gotta give Gamespot credit for getting the least dislikes on their review of a game where thousands of people who HAVEN"T EVEN PLAYED IT dislike it on principle no matter what their score is for it.
From an enraged CoD fan i have to say this isn't the developers fault this is Activision's the most incompetent publishing company ever. It's taking my favorite franchise of all time and treating it like live stock. The only reason I'd ever want this franchise to "die" would only be for it to be put out of it's misery and liberated from it's publishing dictator. For a "true" successor to CoD4 it's great but i can't help but feel empty an emptiness not even skyrim or BF3 can fill.

@SgtMcG17 Because it's fun and the movement in the game is better than in any other. The writing in the single player is great and most of the levels are memorable unlike Bf3, which had a rather meh campaign. They didn't kill the fps, they added a lot of features that are standard today, like the killstreak reward, the leveling system and perks. That's why. People love to hate games they haven't even played yet.
The only thing infinity ward does right is the campaign. We need a game that is made on frostbite 2.0 with infinity ward on the single player and DICE on multiplayer and treyatch on zombies. BEST GAME EVER!!!

I dont know why everybody bitches on about how bad this game is? Its practically glitch free, stunning sequences seen from first person, smooth gameplay, awesome sound and gameplay, great campaign, multiplayer with loads of different game-modes, a special ops online-mode. I mean, if you've played the "Turbulence" mission you really get a hunch of how good this game is. Several sequences was jaw-dropping. I mean, you are entitled to your own opinion, but overall, this is a great quality game. :)

@OmbudsmanS1 Surely the sequences were scripted, but you must remember that this game doesnt have any cutscenes, so the scripted sequences filled that hole in. And imo i got the impression that i could control my character even when it was scripted. I felt like i had a chance to make an impact during these sequences. for example, (spoiler) when yuri gets his flashbacks and you get to try to stop the massacre at the airport. it is impossible, but it felt like it wasnt. I agree on the other.

@7heAre7s For me, it's a change of pace. I'm a BF fan and I like playing both games because they are so different. I'm also a fan of killzone as well. People want fast paced action and that is what MW3 delivers. I was anti cod for awhile but I always manage to come back to it.

I agree it's a good game. But since modern warfare 1, call of duty has been very identical in gameplay and graphics and yet they get so much cash and high scores.

@elliot6602 spawn system, map design, random cars and explosives, 1001 headglitches, everyone ADS with stalker due to amount of corners, deathstreaks, no long range battles, get flanked and shot from the back too often, very low health, op uav, akimbo fmg9, encourages camping, discourages rushing, square maps = less head to head, op perk setups, mw 2.5, too many obstacles mess up lines of sight, cluttered feeling, maps don't offer variety (short range gun battles mostly)
@elliot6602 It's so big that it's affecting the other games being made. Companies are now making games cheaper, half finished, and focus aggressively on the online aspects of the game. Some companies want their own Call of Duty and so they create mimics, not focusing on the great games they used to make.
I think Call of Duty is ok, but the third is honestly the worst of the bunch. I'm also annoyed that the other companies are not creating beautiful games like they used to.
How can you say the multiplayer is among the best of shooters? Online warfare is not fare. Someone becomes host, then the other players have to hope that they live nearby the host, so that they don't get to high ping. The game is very boring in my opinion. I bought it from Steam, and i've only leveled to level 34 because it's so boring. Some innovation in shooters would be good, not reharshing the same game
This is probably one of those games that I would buy in all the hype, only to get fed up with it in a couple of weeks. Be better to just borrow/rent it. Not worth the full retail price only to have the game collect dust after a few weeks.
I've enjoyed this more than bf3 in sp. Bf3's sp is just to restrictive, scripted and buggy. In terms of graphics, bf3 beats this in any way. But the gameplay is more important in my opinion.
Modern Warfare 4: Frost is recruited at Task Force 141, second-in-command as a Lieutenant. they should make him a REAL person, not a mute retard following orders, just like what they did with Soap. as for a story i can't think anything good but i am sure Infinity Ward will make something up for Frost and Price working together
Why the hell does this have 50% dislikes? 8.5 is a decent score for a decent game. It's not a 9 it's not a 9.5, it's an 8.5. Mw3 deserves at least 8.5.
MW3 while extremely fun for me and my friends, has not recieved much of an update in the two years that have passed from MW2. A new spec ops mode and multiplayer mode is all i have found that's really all that new.
I tried playing MW2 earlier and once I joined the game I instantly heard an entire team OMA/Grenade Lauching across the map. MW3 is filled with terrible maps. I'm done with IW's Call of Duties.

cod has been the gratest fps game ever since it started. its overrated because of its adictive miltiplayer gameplay and campaign, Battlefield was good but cod blew it away. Now Dice took the time to make a very complete game (BF3). Call of Duty is just good. If it ain't broke don't fix it. If I wanted something different from MW1, W@W, MW2 and Black Ops I would play Battlefield or Resistance 3, but I don't want Call of Duty to change.

