Nice video I have a after care method to keep the IceySole clean ass hell I not only tried this but I use it as well hit me @ BlackQuest89 and ask question I will answer them.
@BlackQuest89 You've posted this single comment on EVERY one of my video. So what does it do exactly for the sole? Have you actually make a video of the whole process live?
Does this work better than seaglow? they seem both very time consuming, and this "mixture" seem to be a hassle to make. Any benefit to retrobrite over seaglow? thanks optimus
@titanmedic23 im doing a restoration just using sea glow i put in like 8 hours on the left sneaker. all sea glow. i think sea glow is less of a hassle and cheaper
@garay7826 Everyone has their own method. Where I live you don't always get Sunlight so soemtimes that option is not available for others either. Also the other reason why I did this method is heat and sole separation. Sunlight always gives you the risk of sole separation. Trust me if there was no separation I'd love to use sunlight because it DOES reduce the amount of time needed and you get faster results!
@garay7826 this process is safer because when you sea glow using the sun light leaving your shoes in the sun will warm the shoe up (the sun is obvious hotter then a light bulb) and cause the glue on the sole to liquidate and sole the starts to separate from the mid sole which is a big no no
im doing a sea glow project. just with natural sunlight. stay tuned to see what is better sauce or sea glow. i also have the OG Space Jams. so coming soon results...
@cutster2 I never had the correct setup down in place so I couldn't say which one presented the best results in the smallest amount of time. So far right now I'm leaning towards retrobrite.
@mazelbaptist You can make your own or buy them from restoremysneaker. I'm in the process of finding out how restoremysneaker is making the solution because it can get pretty expensive.
How much time do you let them sit when you apply the sauce till you rinse them off and how many times is recommended a day to do it? How many days using the same application till you see results? (HELP)
@townsters I've left it on for 7-10 hours with no issues sometimes 12. It's usually taken me at least a good week to do it. Halfway through you'll see some results.
@MatthewLuisIgnacio I believe housing was about $20, lights were total to be about $65, glass about $24, and of course you need your own foil and make your own cutout for the bottom parts, but those aren't much. So a little over $100 just in hardware. Then you have to factor in the retrobrite material. The most expensive stuff is the hydrogen peroxide. A bottle of that sucker was $19 bucks!
@shastanizzle813 There is always a risk. Each pair of shoes could be different depending on wear life and so forth. If they're DS the glue of course is probably holding up pretty well. If it's been worn I can't always vouch for it. I know just know my setup doesn't pickup as much heat as you would with direct sunlight. I guess if I truly want to find out you can buy me a temperature gun and mail it to me so I can check :)
There's always that possibility of sole separation.
@shastanizzle813 From what I've been told it is more effective with natural sunlight instead of UV bulbs. The amount of time is drastically reduced if you use sunlight, but the only issue is the possibility of sole separation.
For this, would you use this after SeaGlow. or would you use this as an alternative for it. becuase my Oreo 6's are yellowing and i want to know whats the best bet for me.
