  • Summer rain881, A reverse sneeze is very different from a collapsed trachea. Babyfidgette, Here's a trick I do with my little morkie... Next time your dog does this.... try covering her nose for a couple seconds so she has to take a breath through her mouth. It always works with my dog. First ask your vet if it is in fact a reverse sneeze and not a collapsed trachea though. Good luck :)

  • this is NOT FUNNY! Your dog is basically suffocating. Collapsed Trachea is very common in yorkies! Reverse sneezing is not cute or funny it is SERIOUS! Your dog needs to go to the vet ASAP to have an xray done on her throat. Collapsed Trachea is not something that can be diagnosed in just an ordinary yearly check up. WOW poor puppy I wish I could pick her up and rub her throat to make her feel better since you are too busy video taping her and laughing. You are a bad mother, DON'T have kids pls

  • @SummerRain881 this is NOT a collapsed trachea..its a reverse sneeze. VERY DIFFERENT! This is common in small breed dogs! jeeez mine does it, and hes been vet checked. Before you tell people they are a bad mother to their pups, do some research!

  • My dog was doing this last night! I was so scared and helpless I could cry. :( I know now how to stop it but I wish I knew how to prevent it.

  • My yorkie does it too, wouldnt worry too much, i think its in the breed

  • make him comfortable.. dont let the dog run much..

  • omg ty i just got a yorkie puppy n was so scared. she does it everytime she drinks.

  • Almost every Yorkie I've met has done this! It's loud but cute!

  • Pharingeal Gag Reflex,

  • Yeah when they reverse sneeze they have a reflex called pharyngeal gag reflex that makes them snort. I think it's funny. BTW it's harmless.

  • IDIOT: It's not funny. Would it be funny if it were you? this dog should be checked out by a Vet. Trachea collapse and other conditions common in this breed must be examined by a vet. It can be serious if not managed.

  • thats not a disease. its more like a breed characteristic. its really almost like an equivelent of a snore in small dogs. dogs with average sized muzzles cant snore easily. but all it is is air rushing up their nose really fast. like say your nose is blocked up. if you breath really deeply, you somewhat snort. thats whats happening here. nothing serious

  • gogiogo, that was uncalled for. Nobody is an idiot. Reverse sneezing is VERY common, and anyway it is not treatable. Good heavens, do a little research. A number of breeds are afflicted with it. And humans are more affected by having to watch it than the dogs who are actually doing it.

Real wheezing, on the other hand, needs a vet. Sneezing, reverse or normal, is no big deal.

  • @gogiogo actually, its normal!! Do some research before you spew bs to dog owners. This is a reverse SNEEZE done by small breed dogs. mine does it, and he JUST got vet checked 3 days ago, 100% healthy.

  • lol my Shii Tzu Pomme mix reverse sneazes.

  • Why LOL? there is nothing funny about this.

  • its reversed sneezing... no harm done

  • No, she doesn't. This has been going on for years.

  • thats sounds like ure dog has kennle cough !!
