I'm wondering how soaked that hammock is gonna get setting up in a rainstorm. Is there a way to avoid that?

If you took 4 mins to set up where I live you'd be drier sleeping in the ocean.

If you add snakes skins to your h/h you can get it set up very fast Probably under a minute. As the hamock remains in the skins(and wrapped in the fly) it will remain dry until the very end of the set up and i doubt it will be exposed to rain for more than a very few seconds.Best of all it never touches the ground!

it isnt tricky at all, actually. set mine up in about 2 minuts and figured out how to get into it without having ever heard of a hennessy hamock untill that day, and never having seen one set up or used. it was given to me as a gift. quality is A+ . i want to see one with a hexagonal rain fly though, as it may be my next purchase!

How well does the bottom velcro do? I am worried about bugs/insects getting inside. Also, I've heard stories of people getting nipped at through the bottom by mosquitos, does that seem to be a problem for you?

bro, that velcro closure is one of the slickest features of the whole hammock. i love it. NEVER had a problem with insects of any kinds. And where I hang out, believe me, if those insects got a hold of your skin they'd haul you out through the velcro. but it's solid.

Depending on your body size. 5'10" or shorter and under 200 lbs, you can go with the scout. it's designer for kids and smaller body frames. otherwise go with the expedition asym. that's what I use for weeks at a time.

yep, it's a patented design particular to the hennessy. designed to allow a user to sleep across the diagonal without the banana curve typical of hammocks. thanks for looking.

Thanks for the info. Helped deciding which hammock Im going to buy (Hennessy or Clark Jungle Hammock)
