@jakobweiq make alias = create shortcut. Just follow along and Right-click -> Create shortcut anytime she says "Make Alias". Crazy Macs and their silly lingo.
@A5runner I wouldn't call the After Effects team stupid. They are far from it! It's not their job to install your plug-ins for you. Michele shows a super easy way. Not a big deal at all.
@tellysworld Michele's video is great and solves a Problem upgrading to a point release. A company as large as Adobe should think about their users, which they didn't in this case.
I don't think the After Effects team is stupid, as I said, Adobe has random stupidity. One example: Like the FCP shortcuts layout in Premiere are half assed. If they want people to make the switch they need to try harder.
Heck, I want Adobe to overtake Apple for video production!!!
@A5runner This would happen with any new release. The plug-in installers are built for a specific version of AE and only install there. Since there was no major changes (like with CS5 where 64-bit plugins are needed), this works.
What should you do if you then plan to remove AFX 5. Could I duplicate the plugins into CS5.5 so once AFX 5 is deleted there will be a copy for 5.5, and will this work?
This technique doesn't apply to the PC version.

How do I transfer my CS5 plugins for Premiere Pro so they work in CS5.5? This method worked for AE but it didn't carry for Premiere Pro
