@RadicalPresident Thank you man. I'm actually writing a blog about Chiptune now. I've finally been getting more time to write music as well. Thank you for your kind words. I'm just a guy who likes good music.
I'm 13 and Sabrepulse is my hero. I heard of him when I was 7 or 8 but didn't really know it was chiptune/8bit music, I just liked his music. Couple years later when I was 10 all of a sudden at school while I was day-dreaming I was thinking back to the past and I remembered that song, I just completely forgot the title and the artist. So after hours and hours of trying to find that one song I found it and now I'm happily doing what he is pretty much doing, making music on a gameboy with LSDJ.
@LifeAccording2Chris I recently aquired alot of juicy Henry Homesweet, Im a major fan of Anamanaguchi and Shirobon, highly reccomended, also, Unicorn Kid :) Liking ur videos mate, full of energy and confidence :)
@LifeAccording2Chris - "I try to be open minded to all types of music." What about foreign music? I like chip as much as the next guy, but I lurrrrrrvz me some J-Rock. Listen to some Dir en grey and MUCC (both japanese bands). I recommend the songs "Ware Yami Tote" by DeG and "Gentou Sanka" by MUCC. I _think_ you might like them.
im like you, i like every kind of music, and i fucking loveeeeeeee 8-bit chipbreak music :D
its pretty much amazing. i grew up on video games, so the first time i heard it, i was like oh my god what is this and where can i find more! lol my friends think im weird cause i listen to alot of it xD but its fantastic :D
I'm glad that you feel about this music the same way I do. The only people I ever see listening to it is scene kids and hipsters who think it's cool to listen to. I listen to it because I grew up playing my gameboy and this sound brings me back. But also it does have a more modern sound integrated in it too. I get crazy nostalgia, and other warm and fuzzy feelings too :) Alethio by Sabrepulse is one of my favorite songs of the chiptune genre.
Thanks for appreciating the genre of music I also create since I happen to be a chiptune/8-bit artist as well...you would see my covers of popular songs here on youtube in NES renditions.
Sabrepulse is awsome and i'm with u man i listen to whitechapel to ne-yo & i just found out bout 8-bit, nintendocore and all of it and its just beautiful to hear beats i recognize from the days i was chillin playin the super nintendo lol
always loved 8 bit...found out about these chiptune modern artists today...very very good...i like old school hip hop, trip hop, reggae, and jungle mainly...trance core is cool also...but chiptune stuff is REALLY good...i love it, it brings me back to first grade playing gameboy color with my friends it makes me feel great...i have a vst in fl studio for 8 bit so ima try to produce some..you should try to! if you have an ear for it you will enjoy making it probably...thanks for making this video.
i fucking love 8-bit and even 16-bit music!, but if anyone ever asks me why, i never can give a streight answer, i just like it... . .. i thinks its coz of the nostalgic impact it has on me =D
Awesome to see more people who also have grown up with video games. It's interesting that the taste of music actually depends on how you lived your early years.
Very refreshing video, I can appreciate your stand on the topic. A very smart and well thought out little expression of your appreciation for music. You sound like the kind of guy I'd like! Well done.
Well said, I grew up on Nintendo and Game Boy myself and deeply appreciate the music (but I'm also a bit of an audophile anyways). I actually got into Sabrepulse due to this video and you jamming to it, so thank you for that. Was browsing randomly for some 8 bit music and here was this video.
Chiptune = nostalgia. There's more to it too, it has only 4 channels and it's instrumental. That means no Crank Dat dances to cover it up. When I was a kid I played Sonic (16-bit, still limited) and Pokemon more than anything. Both games had strict channel limitations and the composers worked melody magic with them. Also, the Mario overworld song is still popular today. It had a smart melody, slight bass, and some white noise percussion. No filler. If you can't compose, you can't do chiptune.
Yeah I saw... I just started a MS music page for some of the stuff I've been making and I let him know how thankful I was. Hopefully he reads it and doesn't just think it's fan mail LOL!
omg... chris man, you totally know wat your talking about. This is just the sort of response needed just to show some love to the successful peeps who make this music and are in the 8bit community :)
these words were inspiring, and i can feel that chris is totally inspired :P its like he's passing it on.
Thank YOU! I appreciate you watching.... I truly do love this music. I'll be posting a vid shortly about my MS Music page I created for some tunes I've made! SO please stay tuned!
this reminds me of the time me and my friends were blasting it jamming in his car... there were 3 cute girls in the car laughing, because it was the most amazing nintendo music hey have ever heard... we were listening to horizons remix
This is great. Awesome way of explaining it too, i felt just the same when i first discovered it a few years ago. (still do feel that way!) Anyway, i started making my own stuff a few months back, i'm not great, but it feels awesome to start your own stuff! (try it when you have time!) myspace/paroxysm8bit check me out if you want! :)
It's ALWAYS worth it to try. Im currently making some tunes as well but they are thru Fruity Loops rather than LSDJ. I dont have the funds for that kind of hardware as of now.. BUT EVENTUALLY... I will. I also started up a MS music page for my tunes!
Very true... Maybe I will after this semester. I have to make sure everything is good with my schooling before I jump into something I might fall in love with lol
people need to be more open when you put yourself in a catergory or genre you will ultimatley hate what is diffrent because you only like what is in your box and the same thing applies to race
"what the hell? fuck u, stay in ur car I'll stay in mine" haha lmao hell naw...but that saberpulse is the truth, i started flippin out when i went 2 his page lol
" what yall know about teaching yourself stuff" that is what this reminds me of. and far as the saberpulse music goes it is the shiz-bit. and for that to come from just a gameboy simply amazing. you sir= awesome.
no idea who you are, but damn you speak the truth. im surprised now one has dont a chiptune remix of this.
