  • was and always will be numero uno!!

thanks so much for posting this...

  • the ultimate chord disciple rip Mr Gatton

  • lol when danny plays the guitar doesn't move, only the earth moves

  • Blues Newberg. How have I not seen this stuff before???

  • is this "the pits" or "blues newberg"? whatever it is it's awsome to see down the neck.

  • God almighty, this is unbelievable footage. It's like sticking a camera down the crater of an exploding volcano:-)

Apart from the incredible view of Danny's left hand, and how the neck seems immobile.. great lesson in itself... his right hand never stops working the volume and tone pots, as well as working the legendary gatton right hand magic - and he was left-handed!!!! Staggering! Many, many thanks for posting this!! Any more to come?

  • gatton is the telemaster

that sax solo was not too shabby either - whoa

  • I've added this video to my favourites once I saw it for the first time. That was almost a year ago. Now I cannot log on to internet without watching it again. If I cannot watch it, I just play it to listen to the song.

Danny was brilliant. This should be the most watched videio by guitarrists on youtube.

    Thx for posting.

  • @boriagi "The Greatest Guitarist You've Never Heard Of". Danny and Lenny Breau simply ruled the guitar world. There is no third...

  • Some guitarist have wear marks around their lick patterns. Danny's entire fretboard had not a flake of lacquer left on it anywhere.

  • BINGO

  • saw him very shortly before his death from ten feet away at the "taste of dc" festival. thanks to my EXwife, i only saw him play a half an hour or so. what a master. strange that he actually seemed very happy on stage, in light of the supposed deppression that ultimately caused him to take his life. radiokingz is right about the local talent in that area. buchanan, gatton, and even roy clark. the bladensburg maryland roadhouse "crossroads" has apparently a list of performers too long to list.

  • Whats cool about this vid--other than that great shot looking down the neck--is it perfectly illustrates the "economy" of Danny's brilliant style.

He possessed a luxuriously effortless technique that truly set him apart. He was THE HUMBLER.

  • I like that . "the Humbler" ha ha. very true.

  • This guy is simply unbelievable. He should be recognised as a god like Hendrix!

  • The guitar neck camera was a very cool idea..

  • This is really great material. Favorited right away! Danny was the master.

  • Reminds me of a late great Roy Buchanan and his After hours song.

Why all these great Tele players have to kill themselves ?

  • They were competitors in a friendly way. They were actually room-mates at one point. Washington was a guitar mecca when they were both playing around town.

  • AWESOME.The four best guitarists ever.Danny gatton, Stevie ray, Jeff healy, Dave hole. As far as I know Dave is the only one still with us.If you are not familiar with Dave do yourself a favor and check him out.

  • You missed out Hendrix, but good choice other than that.

  • any gatton is good gatton mucho gracias radiokingz

  • Thanks radiokingz for posting this. Never seen this kind of camera angle before. Stellar performance!

  • Wow! Very educational. Thank you. How did you get that shot? Is that a camera on the neck?

  • awesome video danny was trully amazing.
