Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell just said today that "economic recovery is unconnected to the stimulus."

They are already gathering their talking points ready to be out in front saying the stimulus had nothing to do with the recovery, that it recovered magically. They know the stock market is going up, housing foreclosures are leveling off, the unemployment rate (even though it is still high) is decreasing, and credit is starting to move.

The recovery that happens will not be a result of massive government spending, it will come from the private sector - as always. The result of massive government spending will be the usual things that causes - increased debt and taxes.

George Bush's economic crash is still playing out, companies are still laying people off left and right, and the number of jobs created and saved by the Obama administration has not yet offset that.
