That was during the times when Black people were "Black people". If you know what I mean. They had a lot of Black pride and they embraced their "natural" heritage. But now as a result of integration, many Black people have become "whitewashed". They try to imitate the White standards and they have strayed away from their roots. The mindset of many Black people these days is totally different from how Black people use to be in those days.
@tommiexander Shit is kind of messed up when you think about it. Integration is cool and all, but never jump into it ,especially with those type of people that were living back then , and you have no type of stable economic independence ,skills or businesses within your own community.Things only get worse. Because black people are the ones that have to assimilate and be dependent on what they agree upon. And after assimilation you start wanting to take on their characteristics. Sad set up indeed.
@sonique291 Could we have a black moment without some crakka comin in to ruin shit or is that the only thing they know how to do? You be the judge MF. Devils, the lot of um. Leave my people alone wench. No one is talkin' to you. Always buttin in wit your hooked as noses and flat asses, cuz your race is so boring. Mind ya bizniz.
Classic!...I wish more Black people especially women would go back to the days of "The Natural" I woud rather that then these ridiculous weaves and slicked down styles of today.
@ddsharper It's certainly a beautiful thing!...many other races then caucasian alter their appearances but it's said to say we take the cake!...but i guess in the end it's about what works best for the individual you know? but in my personal opnion natural hair is more appealing to me. The days and excuses of " I don't/ it's hard to hard manage" are over with all of the resources available now especially the internet one can find out new information about everything. (continued)
@880166 we need something from africa to give some softness and light kink reduction. check out african ethnobotany on google books. right now the white man is gathering all of the tribal secrets from medicine men on the continent. We as a diaspora should be getting that knowledge.
