans?? This song never helped any veteran. All it did was make them more bitter. Thanks draft dodger.

  • @TOPOFFMAN It should be a slap in the face. You send the low income segment of the population over-seas to fight a war that a 15 year old could have done a better job of planning. The well publicized rules of engagement put on the American Military were suicidal "Don't go into Cambodia in pursuit of viet-kong", wtf is that? that's not how you fight a war. And then treating the vets that poorly when they get back, how patriotic is that? Similar to the 9/11 responders bill.

  • Comment removed

  • @TOPOFFMAN Since when is being called low-income degrading? Now you are establishing warrants that aren't true. Low-income is just that. It means you make a low income, not that you are lazy or a beatnik. Does calling someone tall degrade them? It is an economic descriptor that is even used for census data analysis. If you look at military conscription, you will find that a majority of recruits come from low-income families. Also, I did not vote for Obama, as I don't live in the USA.

  • @Jerehk Did you ever consider that some of these soldiers truly want to serve their country? I think not. You seem to only consider them as some sort of victims.

  • @TOPOFFMAN I'm sure most of them want(ed) to serve their country. But they are still victims if the war is conducted poorly, and, arguably, needlessly, and without a functioning social safety net to help them integrate back into society and deal with the mental and physical problems incurred in war-time.

  • Comment removed

  • @TOPOFFMAN Slow down. Please define your scenarios in a bit more detail. Are you saying orphans with birth defects bully the "Joe Average" kids in school? As for the parents, that is why I am a fan of pro-choice. I expect the parents to raise the child, so they should have some say in the matter. The western approach to "throw pills at it and it might go away" is bound to have side effects.

  • Comment removed

  • @TOPOFFMAN By that logic it has also saved us from just as many mass-murders. What if Hitler's mom would have aborted him? Hmmmmm? (You see what I did there? Cleverly reversing your argument to show its logical inconsistency?) By the same coin, what if the properties of metals did not include conductivity? Then Earth wouldn't have a magnetic field and life on Earth would not exist. We could play the "What if?"- game all day long. Stop throwing straw-men.

  • Comment removed

  • @TOPOFFMAN Then why did you not apply this "basic" knowledge of human nature to your own argument before stating it?

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @TOPOFFMAN That was in response to your "Pro-Choice has probably deprived man-kind of some great people" argument.

I started the argument because I saw that your replies to other posts lacked logical consistency. This argument is intended for you to critically review your positions. It is not my intention to change your views, but rather for you to have views that are logical derivations of your values and reality. If they stand up to critical inspection, they are every bit as valid as mine.

  • @TOPOFFMAN Your an idiot

  • Comment removed

  • @TOPOFFMAN My criticism wasn't just directed at the government treating the vets poorly. Vietnam was the first war to be extensively covered by mass media, such as broadcasting networks. They broadcast what war really was like, with drug addiction, AWOL soldiers, all the normal things that encompass war. This turned the American public not only off the war, but also off the soldiers, most of which had post-traumatic stress disorders. Lastly, Vietnam was not a defensive war.

  • Comment removed

  • @TOPOFFMAN One man's "anarchy" is another man's "social upheaval in the name of justice". The winning side gets to pick names. The media, in capitalist societies, tends to stick to the side that is better for business, or if they have moral values, the side that makes them feel the warm fuzzies in their tummy.

  • Comment removed

  • @TOPOFFMAN You are correct, nobody said that life is fair. However, given that these people "defend America", often with their mental health, body parts, or even lives at stake, you would expect them to be treated with a certain amount of dignity and gratitude when they return from war. (That was one of your arguments from earlier on in our little discussion) You have now displayed the lip-service that is paid to soldiers, as well as the actual response given to them. Congratulations.

  • @Jerehk Why do you care about our soldiers so much anyway? After all, they just kill people. and destroy things. Wouldn't your passion be of better use helping the homeless?? Just a suggestion.

  • @TOPOFFMAN Soldiers generally do what they area told to by their leadership. They are therefore "ambassadors of will and power" of a government. They show the values of the government. As do the homeless (in a socialist state at least). Also, some soldiers, due to points discussed before, end up as homeless. So you could ask the same question of your government, which could actually impact both aspects of your question. That is what Bruce's song does. That is why it is patriotic.

  • @Jerehk If Spruce had at least served, he might have some cred. But he didn't and he doesn't.

  • @TOPOFFMAN People can only talk about the centre of a star if they have physically made measurements at the centre? Bruce's song deals with the way that the veterans were treated after they returned from war. He did experience that, as did most other Americans that were alive at that time. That gives him plenty of "cred". He just chose to address the issue, rather than pretend it didn't exist.
