Everyone assumes, that everything that is not private is not "free" and so this leads to the conclusion, that by replacing RCTV with a nationalized TV station the freedom of speech is attacked. But that is not true. Seeing that the base of Chavez' might are the people who support him (he won the recent elections with app. 60%) and that he is very close to the people a nationalized TV station can actually support the freedom of speech.

What the video didn't tell us is that the majority of the people in Venezuela supported the non-renewal of RCTV's license since the TV station was involved in the kidnapping of Chavez and was spreading lies about the government. Also over 80% of Venezuela's media is still in private hands.

This is what used to happen in Vietnam before the war, where there were a majority of people supporting their current government, but there were foreigners who planned a coup and had the Vietnamese President Diem assassinated.
Later the country has a different president elected and the situation just got worse, the Vietnam war broke out and the entire coutry got into a civil war and eventually in the end, the coutry was in deep shit, deeper than when Diem was in office. This is what's the foreigners planning to do. They use the same techniques but on a different coutry. First they makes a small amount of people to hating their government then hell broke out afterward.
Appearently what you are doing is exactly what those criminals want you and others to do before they execute their further plans. Just watch when Hugo Chavez gets overthrown or assassinated the coutry is going to get worse, just watch believe me, this happens to very country in the world before and is still happening to more countries right now. What the video didn't tell us is that the majority of the people in Venezuela supported the non-renewal of RCTV's license since the TV station was involved in the kidnapping of Chavez and was spreading lies about the government. Also over 80% of Venezuela's media is still in private hands.

Segun la ley de Venezuela, hasta donde entiendo, el presidente tiene la autoridad de suspender la licensia de las televisoras que usan redes del estado. Y el confiscamiento de los equipos de la estacion fue una decision juridica. Todo dentro del marco legal.

The vhf frequency band is state owned, therefore it's up to the government to set the standards on which the private company works on, simple as that! RCTV needs to grow up, they failed the people on April 2002 and they need to be set responsible for their actions, we stand in solidarity with Chavez on his desicion.

democracy throughout the country and eventually to the world, but I think there are people that are setting up plans to make his people hates him. Everything he does that you think it may be bad, but he is just being vigilent about everything, he is worrying about his own people helped by foreigners to execute another coup to overthrow him or something much worse.

The news has mislead many people including me, but now I know I was wrong about Hugo Chavez. This is what used to happen in Vietnam before the war, where there were a majority of people supporting their current government, but there were foreigners who planned a coup and had the Vietnamese President Diem assassinated.

Later the country has a different president elected and the situation just got worse, the Vietnam war broke out and the entire coutry got into a civil war and eventually in the end, the coutry was in deep shit, deeper than when Diem was in office. This is what's the foreigners planning to do. They use the same techniques but on a different coutry. First they makes a small amount of people to hating their government then hell broke out afterward.

Hurray chavez!!!. just kidding. the true is that chavez didn't shut down RCTV, he just decided to now renew the license of this company, is a right of the venezuelan state, like it or not. I think there should be an international agreetment between all the countries to set params of when you can and cannot renew a license for any media, just my two cents.