Personally I kinda like this game. The spec ops is fun, the multiplayer is alright, and the campaign is ok. My main gripe with the game is that I have been playing the same game for the past 7 years. This is the first CoD game I bought since CoD 2. Sure there are problems with the series like it being overhyped, and other shit like that, but what was good with the last games are still good here. This game I think is getting trolled, pure and simple.
I'm Disliking it because it's way too old. Battlefield 3 actually did something different with frostbite 2.0 and awesome multiplayer. MW3 just added spec ops survival and Kill confirm.
Here is what should happen, These develepers need to get there shit together and start fresh. Doing this could give them more options of thinking on new ideas for multiplayer,scec ops, and Campaign. Second, You dont have to release a new game every new year, i would at least wait a good 2 years or so and make sure everything is perfect. Mw3 is good and should be great for how long its been intreging us with its new options and some people have to admit that this was a good game fo the time being

okay, here's my review of mw3 and bf3
mw3: campaign was very good, multiplayer is very familiar and not so exciting
bf3: campaign was ok, multiplayer is glorifying, unbelievably amazing

I've enjoyed this more than bf3 in sp. Bf3's sp is just to restrictive, scripted and buggy. In terms of graphics, bf3 beats this in any way. But the gameplay is more important in my opinion.

Modern Warfare 4: Frost is recruited at Task Force 141, second-in-command as a Lieutenant. they should make him a REAL person, not a mute retard following orders, just like what they did with Soap. as for a story i can't think anything good but i am sure Infinity Ward will make something up for Frost and Price working together

MW3 while extremely fun for me and my friends, has not recieved much of an update in the two years that have passed from MW2. A new spec ops mode and multiplayer mode is all i have found that's really all that new.
My review
8.5 for an effectiely fun experience
4 for a low amount of new features
overall i'd give it a 6.5

I tried playing MW2 earlier and once I joined the game I instantly heard an entire team OMA/Grenade Lauching across the map. MW3 is filled with terrible maps. I'm done with IW's Call of Duties.

Both BF3 and MW3 get 8.5. I personally dislike MW3, but I see its merits. Both BF3 and MW3 should get at least a 9 if not 9.5
Then again, although I think BF3 is superior in vast majority of ways, the bugs in the release are BS and it should get a lower score than MW3.
But thats just me...

I wouldn't consider mw3 a great game, it's ok at best.. I don't think anyone who is really in to their games would consider it a great game. Too similar to mw2 and just not as good as black ops.

cod has been the gratest fps game ever since it started. its overrated because of its adictive miltiplayer gameplay and campaign, Battlefield was good but cod blew it away. Now Dice took the time to make a very complete game (BF3). Infinity ward had 2 years to make a cod game, result: new weapons, perks, maps ,game modes and more. what im saying here is that cod will never change, if it changes it wont be cod anymore. Personally I kinda like this game. The spec ops is fun, the multiplayer is alright, and the campaign is ok. My main gripe with the game is that I have been playing the same game for the past 7 years. This is the first CoD game I bought since CoD 2. Sure there are problems with the series like it being overhyped, and other shit like that, but what was good with the last games are still good here. This game I think is getting trolled, pure and simple.

Here is what should happen, These develepers need to get there shit together and start fresh. Doing this could give them more options of thinking on new ideas for multiplayer,scec ops, and Campaign. Second, You dont have to release a new game every new year, i would at least wait a good 2 years or so and make sure everything is perfect. Mw3 is good and should be great for how long its been intreging us with its new options and some people have to admit that this was a good game fo the time being

@KWelch60 for most its offered nothing new nothing improved and just overall felt like mw1 and 2 also there using an old engine to make it feel the same they always have issues in the game like in mw3 is spawn issues op guns and campaign didnt feel amazing it was just fine but not like waw or cod 4 also to me personally quick scoping it so bad sniping isnt even sniping anymore and plus maps arent the best i never find a map for me to snipe and not quick scope this is is so over hyped
