I agree with a lot of you. I think Canada'a liberal view on immigration and trade is a benefit to the nation. I also know, although they have the highest foreign trade ownership, the U.S. is almost COMPLETELY dependant on foreign nation for products such as oil and fossil fuels. And this has been much more damaging for American than foreign trade is to Canada.

Working poor. These are people that work full time and do not make enough to pay for a home. The solution is eventually either prison or social services.
A social service pays a fraction of the wage of a proper paying job based on market factors. This low wage helps trade and kills Canadians that can not afford to subsidize their job.
Canadians should not be subsidizing their jobs we should be making money hands over fist for our ideas. As should our trade partners.

It seems we are only supposed to have one job that pays. It seems many Canadians have what is called innovation. This attracts advanced foreign investment (people that dislike intellectual genocide) these are good trade partners.

i did not notice before but that chart on foreign ownership speaks volumes about the left wing agenda for protectionism. although it shows us to be the largest in terms of foreign ownership it is only 50%. europe subsidizes so much that its products are extremely expensive to purchase. why is our debt to GDP the lowest? why is our unemployment one of the lowest (even in this depression)? why is our standard of living still one of the highest among the G8? because we trade, thats why.

Suggest "The Long Emergency" by Kunstler. He argues that we are beyond politics, that our way of life, the last 100 oil-based years, is "Gone With The Wind" now that oil has peaked & will shortly be in decline. Our food production is oil-based. There is no 'Plan B'. It will soon be survival, not guessing-game politics. The abstract (stock market) economy will be the first to fall. Then the REAL economy: food. Strongly suggest this book. Very reasonable, rational.

There is no "radical right" in Canada. We have one remotely right of center party, the conservatives, who I purposely denote with a small 'c'; then we have the liberals (umm... liberal), the NDP - extremely leftwing labor party, the Bloc Quebecois - extremely leftwing Quebec only party, & the Green Party - an expressly left wing socialist party. The conservatives doubled funding for the feminists, implemented Kyoto, and sold out our sovereignty under the SPP - began by Paul Martin. Right wing!?
