@Jackalakadingdong No, remember the wrecked ship level? These animals were probably aliens from that ship, no doubt wrecked from the space pirate Zebesians. Samus reactivated the ship when she shut the power back on, the animals took their ship home. Simple as that.

I love pwning Mother Brain w/ Murder Beam. That way, even in the "cutscene" where the metroid saves your ass Mother Brain is still taking damage, so it makes it go a lot faster.

Because from the past game (Metroid 2: Return of Samus), a Metroid hatchling was saved by Samus and thought that she was it's mother. This scene is shown in the intro of the game.

there is a way to save the metroid, if you can somehow move while your getting your energy back, you can use the metroids head as a weapon. but it will take forever to kill mother brain

Have a save state before that save room, I read that I should not use the save room somewhere else.
