  • @Motorchevytoyota, That is pretty misleading, But oh well, im a 3/4 ton and up person. It makes sense. If boxed frames were so great all the big trucks would use them.

  • comparing a f 450 to a GM 2500 whats new

  • Ford rules if you're rich.

    They are non indestructible.

Bronze can be toughened to be harder than the hardest steels.

But, unfortunately, Ford frames rust out without proper care.

But, yes, Ford rules, but the Tatra has a better suspension setup.

A solid axle can be problematic.

  • @seapeddler, Where have you heard of frame rust problems on a ford? My brother recently picked up a 77 f250 that had been used as a hunting truck its entire life, the doors and the bed are rotted to shit because of the mud caked in them for years, but the frame is the best thing on it, hardly any paint left on it either

  • @NathansBackwoods I restored my 82 Ford van. I must have carted away 'at least' 1 garbage-can full of rusted body parts. Another dangerous thing is the fr.coil spring mounts. Rust forms between the spring mount and the frame, with possible breaking away of the front suspension. Let's face it, a Ford is not an Antikythera device. If it doesn't kill you it will just rust, period. Did you find the 77 F250 in a salt water marsh? Jeez, let's pretend we're engineers for a day, and Fords don't exist.

  • @seapeddler, I have no clue what your trying to tell me from when you said "let's face it" on forward from there, honestly.

  • @NathansBackwoods Hey, YouTube is fun and educational. Everybody has a different theory about what is good or bad. At the end of the day, we all understand that Ford did not build the Himalayas. I suppose that crashing a mountain range into a wall at 40 mph would be expensive. It's just that simple !

  • you know i understand that a c channel is lighter and can flex to take the weight but why don't ford make a optional fully boxed frame for some people like farmers, haulers, and towers it would be more easier and better!!!

  • because the steel is a heavier guage. semi tractors use a C channel frame to save on weight without loosing strength. when your steel is 1/3 thicker you can get greater strength with a C channel. you have to remember the F-450 is really aimed at the commercial market. not many private owners have need for this much truck.

  • they're claims are facts...i want to see toytodeerrrr tundra P.O.S. last as long as Ford...americans do what they do best make trucks...not stupid japanese morons

  • Sure, the Super Dutys are freakin awesome trucks, but how are their claims facts if Ford's half ton supposedly has a stronger frame than their quarter ton? By the way, Toyota has a good reputation for making good trucks, any vehicle that is made well will last very long with proper care. The Tacoma may have had frame rust issues because Dana didn't properly coat them, but it's made in America, and didn't you say that trucks is what we do best? You don't need to use racism when comparing trucks.

  • @BuhundredReturns you must watch the video again sir. the frame on this ford c-channel is the thickest on the market for any truck equipt for this amount of load. 6.5mm thick!when you have steel almost a half inch thick, your taliing about some major, major strength, but a hell of alot of weight as well. that and it can also twist with more ease to help make the rest of the frame construction last longer due to less stress and hard hits on the road over bumbs. you make a valid point though.

  • @BuhundredReturns your speaking words of truth my friend. Lol. So many f150 owners I talk to dont think that superdutys have c-channel frames .

  • Open C channels better than fully boxed? He's a company man.

  • a fully boxed frame doesnt offer the frame to bend and go back to its original shape, the open C setup allows the frame to bend or flex and still go back to its original shape with out breaking.

  • A fully boxed frame won't bend to the point where it couldn't bent back in the first place, unless its in a collision or landing from a 30-foot jump. If you watch the video, hes saying open C-channel frames are CHEAP and EASY.

  • oh yes it rules...

seems that all people living in USA are farmers

    :)

  • we're farmers...???

    What?

  • 90% probably

take a look at the Top Gear video where Jeremy Clarkson checks geographical knowledge of American people

    You will understand , I hope :)

  • yet we were smart enough to become independent from Britain... i guess they were the idiots in reality
