  • It's a real pity. The game itself had... a pretty not so great story, but the gameplay was some of the best in the series. Too bad no one played this, or we'd see alot more evolution in the gameplay no doubt.

  • whats "forced levels?"

  • Levels you're forced to gain. It should be best put as "forced experience", because it's up to players how they choose to arrange it.

The forced experience comes from the first battles with Goons and Leblanc's gang in Luca as well as Besaid, Zanarkand and Kilika Chapter 1 bosses. Once you're in CH2, you maintain the same levels for the remainder of the game thanks to Minerva's Plate.

  • oh ok but why dose it matter if your party isnt the same level?

  • Horrible game.

  • Accidentally watched a video centred around it? That sucks.

  • ormi cries wen he gets defeated lol

  • Good luck with your challenge.

  • Interesting challenge.

Even moreso, interesting music. What is it, and where could I get it? :o

  • Birds and Buildings is the name of the band. idk, you could always try google.

  • See you started. Things look hard in the beginning. Good luck with this challenge.

  • Makes me feel like playing X-2 again

  • thanks for the descrip, good video and song 5star!

  • this is really easy.I did LLG but i didnt mean to, i just didnt want to train.Almost made it to the end :P

  • the song is...odd...?_? and the video description O_O...man thats long...good luck though on the challenge ^_^

  • This is an amazing idea. Can't wait to see how this goes. I never got past the time were you had to go into the hq of that crazy near naked chick. Which means I didn't get to do "that" minigame.

..after seeing Active Mode in action, I love this game.

Also, think its possible after this challenge to show a Transformation Montage, showing us the Dress Sphere transform sequences for everyone?

  • I may record a video of that minigame for the laughs. However, for some reason, the recording program distorts the sound so badly that the result could be frightening.

And I guess a dressphere transformation exhibition wouldn't be a trouble. After all, I AM getting all dresspheres in the game during this LLG, as well as the good ending (perfect ending and 100% are impossible, I'm afraid).

  • Don't worry. Its not like the perfect ending is that good anyway. It writes FFX's ending out of exisitence.

  • For any mid-high budget game from SE you can buy the Ultimanias in Amazon. Especially FF, it has all game mechanics too.

  • I doubt I'll go through the hassle of shipping a guide just for one piece of information of interest.

I'm just surprised nobody has studied the guide to shed some light on this.

  • I can think of a reason. Most people don't see whats good about this game. The gameplay (evidently)

I'll look up the Final Fantasy Wiki to find info for the game for you.

  • Now this sounds like a very fun challenge. Having only one Minerva Plate doesn't even make things easy either, especially at level three. I already cannot wait to see some optional bosses going down.

  • duhuhuhuhuuhhu please make more poop,s.

  • This game is too easy, got mascot then got bored xD

  • I think I'm going to rely on Mascot a bit endgame but there's plenty of bosses ahead before it becomes available. Didn't you have to beat Angra Mainyu before you could get the Dressphere? This ought to be fun.

  • Yeah, I was like level 33 there xD

    Annihilator pwns tho;o

  • So how good would you say this one is? I always hear complaints about it, but I've never played it

  • It has my favourite battle system of any FF game and that's roughly all I need. Excellent replay value and it's less linear than most other games in the series. Get it if you consider storyline and concepts as dubious as 'character development' to be peripheral to enjoying a game.

  • Nice to hear something good about this game. I don't see why they don't just look beyond the "bad stuff"

  • well said, i think the same, personally. totally non-linear and a great battling system :)

best use of ATB in any of the FF games, full stop.

  • It is TOO easy though....the monsters in final dungeon hit only for 200-300....and the final boss is laughable.

  • well if moogleboss doesnt use the ol' catnip technique, this could be quite a challenge at a low level game.

personally with my first playthrough at levels around 35-36, i found the final boss to be quite a refreshing challenge, especially since i'm fed up of the old 'lets turn into a gigantic god-like monster!' i liked how the final showdown played out, toned down compared to other games. Still, i thought he hit hard even at those levels so i'm expecting a good fight.

  • I don't plan to use Cat Nip on storyline bosses... I probably will use it on Trema because I'm not crazy enough to execute other combos of similar proportions (e.g. Break Damage Limit + Gil Toss), but not together with the Gunner DS. Let's face it, Gunner + Cat Nip does not make any challenge challenging. Neither does Lady Luck's CONGRATS! and Ultima is debatable as to its cheapness after CH4.

  • I didn't use Catnip either....only on these megatonberries xD

I could do a Via Infinito boss series with 3 Mascots...not on Youtube yet I guess.

First I would have to master it though xD

  • Well, the Mascot DS does offer the best stats, though beginning with floor 60 those bosses do begin to hit you really hard regardless of stats.

I wish Angra Mainyu wasn't needed to get the dressphere. Makes the battle itself nearly a Catch 22 situation as long as cheap tactics aren't applied.

  • Then again, you get free Shell Protect and Ribbon...should be atleast more interesting then DK/DK/ALCH cookie cutter party. BDL would help a bit too, even though I would have to do that annoying choco-quest I've never bothered to do.

  • Dark Knights are reduced in effectiveness because of the low levels in this challenge. Since their primary use is using Darkness, which depends on physical attack, their damage potential is inferior to what some spell casters can offer. Attacks with fixed damage are more welcome here.

  • WOW nice job XD
