SHe considered him her teacher and he grew to love the student who had come to him hungry and willing to learn. Her interests grew and Frank was outside the scope of her social circle. He resented this and the fact that she wasnt romantically inclined towards him.
One of the best movies I've ever seen. I remember who I as with and all the dialogue. Michael Caine is killer in this role, and for sure, Julie. It was magic!
I am also a student myself. I remember my university days discussing literature, smoking cannabis on the lawn and discussing politics. During my free time I would travel to Africa and give the unfortunate people some enjoyment. Those days were wonderful.
I enjoyed participating in University Challenge too.

I'm a 26 year old guy & I was born at the time when this film came out. I found the name of movie via a link someone posted about 'the 10 Dumbest Things Beauty Queens Have Ever Said'. The parallel is quite potent & relevant! *amused*
Being a student myself I have filled many otherwise empty hours watching pretty much empty, pretentious movies. I haven't seen such great dynamic between two main characters in ages. I SO love this movie!
I don't get it why is frank being so rude to Rita in the end scene?
