had right knee replaced BEST decsion Ive ever made!!!!!! Its been six months and Im very happy with my brand new knee. got to get the left one done but for right now its behaving. had the best surgeon in the world, Dr. Todd Sacks in Douglasville Ga. this man knows his stuff no.1 in my world!!!!!!!!! karen reagan
im having trouble with my leg, i cant bend my knee. i have had operation in my femur, my doctor said that i can go back to my normal walking but why i can't? i did medication and therapy but its hopeless. what else i can do???
@ymay05, If you have had surgery on your femur and your surgeon told you that you'd be able to walk normally yet you can't, I would recommend that you schedule a follow up with your surgeon. There isn't a way to give advice on what you should do without knowing exactly what surgery you had on your femur. If you are having issues with not being able to bend your knee, it's possible that it could be a different issue altogether.
@MyBaptistHealth , my surgeon told me that i 'd be able to walk normally, but my therapies said i can't because of the 5 screws placed horizontally on my knee. you think my surgeon did the right way of operation? it was happend 2 years ago, and if ever the screw will remove, is there any posibility to bend my knee again? thaks for the advice, i really want to know, i starting losing my hope and faith, i'm only 21, and its really a big obstacle in my everyday life.
@ymay05 get a lawyer! your doctor should help you till you are satisfied ! i just had my rt knee replaced on nov 15 2010 and my knee hurts just as much as it did the first day after surgery! the doctor doesen`t believe me he say`s that i`m the only one complaining about pain this far after the surgery! so i`m getting a lawyer to help him believe me ! what else can i do ?????
I am 53, female.. going for bilateral knee replacement..but in my quest to loose 40 pounds before the procedure ... ..not easy but doing it! ...Pain is constant and my walking is very limited ...Vocational Rehabilitation will fund my surgery because is needed in order to keep my actual job ..
im 49 ,, i have had this bad knee now for over 4 years ,, doc said i needed a total knee replacement ,, ut says he wont do it til after im 50 ,,, why,, im hurting now ,, real;ly bad ,,, i dont know how much longer i can take this pain,,, i took shots in the knee til it run my sugar up so now for past 2 years i aint took nothing ,,, doc wont give ya no pain med ,,i have used the ib profin 800mg no good ,,, gave me a med to rub on it no good ... no insurance no surgery i guess..
@nclady49 Don't know why your doc won't do the surgery, unless it's a concern for the longevity of the implant. Be sure you let your physician know how much pain you're having and the impact on your daily quality of life. Consider asking for a referral to an orthopedic surgeon for evaluation.
Theres a drug that might stave off TKR or PKR surgery. Its called Aquedan. Its available for humans in Europe or from a vet in the U.S. Animals that were forced to lay in a corner off their feet around the clock due to osteoarthritis soon sprung to life after having Aquedan administered. Those in the southwest U.S. could try getting it from a doc or veterinarian down in Mexico. Might be worth a shot if u have advanced O/A with chronic pain. If u the patient tries it please report back!
I wish to God that I had known about this process before my surgery. My doctor never told me what to expect. I wasn't told anything but what time to be at the hospital. Everything that happened after that, was a shock that has taken a terrible toll on my life.God bless you people who do this the right way. I will never walk correctly again. God, I wish I knew.
