  • at 0:45. can you please tell me how to pronounce them in cantonese??just wondering.

  • 肯定是普通话说的人多啦!Of course more people speak mandarin! And most Chinese people can't speak Cantonese if they are not Cantos. So both Cantonese and Mandarin are useful.

  • @liuzhij5 yea, but cantonese is still 1 of the most spoken chinese dialects....

  • @KristaTheSinga

Mandarin is language while Cantonese is dialect.

So Cantonese is language or dialect?

  • @BAIYUE1 no... mandarin is a dialect... it's chinese, and cantonese is another dialect of chinese...............

  • @KristaTheSinga

Why chinese law record Mandarin is official language of chinese, you lies me.

  • @BAIYUE1 well i read articles and it said mandarin is a DIALECT! plus it's CHINESE, and that's a language, but mandarin is just a dialect. geez

  • @KristaTheSinga

Mandarin or Putonghoa(Pinyin) is official language.

If you mention to chinese include many language as Mandarin,Cantonese,Zhuangzu,H'mong.....

You should remember chinese now is nationality term.

  • @BAIYUE1 but mandarin speak in 'poor state of central red coxmunist china like shannxi , sichuan ,henan ' cantonese speak in English speaking UK,USA, Australia, Canada Rich Chinatown , shanghais speak in rich shanghai white ethnic area like poung east, thanks for dirty poor corrxpt communixt chine one language policy of mandarin mean language of Russian comxunist, lit gov steel your money) hong kong S.A.R.S child not allow to speak Cantonese except you are immigrate to English speaking country

  • @liuzhij5 more mud communist robber passport hold speak mandarin not measure by Rich Cantonese speaker , also when white guy stay in Cantonese speaking area or shanghai speaking area, citizen is more friendly than in shannxi , sichuan ,henan poor red steel money party mandarin speaking area except you get red communist passport for white guy

  • @QWERTYUIOP12321234 i went to these places before, if i speak Cantonese to the citizens in red areas they can't understand me! and mandarin speakers usually in poor states most of them even can't speak english so it seems they are unfriendly. while if u use mandarin everyone in china can understand you. but if you have business with Cantonese speakers it is better to speak Cantonese

  • CHIBAI

  • a little hard to understand!!! ill better stick to mandarin first since most chinese speak mandarin!!!

  • @sqxyfay

Not in Hong Kong, they don't!

  • @crazyhanyu so what would be their communication to other chinese then?

  • No clear cut answer. There are at least 60 million Canto speakers in the world. HK only has around 8 million ppl - there are speakers in the mainland (Guangdong and Guangxi), and overseas communities in Asia (Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia etc) and western countries have communities that speak it.

The HK travel industry speaks Mandarin. Outside, it's hit 'n miss. A BJ-er may be understood more or less, but have to struggle to understand a reply in Cantonese. It depends...

  • @crazyhanyu i never thought that canto is the most spoken than mandarin.ill stick to mandarin since i already started reading writing and speaking a bit of it.

  • oh my god its soo fast i only caught a few of it lol!

  • You can find the transcript at the bottom of this page. The transcription also shows up on the video itself - you may have to toggle one of the buttons on the bottom right hand side if you can't see it. It's at natural speed, though. It has its advantages and disadvantages though.
