I am an atheist, and I don't dismiss the UC possibility. It's just that I don't believe in anything before having good reasons to believe in it. That includes gravity, the fact that my car's brakes are safe, and gods. "Good reasons" means: The stronger the impact on my life, the more rigorous criteria must be met.
I also don't belive in the greek pantheon. I guess you don't believe in that as well. But we both don't have any evidence that the greek pantheon doesn't exist.

A timeless & causeless first cause could be anything, and would probably be something that people are, as yet, inable to imagine. Right, so your God couldn't have created the universe. If your premise is true then God cannot create the universe from nothing because something cannot be created from nothing. All you could say that god manipulated pre-existing material into universe form, but that would imply that pre-universe matter had always existed alongside God & so God is unnecessary & cut off by Occam's razor.

In order to use the elliott argument you must first have an answer to refute the elliott argument. To this argument the only answer an atheist can give is i do not know. I am an atheist, and I don't dismiss the UC possibility. It's just that I don't believe in anything before having good reasons to believe in it. That includes gravity, the fact that my car's brakes are safe, and gods. "Good reasons" means: The stronger the impact on my life, the more rigorous criteria must be met.
I also don't belive in the greek pantheon. I guess you don't believe in that as well. But we both don't have any evidence that the greek pantheon doesn't exist.

A timeless & causeless first cause could be anything, and would probably be something that people are, as yet, inable to imagine. Nobody could've imagined, or thought possible, General relativity or QM before they were actually discovered. What makes you think the explanation of the universe will be any different? The Israeli war God is certainly not a reasonable candidate for a first cause.

@fivethirty Anyhow, the first premise of the Kalam argument is unsupported. The premise: "everything that begins to exist has a cause" is based on empirical deduction, right? What WLC fails to realize, is that we haven't actually observed anything beginning to exist. Everything we see is merely a re-arrangment of existing material, and so neither Craig or yourself have any basis to affirm that causality is applicable regarding ex-nihilo creation.

Right, so your God couldn't have created the universe. If your premise is true then God cannot create the universe from nothing because something cannot be created from nothing. All you could say that god manipulated pre-existing material into universe form, but that would imply that pre-universe matter had always existed alongside God & so God is unnecessary & cut off by Occam's razor.

In order to use the elliott argument you must first have an answer to refute the elliott argument. To this argument the only answer an atheist can give is i do not know. Simply becouse we havent found out yet but i am willing to wait for my answer. I will not replace pateince with thre bible, unless in some way someone ends up proving the legitimency of the bible. Another question, have you ever been sick with the flu, cold, even a headache. If not you're not human, but if so what have you done to make yourself better? You lost your argument from the beginning. An UC is not an option. You are guilty of the exact things that you accuse Atheists of: Illogical and Irrational (the UC concept itself defied the laws of logic) and have zero evidence (you have zero evidence for the existence of an UC).
Atheists, on the other hand, rely on evidence to support a statement. Because there is zero evidence for the existence of an UC, there is no reason to believe it exists. Same with Unicorns and spaghetti monsters
